  The best way to solve this maybe just create a new user account, transfer your personal data to this account, and then delete the old account. Make sure that you perform the system restore after you did the new account and everything works fine. To purge the system restore, simply disable it then again.   Today visited a customer who was a profile error at startup of Windows 7 (Home Premium).
