How to change Windows Sync dividing the folders and files in alphabetical order

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

  • Windows Sync has divided the folders and subfolders in alphabetical ranking. I want my old transparent back and stopped synchronization partnerships. The only way that I can temporarily return the old display windows is to change the name of the folder. How can I stop Windows automatically it? Recent changes to your computer. I work towards a date limit and cannot stop windows from doing this and can not find an answer.
  • I have tried going to the Sync Center, but impossible to find a solution. Even tried Sync delete but Windows does not allow this.

Try turning off the center of synchronization to run at startup as follows: http://www.vista4beginners.com/Disable-Sync-Center.  In my opinion, who will take care of the problem.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Most PC manufacturers who don't give you the disks give you a partition on your hard drive that contains the images of the disks so that you can burn yourself.  You should check out.

When you say "change settings in both accounts' exactly what are the parameters what do you mean?  It is normal that many Windows settings to be on a per user basis.  For example. the desktop background is a 'definition' which is completely independent for each user.  You cannot set up a wallpaper for a user and hope that it displays desktop of another user.

    a. right click on the file or folder and then click Properties.

    b. click the Security tab.

    c. click on a user name or group under group or user names.

  • Easy transfer Windows spilled all my folders and files in the C: OS drive.

I don't know if I've done something right or if it is a real problem. I used my wired network and Windows Easy Transfer to transfer files and folders of old readers logics partioned 5 XP to my new family Win 7 Premium 64 bit, also with a hard drive partitioned. Transfer all the folders and files placed in the new Win 7 C: OS drive. What a nightmare! I had to return the computer to factory settings (out of the box) and all over again.

I should have been smarter. After all, how a stupid machine knowledge where to put each logical drives and folders without receiving instructions. But then it should have been a warning that the machine is not do miracles.

Caution: do not use Windows Easy Transfer if you have a partitioned hard drive.

    Hello

  • Within the last week, that all the folders and files on my hard drive were selected 'read only '.

I unflagged all the folders and files that I share on my home network, however, I am not able to rename them or save them on my PC from my laptop on my wireless network. This has happened since May 12 and I suspect an auto update changed or recover from something.

Running Vista Home Premium SP2 on PC

    Laptop is Windows 7

Thanks for getting back to me Mick!

I did a restore to 5/10 when I had no problem, but the problem persisted.

I'll have to try Norton support. This may be something they did.

In the meantime, I managed to change the names of files by connecting to the PC with the account of my wife who as co-owner had equal rights and the sign of the laptop is its ID as well so it worked, but it isn't always fair.

    Once again, thank you...

7 configure yourself: make sure you clickt on the box "Total control" (allow)

The order in which it appears is the order of your choice. To change the order,
Click the heading of the column that you want to sort. Click one
second time to change the Crescent in descending, or vice versa.

  • I want to print a complete list of the folders and files that are on C:, but do NOT want to use < PrntScrn >. Is there another way? (Windows XP home edition)

Print out c: folders and files.

    Such a command would be:

    dir d:/press s > %userprofile%\Desktop\directory.txt

who will place the file on your desktop.

But you'll probably find Directory Karen printer is easier and more convenient to use.

  • I have a laptop running XP pro with office 2003. All of a sudden all the folders and files in the folders have read only attribute applied.

This make all folders on the computer and all the files stored inside. The individual files are not performed. If I remove read-only folders and files and click OK, reopen the file and the attribute has been applied.
Any solution to this problem s.

    Dave

It's not a problem... it is a feature.

At a time in the past, Windows has decided that the read-only attribute means nothing, because it applies to files, so Microsoft 'solved' this bit to indicate to whom the file has been customized.  There are other methods available if you really don't want to do a write-protected file.  The details are explained in the following Microsoft KB article.  I recommend reading the article in full to understand what Microsoft did...

"You can not view or change the read-only or the attributes of system files in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7"

  • Does anyone know how to change windows to recognize the disks with 520 bytes per sector? Or one knows if Windows 7 will recognize no 512 bytes per sector drives? Reader vendors will move to larger areas in the future.

Windows does not recognize disks that are not 512 bytes per sector. Put readers at the point as unknown and I can't access it through the operating system. Is there something I can change to get Windows to recognize the disks that are not 512 bytes per sector?

    Hello MetalRain,

Thank you for your message.  Are you able to see the disks in disk management?  Try the following:
Click 'Start' > right click on 'My computer' > select 'manage '.
    Click on "disk management".
On the right, you see your drive?  If so, you can right click and it assign a drive letter.
Now you should be able to close this window and you can format your drive to NTFS, you can specify to change the bytes per sector 512 if you wish as seen HERE.
After assigning a drive letter, follow the steps below:
Click "Start" > click "Run" > type cmd in the text field and press "Enter."
In the command prompt, type format c:/FS: NTFS / a: 512 and press "Enter."
Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.
    See you soon

  • How to group folders or files in alphabetical order (A, B, C, D, E, F,...) in windows 7.__Please Suggest.

I M working on windows 7 ultimate and I did not find any option to group files or folders in alphabetical order, as in windows XP for example A, B, C, D etc separately. • Win 7, how to print a list of the folders and subfolders

I would like to print a list of directories, subdirectories, and files.  See a suggestion to use the command line and an older method of BACK.  Cannot get this to work.  If nothing in Win 7 is there a free or paid for the third-party program that will accomplish what I need.  Can not believe that there is nothing better than some old option BACK in Windows 7.

  • Irregular behavior of the task on all the folders and files list

    Hello:

The list of tasks that appears as well as hyperlinks to content on each of the personal folders (My Documents, my pictures, and my music), corresponding to each of my accounts 3 user (an admin and two limited), appears the same when I opened to what that is (in 2 music management accounts) and management of images in third-party including their corresponding symbols or icons that are both listed in the list of tasks and in the window itself.

Even in the help and support center, general information, articles and tutorials, when I search for 'Folder My Documents', among the results displayed are "Introduction to My Pictures Folder" and clicking on it opens the tutorial for "Introduction to personal folders?

All files on my PC (including the local drive (preload (c)), are also affected, showing the only music management in all its parts.

The file and folder tasks (rename, copy, move, delete, etc.) in the drop-down menu when you select a folder or a file, are ok and works correctly.

So, how can I correct this irregular behavior? without having to reinstall Windows if you please...

    Thank you and best regards.

  • View the folders and files together in alphabetical order rather than the records first, then files

It seems impossible to display files and folders together in alphabetical order.  Instead I see files first and then the files that I often (not always) want

I have sometimes seen them together but have no idea how this happens.

    Ferrière

    Hello Ferds,

In Windows Explorer, simply type an asterisk in the search engine to return all the files and folders in the folder parent.  You can click on any column heading to sort the results in this column.

    Mr. Doug in New Jersey

It is a good workaround (thanks Mr Wizard) If you want to view the files in this way - but the procedure does not correct how Explorer files are sorted in the records themselves. And you will have to do it every time you viewed a folder because the search procedure would not automatically from window to window transfer and may not be assigned to do.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
