  I suggest you withdraw his account of the device and add it again. Also if he has 2 - step verification enabled on his Outlook account turn it off until he gets his account set up with the device and then turn on checking of 2 steps again. It would certainly help.

  You can open it from Adobe Acrobat DC application on the file menu > open. If you did request by default option to open the PDF, you can directly click on PDF.

  You can also right click on PDF and select open in Adobe Acrobat DC

  You mean Outlook, the standalone version and not the new iteration of Live (live.com) mail to Outlook.

  I think that the default is to open in a new tab in the last active window, but you can check it out here and replace the default value:

  (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

  (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste link.o and make a pause so that the list is filtered

  (3) double-click the preference browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external and change it to 3 and OK change

  The options are:

  -1 = apply the setting in Options > general > tabs of external links (default)
  3 = open external links in a new tab in the last active window
  2 = open external links in a new window
  1 = open external links in the last active tab replaces the current page

  As far as I can see there is no easy way to do this. However, an easy option is to have the Thunderbird in the system tray on hitting the close instead of closing button. The add-on "Minimize on start and close" for Thunderbird accomplishes this mission and to close all what you need to do is right-click on the icon in the taskbar, and then click close to close actually it. I hope this helps.
