How to check quality of the image

Hello. Im a graphic of small business start-up. I decide to try the software from Marcus to do my projects. My task; s is to make pdf from illustrator files and send them to the company of the printer to make copies. And I have a problem because the company printer won't print my files coz, they said ' you have too low quality images in your pdf, 300 dpi or more for this print in good quality. IM using illustrator to edit photos or add text to the bottom, then I .pdf file in illustrator.

And my question is how to check the quality of the pasted image (example I go to file > new > ok > ctrl + v a few photos of the memory and how to check the dpi have this photo)

In save the menu as a pdf, I have quality printer control

Thank you answare. See you soon

szeli,

You should be able to see in the information palette/Panel (with the checked objects) Document.

Your printer uses the wrong word when you ask a certain DPI in format PDF. It should be DPI (pixels instead of points).

In addition, 300 PPI is far from being a generally applicable/required value. The required value depends on how it is printed.

More is bound to tell about it.

  • Loss of quality of the image after you have placed?

Hi people, I could really use some advice here. Currently, I'm going to print a document and have encountered some problems in image quality.

More specifically, when I compare the quality of my original images (fit) to the quality of the images placed in InDesign, images in InDesign (and later, in the events of printing) are heavily pixelated.

I don't know if this image as an attachment is important enough to illustrate this problem, but the small window is open TIF image (and zoomed in) in Windows Picture and fax viewer and it is superimposed on the image when zooming-in in InDesign.

I've only used InDesign for a couple of years, so I really hope that I made an obvious mistake, but I can't seem to find a solution to this problem after having spent the afternoon on Google and Adobe forums trying to find a.

Windows Image & Fax Viewer is not really the best tool to inspect the images with. I suspect that your original image can be as pixelated as InDesign shows, while the Image Viewer smooth it on enlargement; It is certainly * not * show "real pixels as rectangles.

(Word is another program that did this same dirty trick - prompting complains like "my image looked better in Word," while in fact they are worst but blurred into oblivion.)

You need to see in a real program, such as Photoshop. (The actual pixel dimensions that Peter also claims would help.)

  • Color and the quality of the image information

    Happy new year

Digital images color corrections seem to be more and more important nowadays,

and as part of the workflow, I understand the relationship between the color information and the quality of the image correctly.

Photoshop CC IPC States that thereon:

Format JPEG retains all color information in an image, but it compresses the file size by selectively deleting data.

More compression, the better the image.

Does this mean that the quality of the image changes by the compression level (for example, JPEG), even if the same tonal RGB or CMYK range information is kept for the image in a file, regardless of the level of compression?

Unable to find information on this in the help.

Answers would be appreciated as always,

    EAD

JPEG splits RGB in Y of Luminance and Chrominance Cb, Cr

(by more precise nomenclature: coded inverse gamma numbers r 'B').

JPEG compression does not fear the lines of Luminance and Chrominance.

    JPEG reduced the number of levels of tones of the scale, less for Y, more for Cb, Cr nets;

mainly by reducing higher frequency components.

  • Improve the quality of the image after scanning

    Hello

    Environment: ECM 11.1.1.6

Is it possible to improve image quality after scanning? ECM have a specific component or function to manipulate the quality of the images?

    Kuba

    Not sure if I understand.

If you use ODC index / commit images scanned in the University Complutense of MADRID, then you have different options to clean up the image digitized, before committing.
Like, removing punch holes, cropping, smoothing by removing noise sound black, etc.

  • How do you prevent PDF presets to alter the quality of the image

Experimenting different PDF presets, I noticed with grayscale images in Photoshop, save to PDF using different presets, change image quality, more precisely the contrast.

So, it seems that saving an image in the 'bad' PDF preset could undo a lot of pre-press work. Is there a better way/format?

To get an idea of brute: there is a decrease of 8.7% in the percentage of black between 10% and 50% of the values (the beach) on a corner of the stage between the original in Photoshop and PDF high quality, who showed the same values, and PDF/X-1, which has compressed the range of 4 (about a decline of 8.7%) percentage points.

A visual assessment and idiosyncratic, four versions of the same image (Photoshop in grayscale, High Qualtiy PDF, PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-3), which included a step wedge and the color ramp, would rank the fidelity to the best original, high quality, at worst, PDF/X-1a.

The same image to grayscale in Photoshop CS6 was distilled (file > print > Adobe PDF) to PDF using without changing settings predefined PDF in distiller Acrobat XI.

The screenshot next composit (all four images images on the screen copy screen, rearrange them, and then reduce the image to a 120 dpi to 4.2 "wide (including the text) gives an idea of the differences, but much was lost, it's here.)

    Walton

I can't pretend that it's simple. There was a lot of choices to accommodate the many different requirements of professional pre-press. Same people experienced can fight to get the color corresponding to the work because they know that it should.

The key thing to remember is that in the color management, it is never a profile in question. There are always two (or four, or six...). One, the source profile, described the colors in your document. The other, the destination profile, describes a device. This device could be the screen that you discover on the printer you are printing on, or a device that is simulated.

So, by looking at three PDF files on-screen.

'High quality '. Source: mast 20%. Target: your screen. It's probably closer to the color displayed by Photoshop, which will do something similar.

PDF / X 3. Source: mast 20%. Target: output mode, coated FOGRA27. Then you must convert more using two profiles to see on the screen.

PDF/X-1 a. DeviceGray (no marking). This (by the rules of PDF / X, but not PDF in general) is the gray channel of the output mode, coated FOGRA27. So no converson up here, but it will be converted using two profiles to see on the screen.

Why FOGRA27? Because you him to choose, or in default, in your settings to distill. This is not a good idea, unless you know that it is the correct output for your printing needs device. This information must come from your printer, and you can't do really good PDF / X files without it. If you choose at random, you can expect more and unpredictable color changes.

  • Loss of quality when the image resizing

I want to resize an image to make it smaller, but going to the size of the image and use that diminishes the quality. My original image is 370 x 193 pixels. How do I resize without quality loss?

Are what resampling method you using?  Automatic work probably, but you start with a certain file smale, so going smaller is forced to lose details.

  • Quality of the image after resizing

Is it possible to resize images without loss of quality. I currently use SnagIt to capture the images and resize it. I have then insert the jpg file in Robohelp 10 and produce documents printed in Word.

Try to use the PNG rather than JPG format. SnagIt is as good as it gets with the resizing. It also depends what you resize and how that was produced, where you have no control. Also, there is a point beyond which no resizing will lose clarity.

Other tricks are not so scale but use Snagits Cut Out options to lose part of what you capture. For example, some screens may have lots of white space which can be cut rather then to resize the image.
