  Firefox would automatically change to a different during an upgrade search configuration unless something was wrong. If search / change the homepage etc. without your permission, then it is probably a malware / virus problem.

  There are two different methods for the A1 rooting that I have met:

  1. at the root it using SuperOneClick.

  2. installation of a zip through the recovery mode.

  Method 1 does not work with the latest versions of firmware (2643 and 2644). However, method 2 works with all versions of firmware. If you create a link to the guide that you look at, I would be able to confirm if it will/won't work.
