  Create a new virtual machine in Virtual Center - install the software updates that you need in this model etc etc.

  Click right of the virtual machine when you finished and chose "convert model', if you need later update it is again you can 'convert virtual machine' and update before make you a model again.

  You must contact the manufacturer of the computer for this procedure - it's their process, not Microsoft.  Procedures vary by manufacturer and sometimes even depending on the model.  The information can be displayed on their Web site, if you are looking for that specific computer - but if available and free, I would just contact support by phone or chat or however and the explanation directly from a human being.  Often only make a set of disks, so don't forget to do things right the first time.

  The answers above assume that you all have two copies of the retail XP

  You run into problems if one of you have an OEM like Dell, HP etc system.

  Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

  There is no Vista free download legal available.

  Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

  Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

  If the installation provided with your Windows computer discs was preinstalled on the computer - it is OEM and cannot be moved. You can move Windows to another computer if you buy the retail version.

  If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on one computer at a time (and if it's a version upgrade the new Windows computer must have its own license of qualification).   Windows XP disks are no longer manufactured or sold. You * may * be able to find a place with an old stock for sale, but it is not very likely. Close your only choice is to purchase a used copy somwhere (but I would avoid eBay, where any software you buy is probably hacked).
