How to copy Internet favorites on a Windows 8?

When moving to new computers, that I always copied my favorite Internet shortcuts to the Favorites folder. How can I do this in Windows 8?

This process has not changed in 12 years: you can always simply open your user folder and copy the 'Favorites' folder on your new computer, just as you always have.

Note: If you connect to your computer with your Microsoft Account, Windows 8 allows to synchronize your bookmarks between all your computers for you automatically.

How to copy or send photos of the Gallery Pho Windows to my pictures (Progr. is Windows Vista), or to copy them to another external hard drive

Your photos are not archived in the Windows Photo Gallery... it access
the files for viewing and changing the location, they are saved in the
your hard disk... probably your pictures folder.

The only pictures actually stored by Windows Photo Gallery are the
original versions of photos that have been published. It is for the purpose
back to if you are unhappy with the version published the photo.

The original photos (unpublished) are located in the following folder:
    C:\Users\\Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Windows Photo Gallery\
    Original images.

If you right click on a thumbnail in the Windows Photo Gallery and choose...
Open the file location... you can find the current folder, the file is saved in.

You can right click on a picture or a selected group of photos or a complete
folder in the menu... Choose... Send to... a menu is displayed
which should include your extra hard drive.

Also you can drag and drop or copy and paste files from one hard disk to another.

  • How to copy favorites from XP to W7

Wife bought a new laptop with W7 and ie8. How can I copy old favorites folder to the new laptop?

On Windows XP, copy the folder:

    %UserProfile%\Favorites

The above looks like C:\Documents and Settings\\Favorites where is the name of the user account, and C: is the drive on which Windows is installed (by default is C:).  If you enter %UserProfile% address of file from Windows Explorer, and then press return, you must file the favorite parent and you have nothing to do with the drive letter or name of account.

If you use a USB to transfer, navigate to the folder of Favorites like above, then right click on the folder and then click the command send to to copy to USB flash memory.

On Windows 7 computer copy the Favorites (already on the USB flash memory) folder in the following location:

    %USERPROFILE%

It looks like C:\Users\. New recording %UserProfile% in address of file from Windows Explorer , and then press return will take you to the favorite parent folder.
Since the favorite folder already exists, confirm with Yes to Merge existing and copied files. In addition, when copying, you may be prompted if too write some files (there are predefined web addresses in identical on both machines) and you can just ignore these in response to skip the copy on.
