How to clone a T400 using Acronis image
I just received a shipment of 25 T - 400 ThinkPads (Vista Business) and have created a master image that contains all applications and settings, I want and I want to take an image of the HARD drive and clone it to the other 24 portable. I tried the 'C' of Imaging reader and get the picture of the "C drive" on another T-400 without success. I have to drive HARD whole, including scores of factory 'Q' and 's' too many images? I'm not too sure if there are any files that need to be changed after the cloning to maintain the identity system - for example the serial number. If anyone can provide guidance, I would certainly appreciate it and I thank you in advance for any advice.
I try to boot from the Acronis bootable media and make an image file of the entire disk and save it to a network share. Then start the second computer to the Acronis bootable media and restore the image from the network share, crushing all the partitions on the destination disk.
Have you used the factory VLK windows install or you will close it and use the COST numbers for each machine?
The serial number is in the BIOS, not the hard drive.

T61 - unsuccessful attempt to upgrade the HDD using "Acronis True Image - disk clone".
T61, Win XP Pro,
Problems with the free space on HDD - disk(160GB) factory original is more than 90% full.
There are a lot of existing user settings and the user information on the HARD drive - of the specific settings for different network environments (home network, company network, VPN, etc.), specific applications, a lot of drivers for specific devices, many documents and photos and other information.
So, we need to upgrade the disk, but we do not want to go back to factory state - we want to keep all existing user settings and user information.
The existing drive was dismantled and connected to a standard desktop PC.
And using "Acronis True Image Home" the existing drive has been cloned again drive WD Scorpio Black 320 GB.
There is not any errors during the cloning process.
But when we set up the new drive of the laptop, the OS has not started - black screen with blinking cursor only flashing white dash (top left). So, we put back the old disk, in order to work.
After cloning, we see the new disk is similar, as it is on the old drive. There are two partition - hidden, system partition partition with Windows XP and all user folders and documents. Thus, we believe that the problem is only in part "start".
Everyone can us advice what is the problem.
Or we let another solution how to change the drive, but without going to the factory condition.
Thank you

If I remember, Acronis backup can actually make a real clone (of everything, or the details of my choice) of my entire disk/Partition, and Windows 7 backup will be only some backup (Microsoft?) Programs, including the OS Windows 7, right?
- The Windows backup tool will save user files. It will not support the system files (unless you choose them explicitly, which is not a good idea).
- Windows Image tool will create an image of the system partition. It is a very basic tool that is sometimes capricious.
- Acronis image backup option is similar to the Windows backup tool, but with more options.
- The image of Acronis image option is a tool for creating image full maturity with a much better functionality and flexibility of the Windows image tool.
- Acronis image costs money.

For example, once I allow and image and download it, can I use this image even on a flyer for the public, a poster, a newsletter and e-newsletter and social media?
Usually, I tend to create a flyer and then expand this leaflet in a post and then make a PDF of this brochure and post online.
Please let me know if this is good practice or how to on this subject.
Thanks for any comment on this.
You can use the image as much as you want. Here is the license agreement.

How to change the code to use the image on stage instead of in the library?
Hello
The following code, I found on the Web site is for the use of the image that is in the library. But how to change it works with the image on stage. Because I don't want to use from the library.
The second question - is it AS2 or AS3 code. If it is AS2 code then do let me know how to change to work with AS3.
Animator = CreateEmptyMovieClip('animator',1);
bg_1 = animator.attachMovie('bg_mc','bg_1',1);
bg_2 = animator.attachMovie('bg_mc','bg_2',2);
bg_1._x = bg_1._width / 2:
bg_2._x = bg_2._width / 2:
Speed = 1;
cloudWidth = 380;
animator.onEnterFrame = function() {}
bg_1._x = speed:
bg_2._x = speed:
If (bg_1._x < = - bg_1._width) bg_1._x = cloudWidth;
If (bg_2._x < = - bg_2._width) bg_2._x = cloudWidth;
}Thank you.
There is no need to clamp the end if this isn't in the library and this is the code AS2 below is code in AS3 when it is at the point:
(i) convert your first image in a music video with the name of the instance «bg_1»
(II) convert your second image in a music video with the name of the instance 'bg_2 '.
(III) shares:
var speed: Number = 1;
var cloudWidth:Number = 380;
bg_1.x = bg_1.width/2:
bg_2.x = bg_2.width/2:
this.addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, fn);
function fn(e:Event):void {}
bg_1.x = speed:
bg_2.x = speed:
If (bg_1.x<= -bg_1.width)="" bg_1.x="">=>

How to clone a Dual Boot XP Installation with only files Bootloader on C:\
For me one of the hardest things to do with a problem in a discussion text is to indicate clearly what disk and partition that I want to talk. For those who need a refresher in the nomenclature of charger for the startup of Microsoft, it's here. Others may wish to move on to the next paragraph. The specification of a given partition is of the form multi (a) disk (b) rdisk (c) partition (d). But for any ordinary computer, a = b = 0, so we cannot forget for the discussion thereon. The c value is the number of the disk in the boot order, with the boot drive with c = 0. The value d is the partition number with the first partition on the disk with d = 1.
In the interests of my presentation that follows, I will refer to rdisk (0) partition (1) as r0p1, rdisk (1) partition (3) like r1p3, etc to save space and we hope to maintain a clarity of thought.
My intention was to clone successfully my dual boot Windows XP Edition family, and Windows XP Pro installation from a larger drive to a smaller drive. Unfortunately, technical cloning of hard disk Partition Wizard Home failed due to the fact that there is more data on disk more capacity that fits on the smaller disk. To be precise, there are a score of additional data on the largest drive F:\ r0p4. So I used Partition Wizard Home to the clone C:\ r0p1 (the system partition that has the XP bootloader files), D:\ r0p2 (Windows XP Pro) and r0p3 E:\ (Windows XP Home) one at a time. Because I'm using a disk controller hard PATA TX2 promise with the bios settings fixed, the only way to change the order in which the bios starts the disks is to change disks data wiring. I made that as simple as possible by using the two captains of PATA. Note that the partitions that I cloned were G:\ r1p1 H:\ r1p2 and I:\ r1p3.
To help the reader understand the placement of hard drive partition, repeat myself below.
C:\ r0p1 Windows Bootloader files only (System, active) Bootloader of Windows r1p1 only file G:\
Windows XP Pro H:\ r1p2 r0p2 D:\ Clone Windows XP Pro
R0p3 Windows XP Home Edition (Boot) I:\ r1p3 E:\ Clone Windows XP Home
R0p4 F:\ data partitionAfter cloning, I made the following changes to starting XP r0p1 and r1p1 Chargers. I added the ability to each Boot.ini file to start, r0p2, r0p3, r1p2 or r1p3 to eliminate the duty the wiring to study how the work was going. I have created a boot loader diskette bootable with the same exact boot loader files in it, too.
I discovered the original disc start, I could successfully start all four of XP with the r0p1 bootloader or the floppy boot loader. But when I switched the order of disc, only the floppy drive would start in all four of XP. The bootstrapper on r0p1 never appeared.
I take this to mean that a redirect command where Windows is to search the bootstrapper may be necessary. I boot from my Windows XP SP3 slipstreamed boot drive and access the repair console. First I ran bootcfg/list and to my surprise, there is no entry found. I took this to mean that windows searches for the bootloader files in the right place. Is it possible to redirect windows to their position? Think I remember reading something on the redirection of the search for the bootstrapper files. I also thought about the command that rewrites the MBR, but got a warning that my MBR was specially built and serious consequences could occur, so I'll stop before making a misinformed choice.
While I'm hoping for a generous person offers help, I got back to the top of all partitions on both disks using Acronis True Image. Then if worst comes to worst, I can experiment with the controls of recovery without fear of losing all my work so far.
Best regards
MaxI finally discovered that the two related errors that I made which prevented me from being able to start the operating systems Windows XP cloned using the files of Bootstrapper on the cloned C:\ partition. Unfortunately, I had never taken the time to check the veracity of 'files bootloader being on the C:\ partition cloned'. In fact the original C:\ partition was a primary partition, then the so-called C:\ partition "cloned" was a logical partition. This fact makes no difference for the boot loader diskette XP that I had built, because he provided the bootloader files in a separate environment to that of the two hard drives. But because the partition of the C:\ drive "cloned" was logical and not primary, there's no way I could do the C:\ partition "cloned" active, because only a primary partition can be active. And the manufacturing process an active primary partition is crucial, precisely because it tells the computer where the Windows XP bootloader files.
In my case after that I discovered that the C:\ "cloned" was logical, I used Partiton Wizard to convert it to a primary school. But even in this case, Windows XP could not find the XP boot loader. It was only when I started Wizard Partition a disk using and marked the partition C:\ cloned as assets that the bootloader has finally appeared.
Even in this case I was not completely out of the Woods. Because I had left the original source of the operating systems that are copied to the computer while the problem of bootloader, Windows had kept the previous drive letter assignments after that hard drives starting positions were exchanged. So when I started out in what should have been Windows Home on E:\ drive, I discovered that Windows had kept the previous letter of partitions I:\. And the drive system has even changed the C:\ drive to drive G:\.
Less than a year, I would have thrown to the top of my hands which happened and began on with the cloning operation. But because I googled for Windows XP system or start letter has changed, I discovered that what I had to do was to go into the registry and swap disks back E:\ and I:\ value names, and do the same for the discs back, C:\ and G:\. And when I got to Windows XP Pro, I also had to swap the disks back D:\ and H:\ value names. The only drive on that I had not to swap names was my original data F:\ disc.
Finally, I believe that it is time for me to say why I went to all this trouble because I leave the two disks on the computer. 2 years 1 TB WDC Green Player is coupled to the drive controller Promise TX2 PATA is to use a SATA converter IDE, during the five year drive natively 300 GB Maxtor PATA. Using the free software software Disk Bench with the windows pagefile disabled, I repeatedly timed 480 MB creating files on both hard drives on all the different partitions and there seems to be an advantage of the maximum speed of 10 Mbps on the old Maxtor PATA drive converted SATA drive. But the speed of creation for the two ranges of 20 MB/sec to 65 MB/s using the PATA drive, while the beaches of SATA drive about 20 MB/sec-55 MB/sec. It would be nice to point out, however, that the WDC Green drive is environmentally friendly, but not a 7200 RPM drive. I plan to study if measurements with Disk Bench with the exchanged boot disks and the disabled swap file will make a difference in the time it takes to create the file.
Best regards
Max

How to clone a hard drive replace 1 TB HD with 4 TB SSHD?
I have a HP Envy 700-215xt and need more quickly and more storage so I bought a 4TB SSHD to replace the 1 TB HD. But I could not copy the original HD in the SSHD using Seagate DiscWizard. Acronis software cloning could not too much because the hard drive is not detected (inactive), it may be blocked by something? How to clone the disk? Thank you!
Thank you! Dundar!
Finally, I could copy the original HD HP to the SSHD using EaseUS Todo Backup free 7.0. Acronis (I) could not detect the hard drive HP (inactive?). I like EaseUS Todo Backup free 7.0 which is software free and can clon all HD to any DH (any size & any). Thanks EaseUS Todo Backup!

VmWare Workstation 7.1 - Unable to P2V and seems does not support disk Acronis image images
Hello.
I'm trying to convert my computer into virtual machine using the Conversion Wizard in the VMware Workstation 7.1.
My hardware is: Intel Core i7-920/6 GB of RAM/2x0.5Tb HDD/ATI HD4800. OS = Windows 7 x 64 Ultimate.
I need to convert only 1 partition on disk 1 which has the OS and all S/W installed. The partition size is 150 GB allocated space = 72G, before the conversion has been defragmented and check-disked (chkdsk/f).
The location of the target is a 'new virtual machine', located on a huge USB - HDD (K:\VM\vmWsXxx-WI7\), of course - I have access to all drives and places, and of course - there is enough free space on the target disk.
The problems:
(1) when I am trying to convert all the timeI'm getting the"failed to take.
Instant error message of the volume of the source. In a log file I also see this message - "Vsnap didn't"admin rights.
Purpose (!) I am connected with a user who belongs to a local "Administrators" group. And 'VMware Agent Service' service is running on the same user account. So, I guess - it must be enough to make Vsnap has all the permissions it needs! :-\
(2) I also tried another way of P2V - I created a disk image of my partition with an Acronis True Image Home 2010 and tried to put this file to disk image as the source for the conversion of VmWare Wizard. But he reportedthe error - 'file may be corrupt or format not supported ". Makes me think that there might some bugs - in Acronis image that makes the supporting incompatible disk images or VmWar!
My question is - HOW to with SUCCESS CONVERT MY COMPUTER to VM using a VmWare Workstation 7.1 or any other tool?
Sub question is - why declare VmWare disk support Acronis image images but does not in a real?
Or (if it supports their) there may be an incorrect error message - "file may be corrupt or format not supported". Maybe he should point out something else.
What I tried:
ensured all need services began a) this:
net start
UFAD-ws60
net start "tcp/ip netbios support.
net start swprv
net start vss
(b) I run shell commands - "writers vssadmin list,"vssadmin list shadows"- the two commands work fin, so assume VSS working properly."
(c) have tried to run this long shell script
CD %systemroot%\system32
net stop vss
net stop swprv
regsvr32 ole32.dll
regsvr32 vss_ps.dll
vssvc /Register
regsvr32 /i swprv.dll
regsvr32 /i eventcls.dll
regsvr32 es.dll
regsvr32 stdprov.dll
regsvr32 vssui.dll
regsvr32 msxml.dll
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 msxml4.dll
BTW, I got a lot of error messages about this script:
The module "swprv.dll" was loaded but the call to DIIRegisterServer failed with the error code 0 x 80070715.
The module "eventcls.dll" was loaded but the call to DIIRegisterServer failed with the error code 0 x 80070715.
The "es.dll" module has been loaded but the DIIRegisterServer entry point was not found.
Make sure 'es.dll' is a valid DLL or OCX file and try again.
The "vssui.dll" failed to load module.
The "msxml.dll" failed to load module.
The "msxml4.dll" failed to load module.

How to clone a tab in Firefox 25.0.1 for Ubuntu? Can't seem to do it and there is little or no info to do so. Is a simple right-click in the opera.
There are two possible ways to clone a tab of firefox under ubuntu:
With the help of history:
(1) right click on the back/forward buttons of the browser that opens to the history of the page. (You can also do the next step directly on the arrows, but if you have opened the history you can choose which page to open from history, rather than directly open the previous or the next).
(2) press on (and continue to hold on) the CTRL and click on one of the pages of history.
Click on one of the pages with the middle mouse button.(3) now, after doing one of the steps in the second point, it will open a new tab with the history of the old tab and the starting page will be the page you chose in the history.
Wihout using history
If you attempt to drag and drop the tab as if you were re - arrange it, keep the Ctrl key before releasing the mouse button while dragging the tab.
This will do the same as above, except that you get to choose a place clone tab in the tab bar, and the first page of the cloned tab is the same as the original.Hope this has been helpful.

I think I bought the latest version of Airport Extreme. It is the unit which is rectangular, is about 6 to 7 w., etc. I have some basic questions that I do not understand:
1. How will I know if I have the latest firmware for this device? I read a few posts that make it sound as if it was just automatically updates. Is this true?
2. can someone tell me how to change the password used to connect to my wireless network?
Thank you very much!
Chris
If a firmware update is available, AirPort Extreme flashes orange.
The most up-to-date version of the firmware is 7.7.3.
You can see what version you currently have the following on your Mac...
Open Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the image of the AirPort Extreme
Look for the Version
If the new firmware was available, you will see a button update here
To change the wireless network password...
Click on edit in the window smaller than you watched just to check the firmware version
Click on the Wireless tab at the top of the next window
Go back / change the wireless password and enter a new password
Do the same thing to check
Click Update at the bottom right of the window and give the airport a minute full for restart

How to install Windows XP using USB Flash Drive in Windows 7?
I m windows 7 and want to install windows xp, how to install windows xp using a usb flash drive. I have the iso file from xp.
Hello
The Microsoft Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool is designed for the installation of Windows 7, is not for the installation of XP.
I suggest that you use Google that Microsoft does not support what you want to do.

MSXML.dll, msxml4.dll and vssui.dll it is not a surprise because these dll does not exist on Win7 x 64 in the %SystemRoot%\System32 directory.
I found msxml4.dll in SysWow64 - registered. But msxml.dll and vssui.dll are really do not exist on Win7 x 64. Then, for sure - this script itself is the problem!
What other options I do P2V conversion?
Are there configuration problems more can I fix it to make the work of P2V conversion?
Kind regards
