  In simple, no words. With the exception of the variable QR codes, merge data has remained the same since that post.

  The current solution of:

  • put a delimiter in the source file, such as
    or | to represent the newline; then
  • Merge into a new indesign file and use find/replace to replace the separator for a line break

  Is always the simplest solution with the data merge.

  Data merge isn't the only way to import variable data. XML is another way, but the learning curve is steep. The rewards are worthwhile, but prepare to invest some many hours in learning!

  Otherwise, perhaps consider a third party plug-in which may be more appropriate than merge data.

  Rest assured, you are not alone. All I can suggest is to go to the feature request/Bug Report Form and the application as a feature request.

  Because of the way this is implemented to WebHelp, it cannot be done. In AIR, don't know, but I suspect that it is the same for AIR.

  A better way would be to create glossary topics. Which removes restrictions on development in shape.

  Hi I have a newline removal of difficulty of editfield. The situation is that I have editfield and the user inserts the body of the text.

  When the user clicks on a button, I want all the characters than insert user to show online with no spacing or no line breaks. I used StringUtilities.removeChar (String, "") to remove the empty spaces, but I don't know how to remove line breaks ("feed").

  BTW maximum lenth of alert is 200 characters. If character length will be more then 200 high he'll jump either you add new line or display the text as it is.

  As much as I know there is no built-in feature to print workflow outputs directly to the webviews.

  Workaround: you can print the performance of an Action directly a webview (there is an example in the Webview Developer's guide, if I remember correctly, you must call the action through a part of the tapestry)...

  Example:

  .. .in this case with 'getExecutionsForCategory' as a Webview-attribute Type Action and "allWfls" like Webview-attribute of type WorkflowCategory. The action wants a parameter of type WorkflowCategory...

  In your case, you must create an Action that could now get the output of a WorkflowToken workflow and present it to an HTML string...

  In this case, you do not want to change

  \r

  TO

  \n

  Be aware that this will stick together, paragraphs with all the consequences for its paragraph styles. I rarely do this (and then only unformatted text!) that I don't know yet if it will apply the above the following paragraph paragraph style, or vice versa.

• In MXML, how can insert you a line break in the label of a mx:Button?

  In other MXML components, you can do things like use curly braces to incorporate scripts, use '& #13' and stuff like that in their text and label attributes.  Apparently the mx label attributes: Buttons are so locked that normal suggestions for other components do not work.  I might try just setting the labels in the main script of an MXML file or something, but it's a sloppy programming if it can be avoided (values of labels will be constant in this case).  Is there a way to put a line break in the attribute in MXML?

  Regarding the use "& #13", which gave me a line break at least, but any text to the right of this sequence has disappeared.  This makes me think that there may be a way to make this work, but so far I have not found the way.
