How to access my server from a new computer, put in place?

I bought a new Dell Vostro 470 for my small business to replace the old computer that hosts the server for my small business. I've reassigned the drive for the server on the new computer to the correct component, but when I try to access the files server told me access denied and to communicate with the network administrator. The guy who set up the network is no longer with the company and I have no info on him, so I can't contact him. He asks me a password. I need to know how the transfer server to the new computer and the Admin to the server. I must run Cisco VPN Client Services and attendance for my business. On the old computer, the server's hard drive but also a reader of separately for the server, if that makes sense. So how I assign to the server hard disk to the new computer and have it on a separate drive? (C: and F :)

Also, I have a modem connected to the old computer so need to connect on the new computer so that it works?

Thank you

Nick
