How to change a CDFS to NTFS flash drive

Hello. I have an old CDFS format flash drive. I want to retrieve and format it in NTFS. How can I do this? Thank you.

What is an additional part of the Flash Player which comes as a CD? I have
do not believe that this can be formatted.

You can format the real part of the reader flash like this:

Find it on "computer":

Right click, go to format. Replace the 'File system' drop down list NTFS.

I would advise against ever record directly onto a flash drive. For no reason I can understand this often broken leaves files behind.

Instead, just save it to your desktop and drag it to the usual flash drive (in Windows Explorer or the Finder).

  • How to change from fat to ntfs

I'm trying to update my bios, when I went from vista 32-bit to 64-bit windows 7, I had to change most everything in my laptop. My laptop is an acer with all amd products. He came with a very high range graphics, but I've improved it best I could. I continued to get problems such as that of crashing and things like the normal blue screen, so I did a bit of reading on the problem and found that I need to update my bios to accommodate improvements to the rest. NOW IS where the bat hurt. My file system (NTFS) is I think that I spelled correctly, however I tried and tried to update without success. That's when I looked at the properties of the specific file and he said down that (FAT) is the host file. This is my problem and if so how can I fix it. I worked on it for a year or better - I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY GRATEFUL FOR the HELP!

    Hi Timcruce,

As you are facing problems with the update of the BIOS (Basic Input Output System), I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the computer as they realese the BIOS updated.

Warning: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Changing the file system from FAT to NTFS is recommended in the Windows 7 operating system. However, the change of the file system is not bound with BIOS update.

You can see these articles for more information on the change of FAT to NTFS file systems:

  • How to: repair/reload XP from a Flash drive

Original title: I have a HP Netbook who don't has no drive CD how can I fix/reload XP from a Flash drive

I have a Compaq-mini-CQ100 NET accountant who doesn't have a CD player, OS is windows XP home, that the drive has bad sectors, which in fact no longer starts. I can't start in safe mode, I get the blue-screen-of-death with DLL missing. Currently I am running UBUNTU from a flash drive. How can I repair/reinstall XP via UBUNTU or a bootable flash drive. I think that it becomes common problems with tablet PC and Net-books

    Regards Mr C Gulliver

I would not hold your breath waiting for the Member States to create a download of XP home whether or not you have a valid license.  In fact, I wouldn't count on them for anything whatsoever.

If you do not have to any web site using a system that works, it's a problem.

I don't know if a copy of an older version of XP in the flash player works or not - I just made flash bootable XP Recovery Console drives for questions like yours.

You need to solve your problem of file missing the old fashioned way.

When you start in Recovery Console XP from a flash drive, you should be able to simply replace your missing file because XP has copies of it on your system in other places.

A copy of the file should be here:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

or depending on your installation, you can find it here:

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

But it might be one of your unspecified qurantined application antivirus/antimalwre (actually deleted) file.  It of more unknown information, through MS Answers forum request no system information when a new question is asked (you need to do now).

It is quite common for the XP Recovery Console or even installing XP does not recognize the SATA disks (at least when starting from CD).  There are dozens of different laptop models like yours then has no way for us to know that you have a SATA drive.

I have SATA drives too and do not have this problem, but I think that my system is afraid of me.

In order to get these SATA drives recognised (in general), you must enter the BIOS of your system and find the section where the interface for device is configured and temporarily SATA change to something the Recovery Console will recognize (since I don't see your BIOS, I can't tell you what it is), replace the missing file by copying , restart and change the BIOS to what it was before.

Be sure to take note of all the BIOS settings that you change so you can change them at the time where you did or if your situation deteriorates.

I also suggest that Hiren's Boot CD from time to time and they have download instructions and their stuff from a USB Pendrive to start here.  I've never seen Hiren require any setting BIOS on a SATA drive, but I don't have your system.

If this does not work, you should visit the Support of Compaq forums where this subject is a frequent topic of discussion.  You're not the first person in the world to have need to start their a USB device Compaq mini to fix something.  This is the Windows XP Help forum - not the Compaq help forum.

Good luck waiting on MS to help you!

    How to make this connection?

    Hello

You usually have an external USB CD/DVD drive to boot from the Windows XP disc or the Toshiba recovery disc.

But there is a method that allows you to install Win XP using the 2 GB USB key.
This is possible because the NB100 BIOS supports booting from USB key.

    Pease check this Web page:

I am trying to transfer the video I made using imovie on a flash drive, but it cannot be copied, the film is the 5.62 GB and Flash drive is 32 GB.

Probably, your USB is formatted for a PC and not Apple. Most of them is set form in format FAT 32 PC, or something similar.  This format limits any file size to 4 GB.   It must be in MAC OS extended (journaled) format. Order/Get Info lets you know how it is formatted.    If it's not MAC OS extended (journaled) Apple, you can reformat the drive to MAC OS extended (journaled) using the utility disc on your Mac application.    You must first remove all files from your USB drive to a different drive, because reformatting the flash drive will delete all the files it contains.  Once the flash drive is reformatted, you will be able to tailor your movie on this subject, assuming that other files do not use disk space.

  • How can I make USB mp3 player/flash drive bootable?

    Hello
I have a big problem. Less than a month ago, I backed up my computer using the latest version of Norton ghost 10.0. I then burned the data on a DVD and I kept it safe. today I encountered a problem, I just couldn't cess internet on my laptop, install/uninstall a program, or access help and support. so I got the DVD in the DVD drive backup, I open Norton ghost clicked recovery and then clicked on restore my computer. I told where to look for the backup and restoration began, but then I came across an error message that says the following:

Cannot complete the restore point recovery d:\Toshiba ghost image001.v2i

-EC8F178F error: unable to complete the restoration of recovery point: D:\Toshiba ghost image001.v2i.
-EC8F03F1 error: could not open the recovery point "D:\Toshiba ghost image001.v2i.
-EBAB03E9 error: internal error of Application: c0000005 Memory Access Violation: Application attempted to read memory at 034bac3c.

I have another way to restore the data, that it is thanks to an mp3 player or flash bootable disk, the computer, but on the flash disk, the operating system there. is it possible to do the flash drive bootable.
I would like to know this, because if it starts the flash or mp3 disc I can then delete the contents of the hard drive and restore data.

and also when you try to restore, he said a file or program using the sound trying to restore.

    can someone help,
    concerning

    Hello kamal

The best way to start the device in DOS mode is to use the external floppy drive. This disc is not expensive and if your data is so important, you can invest a few dollars to buy it. Using the startup disk that you'll be able to boot into DOS mode and do what you want to do.

I also recommend you to contact Norton and see if they have a solution just how to install the created image.

With mp3 player, you will not be able to start.
