• Error when you apply a patch to update - Standalone ESXi

  Good evening everyone,

  I currently have a single ESXi host with storage, a data store called ' Datastore1, I try to apply the latest patch to the in order to install a trial version of Win8. I am running version 5.0.0 469512.

  Initially, I tried to install the patch ESXi500-201112001 and gave me an error so I tried to install the latest patch, ESXi500-201209001, to see if it would do the trick, it didn't.

  So here's what I've done so far.  I downloaded the patches and uploaded to the root of datastore1.  I then activated ESXi Shell and SSH, off my VMs and put the host in maintenance mode. I then connected to the host using PuTTY.

  There are, I navigated to/vmfs/volumes/datastore1/and run the following command: -.

  update of vib esxcli software - filing < zipfilename.zip >

  This error with the following message:

  [MetadataDownloadError]
  Unable to download zip:/var/log/vmware/ESXi500-201112001.zip?index.xml deposit, to jump)

  Please see the log file for more details.

  I tried restarting the required host, the same result.

  the source file you are linking is a c MySQL belonging to the MySQL ODBC driver library. This means that you will need to obtain the MySQL ODBC sources of files driver, replace the original lib with the lib of this patch and complie the driver around.
  As an alternative, you can get in touch with MySQL support (log a service request) and ask an ODBC driver compiled containing the fix.

  Here are some of the steps to apply a patch on oracle 9i (9.2.0.7)
  Note: These are pre-installation steps that should be made just before the maintenance window begins

  Make sure you have Perl perl 5.00503 (or later version) - v

  You must use OPatch version 1.0.0.0.54 or later.
  Check the current version:

  $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/opatch version
  If not, install it. In the $ORACLE_HOME directory copy the p2617419_10102_GENERIC.zip and unzip the latter:

  CP p2617419_10102_GENERIC.zip $ORACLE_HOME.
  MV $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/$ORACLE_HOME/OPatch.bak
  CD $ORACLE_HOME
  unzip p2617419_10102_GENERIC.zip
  Recheck the current version and if it works:

  As a conditional requirements I must apply Patch 6400501 .  I read by read me file, I read this note under conditions:

  -Must have located this patch via a bug database entry and have the exact symptoms described in the bug entry.

  My question: what is the bug database entry? How can I find the patch in? How can I determine if this patch is suitable or not?

  There is nothing to do about this step, just make sure that you download the patch appropriate via the site Web of MOS and complete the rest of the steps in the README file.

  Entry database of bugs is the internal name of the site hosting for Oracle/bug fixes.

  I 10.2.0.2 DBs run on conf Dataguard on redhat. I must apply patch 5458753 DBs. I read the Readme, but there are 2 ' Instructions of Installation of Patch ' and ' special Patch Instructions ' section
  
  1 - What is the difference between these sections?
  2 - I know,
  (a) stop the observation process to disable fast switching
  (b) waiting for shutdown DB
  (c) stop DB primary
  (d) unzip the fix on Standby DB and change to this directory. "cd 5458753" and then run command "opatch apply.
  (e) unzip the primary fix on DB and change to this directory. "cd 5458753" and then run command "opatch apply.
  (f) primary DB startup
  (g) startup mount standby DB
  (h) to start the process of observation
  (i) check the status of the DG.
  (j) apply status with the command «opatch lsinventory» check patch and I have the ability to roll back this appy patch with '"cd 5458753 then' opatch rollback-id 5458753"

• How can you patch ESX rollback?

  I guess that the first part of the question is how to apply the patches... Do you use Crossover?  Or else you patch an image and then display a complete picture...?  Or you run remote commands to get/install the patch?  Other ways?

  I'm here to tell you that a boot from san configuration is the only way I know of restoration.  You break the lun and install patches.  If this does not work, restore you the snap.

  You'd probably never do.  (Except when the detected impact 2) :)

  For customers who have this requirement, we never charge patches.  It's always a cool version using a kickstart server.  If something is wrong with the new iso standard.  Go back us to the previous one and rebuild from scratch, back to the previous version.  This go around we this conversation.  Each server is the same ISO on the network.

  This is not enough; However, I thought I would at least give you some (bad) ideas.
