  At first, I must say that, out of the box, State can be done with the original recovery disk and if you don t have what may be a problem.
  If this phone works with Vista preinstalled original there may be able to do this, use the disk HARD recovery option.

  Please check this option.

  In the end, I must say that I was not able to identify this model of laptop and therefore give you more information please be so kind and post here exactly the model number (PAxxx-xxxxx) and the name of the model (A300-xxx).

  I have a laptop model Toshiba Satellite A300-1J1 (who doesn't have a HDMI) & just Toshiba XV551D 40 '' HD tv. You want to be able to connect the laptop to the tv with the best possible picture quality, a DVI to HDMI cable would be better than the monitor standard 15pin cable external monitor/TV?

  My laptop has an IEEE1394 Jack, I presume it's the same as a DVI plug? (I could be wrong tho!) Also read the manual of the TV, he said unless I connect HDMI to HDMI, I would need a separate audio cable?

  Looking to buy all the necessary cables rather than go shopping online so please advise as soon as possible, I want to make sure I get correct leads of the judgment.

  First, please note that the VGA port provides the analog signal.

  It s is NOT possible to convert the analog signal into digital signal! You can convert a digital signal to analog but the analog to digital is not possible and will not work with HD TV.

  If you have already changed the partitions of HARD drive and deleted files from the HARD disk, then your HARD drive recovery is too bad!

  But to make sure that the HARD drive recovery is not possible please press F8 immediately after the power of the laptop. Usually a start menu should appear and you should be able to choose the option called fix my computer. Then you should be able to choose recovery option.

  But like I said that this is only possible if your HARD drive was not formatted!

  If you have formatted the HARD drive and changed partitions then you will need a Toshiba DVD recovery that you have not because you didn t he create at the beginning. Is this good? Well, then you must order the recovery DVDs if you want to retrieve the laptop to factory settings.

  You can clean the cooling fans with a jet of compressed air.
  This allows to remove dust from the fans.

  I think you the problem is related to a bad keyboard language setting.
  It seems that your keyboard type does not match the language setting in Control Panel-> regional & language Options control

  Maybe you use an English * UK * available instead of English * U.S. *.

  Try to change that and check if it helps.

  I was wondering if anyone knows how to recover the Satellite A300-1J1. My laptop has Windows Vista family premium, I'm not too sure about the number of 'bits' because the sticker at the bottom of my laptop is faded. My serial number is 8811896Q.

  In the past, we discussed very often on this theme. In any case, it works this way:
  -When you use recovery DVD for the installation of the OS all disk is deleted including data on all partitions
  -If you use HARD drive recovery option only C partition is deleted and all data saved on the second partition will always be there
  So please try installation of recovery of HARD drive following the instructions of the Toshiba document.

  I would like to clean my laptop after 9 months of good use. Well,.

  I'm not talking about cleaning the keyboard or LCD, of course, I'm no fan talking inside. I've noticed recently that this laptop is producing heat wrong lately (especially on the left side of the touch pad - location of HARD drive I guess?). So, while I'm shopping, I found a pill that can spray some kind of liquid. I read the instructions on the label, it could be used almost anywhere to clean and remove dust (LCD, keyboard, DVD and many tips) seems fine.

  I've always heard those for cleaning of ventilation of the laptop and its fan, so it is wrong to use it, I bought? If not, what is my alternative and how to clean the fan and vents for better management of traffic and the air heat?

  You get Win7 to older models of laptops. Everything you can possibly do is to order Upgrade DVD but hey Win7 Toshiba DVD facilities can not be ordered.

  Of course, you can get Microsoft Win7 DVD facilities and clean OS install. Download page for all the drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba.

  I have a question.
  I have a Toshiba Satellite A300, which came with Windows Vista.
  Normally I have the recovery with the normally pre-installed utility partition.
  After that I formatted the system partition, I installed a clean and fresh Windows 7 copy.

  My question is this.
  Since the recovery partition does not get soiled with, is there not a way to install the disk recovery utility hard back in recovery of Windows of F8 before the boot options?

  Please don't tell me that I need to have the recovery disk.
  I already did, I just want to find a solution because it is not that hard for someone who accidentally formatted the system partition and had not created the disks, but the recovery partition. My guess is to do some modifications in the files of the Windows recovery environment that are launched when you use the option to repair my computer at startup, because normally, HARD drive recovery utility appears as one of its tools-options.

  The problem is that I don't have to where these files are, maybe (C:\boot?)
  Currently, I am trying to see if a facility upgrade of windows 7 on windows vista will keep options for hard drive recovery then maybe I will find what it takes.

  Satellite A300-17N doesn t have serial port and AFAIK no Satellite A300 was equipped with this port.

  But I saw a few online shops, they listed an Express card that offers the serial port (RS232). I found one on Amazon:

  I think it would be easier and less expensive way for serial port. :)

  It s your choice what joystick you want to buy. Go to a computer store and take a look at all the joysticks and buy one of them.

  Normally you need a driver for the joystick, but the joystick should be bundled with an installation disk that contains the drivers.

  I got a second hand Satellite A300 which was to be thrown out due to a defective DVD.
  I fixed the DVD and have a perfect system.

  On opening the box, I discovered that there 2 x 250 GB hard drives. I checked CMOS and show the 2 drives. However, Vista displays only the a drive.

  Excuse my ignorance, but how do I access to the second drive?

  I have Satellite A300 with two hard drives and each HARD drive has another operating system. Both hard drives are recognized correctly.
  I put t know what the problem is here, but the two hard disks should be recognized automatically.
  Try to set the BIOS to default settings and check again.
  Try to start the check and install Microsoft bootable disk if the two hard disks are displayed in Setup.

  I just hope that there is not a hardware problem.
