I need help! "An access denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an administrator account to perform changes specifice. »

This is the message I get trying to disable my system startup items Configuration utility. I never had this problem before. I don't have my account and a guest account.

I need help! Thank you

A common cause of this is a spyware, Trojan horse or other parasite which means it's time to analyze for all these items. Be sure to include free AVG AntiSpyware in the analysis.

Then, when you have a clear idea, there are no parasites try TWEAKUI and set the account you want to auto logon.

Good luck! Please rate me upward if you find my post helpful. Thank you!

Given that you are not using the standalone SP3 Installer AND since McAfee was working at the time of installation, that's what I'd do (well, I would do it only if I was almost 100% convinced there was no malware on my system):

    1. download the McAfee removal tool.

    2. download the installation file for the free version of Avira AntiVir.

    3. download the standalone SP3 Installer.

    4. download the standalone installer of IE8.

    5. physically disconnect from the Internet.

6 turn off the automatic updates (temporarily).

    7 uninstall McAfee.

8 run the McAfee removal tool to make sure that all other loose ends are supported.

    9 Uninstall SP3.

    10. run the system restore, select the before date SP3 has been installed.

11 uninstall IE8 (and IE7, if necessary). Reason: It is important to be at the level of IE6.

    12 install the SP3. Reset.

    13 Installing IE8. Restart twice.

    14 install AntiVir.

15 re - connect to the Internet.

    16. download and install the update of AntiVir.

17 go into Windows Update and install all post-SP3 SECURITY update (stay away from any optional object).

    Thomas,

Follow the step on the next page to start the computer in Mode safe.
Once you start the computer Safe Mode, the built-in "Administrator" account should appear. I'm not saying that your user account is not an administrator account, but just to be sure to use the one built for all purposes it may serve you.

I traced down on the threads here that it's a common problem with the vise Installer application that many use to install their software, so they do not install for the same reason. Apparently the cause of changes in security in mac OS.

You may need to restore the permissions on your user account. To do this, start on your recovery partition (hold down the command and R during startup) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In the Terminal, type: 'resetpassword' (without the), press return, and then select the admin user. You do not have to reset your password. Click the icon of your Mac hard drive at the top. In the list box below, select the user account that has problems. At the bottom of the window, you will see a box labeled restore Home Directory permissions and ACLs. Click the button to reset there. The process takes a few minutes. When you're finished, restart.

Apparently an involuntary change of administrative privileges or permissions (Windows XP Pro, SP3) keeps me updated Media Player version 9 to 11 v. and updated virus Security Essentials definitions.
For Media Player, wmsetup.log reports access denied error 80070005 and UpdSpAPI.log reports access denied for the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Settings\MP3Encoding\LowRate registry key. In regedt32, I'm blocked from display HKLM\...\MediaPlayer\Settings and below, and "are allowed to view the current permission settings, but... can make a change." Except that I can't. I can enter the change but get «...» Access is denied"trying to apply them. So this is the first problem that I need help.

  • "Access denied" error XP trying to access an external hard drive used on Windows 7

    Hello

I used my external hard drive as usual on my XP machine for months, but yesterday I had to use it on another computer running Windows 7. Windows 7 asked something like "do you want to enable access to this hard drive?" and I clicked Yes thinking that it wouldn't cause any problems (showed a green bar that drains into the upper part of the window), but now that I'm trying to use it again on my XP machine I get an access denied error such as permissions changed. I just installed service pack 3, but which did not help.

Help it would be greatly appreciated the fixing, I'm happy to just continue to use the external drive on my XP machine - use it on other Windows 7 machine was just one time.

    Thank you!

Whether Real Player, Windows Media Player etc none will play.

You can also download and run rkill to stop the process of problem before you download and scan with malwarebytes

If it does not remove the problem and or work correctly in normal mode do work above in safe mode with networking

  • Computer Dell laptop, they put as administrator with password created now says access denied need to log on as an administrator. But I did not log Administrator icon

I've had my laptop by dell. on their return, I was signing the administrator with password created. It was working fine until I got the blue screen of death, and then in the mist to restart on the desktop, the windows 7 installation began as I receive it. Well, I got a few documents and photos that I had and they are no longer under one account I created. Also, now I can't print it said access denied need to log on as an administrator. But I did not log Administrator icon more. Help, please!

    I could do this:

    • Reference Dell request the logon credentials.
    • Plan in advance and create, test and document a spare, even admin account that you have a spare House key. Relying on a single unique administrator account is far too risky!
  • Just as a reference: how to FIX the annoying 'White Screen Of Death"with Silverlight and"Access denied"error with computer management.

Well, I just hope that someone who has met these two mistakes will find my dose. It might save a lot of pointless research on the net.

    SYMPTOMS:
-When you try to open a Silverlight application in your browser (Firefox, Chrome, IE, etc), your browser displays only a white area. When you right click on the white area, you can click on the Silverlight properties.
-If you try to start "Computer management" by clicking on the 'My Computer' icon and select 'Manage', you get the following error: 'access denied '.

    CAUSE:
The following errors are usually the result of a bad environment variable. In this case the "windir" environment variable does not work correctly. You can try running the management of the computer to start > run and entering:
    %windir%\system32\mmc.exe/s %windir%\system32\compmgmt.msc

Notice the between the characters of percentage windir environment variable. If you run the above code, you will probably get an error saying that MMC cannot open the file. Look closely at the path, it's back!
You will probably find any % somewhere.

What actually happened here is the variable windir made reference to another variable: systemroot
Why this creates problems, I'm not sure. Also, I don't understand what made then variable windir change.

    SOLUTION:
-From your desktop or Explorer: right-click on "My computer" and select "Properties".
-Click on the "Advanced" tab and then click "Environment Variables".

    http://pcauthorities.com/images/advanced-system-properties-XP.jpg

-Did the windir variable. Together to "C:\Windows" do not think that it is already set to "C:\Windows", because windows then tells you. Double-click it to know for sure.

    http://www.adminxp.com/windowsvista/envvariabl.PNG

-See, I told you! Change this to "C:\Windows".

  • "Access denied" error when updating driver

My monitor is an HP w2207h (screen 22 "HD flat).  I get "Access denied" error when you try to manually update the driver by using Device Manager.  When I use the installation of HP or Windows Update utility, I just got a message that an error has occurred.  I've recently updated my NVIDIA driver using windows update (VISTA 64).  On reboot, I get a message asking me to select a driver for my HP flat screen monitor.  When I try to install the driver by using the auto option or by downloading manually from HP, I get an "Access denied" error message.  I am the administrator on the computer.  Can you help me solve this problem?

It is alittle bit of a lenghty process, but it should help to solve the problem. Follow the steps in this KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315539 to show the devices 'hidden' in Device Manager. Browse the list of drivers installed for the graphics card and remove all drivers that are "grayed out" then uninstall the drivers for your monitor. Restart the system and try to install the driver at that time here.

What can be produced is installed the drivers can interfere with the currently installed driver and this should allow the system to update the driver correctly.

  • Movie Maker fails with general access denied error

Windows Movie Maker 6 in Windows Vista SP2 32 bit produces a general access denied error and does not run when an attempt is made to run by normal methods. Right click on the shortcut or icon and choosing "Run as Administrator" results in the successful launch of the program.

I went to the properties of Moviemk.exe and given full control permissions to the single user and also to the administrator, but the file still does not start by double-clicking.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

    Thank you

    Ron Carruthers

    Hello Ron_C,

In Windows Vista and Windows 7, the number of items must be run in administrative mode. Even logged on as administrator, you are running as a standard user.

The Movie Maker 2.6 installer must be run with administrator privileges.

    1. Select the language
    2. click on the download button.
    3. click on "Run" to start the installation.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

I can't connect to Windows Live family safety.

I had it installed previously and it worked but he kept asking to open a session. When I tried to connect, I get the error.

I uninstalled it and re-installed, but still the same. After installation, I can not connect. I get this error message.

    Access denied

    Error code 80070005

I also had installed "Action Alert" because I'm under Win 7 and the time allocation feature works on Win 8 so I used Action Alert for the feature of time allocation.

    I uninstalled it also.

    Any help greatly apppreciated.

    Hi Wayne,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forum.

Let me try and help you with this problem.

The "Access denied" error '80070005' error Code indicates that you do not have the permissions to change the parental control settings.

    1. Are you logged on to the computer as administrator?
    2. Are you signed in to the Family Safety with ID Parent website?

First, check the date and time is set correctly.
Right click on the clock in the system tray. Select adjust Date and time.

Check and correct the month, day, year, hour, minutes and time zone.

Reboot if you have changed all the foregoing.

I would also refer to suggestions provided by "Christian_Co" and check if it helps:

Note: Microsoft Safety Scanner: data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.
