How spin-up retractable hard drives from my laptop to view files.

Hi, I have problems with my laptop and the video card (motherboard builtin embedded) is probably bad.

This isn't what I'm asking here.

I'm just a little impatient and thinking that I can't fix it (cost ineffective).

So, is there a way I can take 2 hard disks that are in my notebook and use some sort of any device or means to start them upward in order to extract all of the files that I need them.

Here's my hardware features:

Purchased in June 2008

Laptop HP Pavilion DV9700t Ent

Video: 512MB Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS

17.0 "WSXGA + BrightView Widescreen

Processor Intel core duo T9500

240 GB at 7200 RPM Sata Dul HD 120GB X 2

4 GB DDR2 Sys Mem (2 dimm)

Two hard drives are pop-out and there must be another way I can buy a device type of intermediary for just plug them in and look at my stuff here.

All the important stuff is saved, but there are several things in areas of work that I prefer not to lose.

In this era of technology, is there something that you can plug in a hard drive and turn it up and look at things.

The first hard disk is the 'C' and OS and a few tricks, and the other HD would be ' is secondary and all storage and work areas.

Thanks in advance,

I'll be contacting HP support by phone to ask about my other video card problems.

Hello

Most of them now use SATA interface. But to be sure, ask the seller for the SATA connection boxes.

Kind regards.

  • How can I wipe old hard drive from the laptop of computer death without jeopardizing the new laptop?

I got a laptop HP who died - apparently the motherboard is bad.  I have to return the laptop to HP for replacement.  I bought equipment to connect the old hard drive to my new laptop via a USB cable and have recovered files that I need, but I want to erase the old drive hard until I got back.

There seems to be a lot of variation in the hard drive, programs wiping, and I was wondering if someone could point me to one that could fit here.  I am concerned about the running software on my work to access the old hard drive and accidentally damage my portable hard drive to work laptop.  Who is?

    Hi Jenny_812,

You should be able to as long you are sure to pick the right drive for formatting.  See the following article:

  • DV6-6119wm: HP Pavilion dv6-6119wm - replace the hard drive with a hard drive from a laptop Gateway

OK (deep breath). I have a dilemma, and I hope that you all can help me.

First of all, the HP laptop in question is a dv6-6119wm QE069UA #ABA, Windows 7 Home Premium.

A month ago, it began overheating and then blue screened on me with a fan error. I ran it while I was getting this error, which was a mistake, because according to me, he has finally caused the hard drive failure after enforcement of reset factory several times. But I'm getting ahead.

I replaced the fan and the heatsink myself. Another factory reset. Downloaded and installed all the updates of windows. Ran great for like a week with the exception of the fault 1 hard disk when I ran the Start Up Test.

Then when I restarted yesterday... He's dead, so he is dead.  Apparently, the hard drive failed completely and comes only a black screen telling me it cannot start.

So, I have this other model of Gateway laptop, NV55C26u which has stopped charging. I had to put it away and don't worry. I got out the hard drive and tried HP successfully. ! Sorta.

It considers that the HP is a gateway and as a result, none of the drivers are there for all the good stuffs HP. It cannot connect to the internet and does not recognize the USB flash drive. (I had downloaded all the drivers on another laptop and put them on a pious flash drive I could convince the hard drive it's HP again). Another hard drive WILL work in the dv6, and I had no errors on startup it upward.

I have no recovery discs or store bought Windows 7, all came with the laptop preinstalled. But I don't have my key to the label.

Then what should I do? I'm not exactly tech savvy, I know just enough to be dangerous haha, but I tend to go glassy when things get too technical. I thought I could get something Microsoft to reinstall my Windows but I guess they closed this path down a few months ago.

    I have access to 2 other laptops, both HP. A QE304UA of Pavilion G7 #ABA with Windows 7 Home Premium and a HP 250 G2 Portable F7V84UT #ABAwith Windows 7 Professional.

So basically in order to encapsulate this novel to the top, which can do here to fix my dv6? How can I convince this other HDD HP rather than Gateway? I can create something from one of these other HP laptops? Download something somewhere? I don't want to have to buy Windows again. I love this phone and need her in my life as a game.

    Please help me

You must do a clean install of Windows on them. The hard drive has drivers for completely different material. Too bad that you did not have your drive to retrieve the value. It would restore the hard drive to HP with all the drivers/software installed. It would depend if the hard disk is at least the same capacity or larger than the original. Recovery discs are reluctant to a smaller capacity hard drive.

You can order recovery Medai for about $16:

If you can read the Microsoft Windows 7 of 25-character license key, you can download a Windows 7 ISO file to burn to a DVD or USB flash drive. The version must match that's installed on your PC as shown on the sticker COST Microsoft fixed on the bottom of the laptop. Like Windows Home Premium.

  • Restore Vista Premum (32-bit edition) for the new hard drive from the laptop when original disks are lost?

    Hello

I'm trying to upgrade from my son's laptop computer and want to replace the current drive with a much larger.

It is running Vista Home premium Edition (32 bit) and he lost his records came with the laptop: I can do?  I bought Windows 7 Upgrade and a disk hard sata 500 GB, but I need to get Vista on the new drive before Windows 7 readers.

I backed up the data using Windows Easy Transfer for issue restores the operating system.

Please note that this is a laptop, I can only have a hard drive up both and I don't know how to get the operating system to the new blank disc? I can create a recovery on a DVD disc / C or something Vista or a 3rd party utility?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Contact the manufacturer to see if you have a recovery Partition and if it can create recovery discs.  If so, create the recovery disks and you will be able to use them to restore the system to factory conditions once you have installed the new drive (but you may need to install the new Vista compatible drivers for the new drive as the recovery disks can have only those for the old disk).  Otherwise, contact the manufacturer and get a set of recovery (at a modest price) discs and use them to restore the system to the conditions of the plant on the new drive.  When we talk to them, confirm that their recovery process allows you to install new drivers for the new drive hard during the process and exactly how do (or it doesn't work - so be sure to check it out).  We cannot help you with recovery of the manufacturer process as it their not Microsoft.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • HP G61-322NR: how to replace the hard drive of my laptop

I'm new, please help.  Hard drive my laptop has failed and must be replaced.  Can I order a similar disk (a 160 GB SATA drive) on ebay.  Question: when I receive and replace the disk, what steps should I take to the BIOS of the laptop to recognize the new disk, make the primary, and then install the operating system Windows 7 from my recovery DVD?

Perhaps the BIOS sees the drive automatically and I can simply use the Reccovery DVD?

    Thank you!

It really is exactly as simple as that. And I'm glad that my metaphor of the car has been heard.

    Hi nlgootee,

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo!

You will need to remove the screws in the compartment

After that you must slide the cover toward the front of the laptop.

Note: Be careful on the removal and replacement of parts, any physical or cosmetic damage will not be covered.

  • Pavilion 17 t: how to replace a hard drive in the laptop M7H89AV model

I recently bought a HP Pavilion 17 model t M7H89AV with i7 processor. Oem hard drive is very slow and I want to upgrade to an SSD samsumg evo 850 500 GB. I'm looking at the bottom of the case and I don't see a special slot or the area to remove to replace the drive. It seems to me that the bottom of the laptop come off in one piece. serial number [personal information deleted]. This hard drive is not replaceable?

There are no manuals for your model. Here is a youtube video showing access hard drive on a very similar model. It's in German but it moves slowly enough so that you can follow:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=uDAKRL86IjU

You can see the hard drive at about 07:45 in.

Take you top down, not the bottom. Technically, the hard drive is not extensible part of the user and security is at risk if you open it. But HP said it's OK to upgrade to an SSD as long as you don't damage in the process. If you do, you're on your own.

    Hi Gary,.

on the new laptops, it's especially easy to remove the drive HARD, but on a Satellite 1730, it is quite difficult! A laptop is very sensitive and built up to complex, so maybe you could damage it something!

    Hello

Unfortunately this Toshiba device it unknown to me and I don t have found all documents on the replacement HARD drive.
But as far as I know, there should be only 2 possibilities how to do to remove the HARD drive.
1.) under the disk HARD is placed at the bottom of the unit and you should only remove the cover of the HARD drive.
    Or

2.) HARD drive is placed in the Notepad. In this case you will need to Remover the keyboard and some covers to replace the HARD drive

Well, I can give you only that info. I think that if you want to know the detailed instructions, you should contact Toshiba service partner because it has a more detailed information on these cases.

  • How to access the hard drive USB on E3000? Am I missing something?

I have my router configuration fine to the internet, as well as the media server.  I can't understand how to access the hard drive of my laptop, however.  The manual says to put 192.168.1.1 in the field the address of windows Explorer, but it gives me just the 'Setup' page for the router.

Am I missing something simple?  I use Windows XP.

Click on start - go to start > Run/start search and type "\\192.168.1.1" (without the quotes) and press on enter and it should ask the user name and password, the user name and password, use "admin" all lower case, and then click Ok... Now you should be able to see your USB... You must make a right click on it and select "Map network drive" and check the Enable box and below click Finish... It will map the USB on your computer... Once done, you will be able to send and receive data from your computer to the USB...
