  I don't see why it wouldn't work on Unix. Each element in the layout is a source based on a column in your query (in the datamodel). It doesn't matter if it's Windows or Unix.

  Reports done automatically if you use the wizard. If you change an existing report, you need to add the column (in the datamodel) and element (in the layout) yourself.

• Image display - how to display a picture by using an absolute path?

  How can I display an image by using an absolute path to a compiled WebHelp?

  Our developers use RH8 ID card within our internal applications to display in a window of model created using Telerik Rad Window.

  Unfortunately the images disappear from these model windows as RoboHelp removes the absolute links to images [inserted] and modifies relative in the compiled WebHelp.

  How to overcome this? Is there a solution in RH8?

  When you insert a picture that RoboHelp shows the full path in the dialog box, but if you double-click on the image, you will see that it has already been converted to a relative path.

  You can go to the HTML and change the way it the absolute path, but it must be the absolute path after aid is generated and published. It must also be valid as you work, or you will not see the subject.

  again, there could be several ways to do that, but here's one (see the attachment). Why don't you use IMAQ tools to display your image in the first place? It would be certainly faster than the conversion of 2D image.

  23 theme is OK, the class = attribute "tab_link" on the tabs. I added that and now it works.

• IP camera: how to record raw MJPEG image on disk?

  I have an IP camera, streaming images JPEG compressed. I tried to use IMAQdx get Image Data.vi to get the raw bytes and save it on the disk, but I can't produce a valid JPEG file.

  In the code below, test2.jpg is always valid JPEG around 69 KB file, while test1.jpg is still an invalid file around 65 KB (I tried settings Unicode big-endian and little-endian, with the same results).

  Any ideas?

  

  Gah, rookie mistake... I forgot to disable "prepend array or string size" to write to the binary file.

  I also don't need to convert the byte to a string array.

• How to display correct sRGB images in applications unmanaged Vista with a wide range of display?

  Hi all

  This isn't a simple question, and I don't expect the answers to be simple either.

  1. I have vista home premium
  2. I have a wide range of LCD, a screen with a significantly wider than the sRGB color profile (sometimes incorrectly called a display Adobe RGB)
  3. I have it calibrated with a Spyder3Elite
  4. Images look GREAT in color managed applications (including the windows photo gallery)
  5. Photos have air saturated outside color management applications, even if they are sRGB images.

  Here's what I need.  If an application is not color management then Vista should apply the sRGB profile AND map it on my monitor profile.

  What is happening now is the image is mapped directly to the color space of the monitor and let the oversaturated colors. The end result is that all images within windows and Internet Explorer are saturated. The only solution for navigation is to use a plugin to make the management of the colours of firefox or use safari.

  BTW. Even if windows photo gallery is the color of the slide show management is not argghhh.

  I have looked at the Advanced tab on the Vista color management, but did not find ANY documentation on the 'device profile' or 'View profile status' settings. They seem to be associated with what I need, but there is nothing in the help about it. What do mean? second question, sorry)

  PS. I checked the color management using the 4 images at http://www.color.org/version4html.xalter. I have saved their drive and use them as a reference to quickly check if an application is successful or not color.

  I wish I could give you some good news, but the fact is that most of the components of windows and the Windows desktop are always not color management. The Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Live Photo Gallery are the only elements of the Windows color reach the display profile. Most office applications will honor profiles embedded in images, source but then they convert to sRGB and throw it on the screen. And IE is not even honor profiles embedded in images...

  That you have determined, the settings in the color management control panel affect only the applications of color management. The settings in the tab Cpl Advanced CM are used to provide default values for the missing profiles needed for the creation of color transformation for WCS in color management applications. Again not to help.

  Regarding the application non-management of color management color "behind their backs" goes, it's very difficult to do in general. There is no easy way for the OS to tell if the color data that renders an application has already been color managed, or not.

  We have a technology called high color which will be in Windows 7 that aims to solve this problem. Color high-definition given color are first converted into a color space extended which uses the sRGB primaries, but which allows the values less than 0.0 and 1.0 above (let's call it sRGB-XR). Colourful is closely related to xvYCC and X.v.color of Sony. Range wide color data can be converted in this space with no loss. Displays (and maps) that support colourful are necessary to convert this space sRGB-XR internally to their native color space. With color high definition, the United Nations - RGB color management is treated as sRGB, which is unchanged when converted to sRGB-XR space (it's all in the [0.1] part of the encoding). But then peripheral compatible High Color will map correctly that in their native space, so the sRGB data never get oversaturated in being treated as if she was already in wide range native of screen space (as happens now). And any image content real wide range gets correctly mapped to take advantage of the wide range of the screen. The plumbing for High Color is under Windows 7. However, the Desktop Window Manager could not implement a high color support in time (this requires the use of a fixed or floating point rendering surface), if the Bureau will not use color high definition, however, in Win7. Maybe the next time.

• I try the sequence in After Effects CS6 700 RAW pictures/images

  I have about 700 RAW images, I was responsible for mask frame and key out/rotoscoping garbage so I can insert the background that the Director wants behind the actor. I've never had to do as many frames at a time, I've never learned a quick command to do this.

  Can someone help me with the procedure to sequence all my images so I don't have to drag each item one at a time until they are all in place in my calendar? That's all that I need help. The rest should be a breeze, because it has a screen behind the actor that I can get out.

  Slide them all on the timeline. Frame before a move. Select all layers and prune. Use the keyframe Assistant > sequence without overlapping layers command.

• How to display a PNG image according to the response from the Web Service?

  I use the web service XML from Weather.com to get the current temperature, temperature 'feels' and the current condition icon number.  Their service provides many (> 20 I think) which represents the current status of PNG files.  How do I install my script AS3 do basically if... then Else instructions based on the returned value icon?  For example, if the value of icon = 20, then view 20. png on stage?  I need match the value of correct PNG icon and then put that PNG (as a clip?) on stage for a predefined timeline section.

  I also used this API, and I only use cases or conditions in order to retrieve the values and turn them into a file name.

  If you do not use all the available conditions and turning them into an icon, then Yes, you need to do a switch condition.

  But if you want to use them all, them you can simply get the condition number and add the '.png' and call the corresponding file directly. Here you can do a test, just in case the condition / icon does not exist (e.g. system failure any)

  uicondition.source = String (resultXML.cc.icon) + ".png";

  The UILoader is an excellent component for this sort of thing. You can accomplish the same thing with a MovieClip and load an image. It is lighter.

  But then again if you want to resize you would code all methods for that.

  No, it is completely available in FormCalc, you just need to change the syntax.

  In FormCalc, it would look like:

  I apologize in advance if this sounds a bit complicated issue, but I'm a little confused as to how to go about it.
  
  I have an Ascii-grid file exported from ArcMap and I want to draw on a JPanel.
  This particular grid is a DEM, but it would be good if it could produce this for any network, if it makes a difference.
  The problem is I don't really even know where to begin... I looked at using templates, buffers of data, etc. for the creation of a frame, but I don't really know how to enter the ascii data that I have in one of these.
  Can I remove the integer values pixel data in the file before etc and if so how can I go about it?
  
  Also is it possible to do a color model of an int array standard, if it was created in a particular model, for example to the designated height values.
  
  Help to identify the ways to go about this would be very welcome because I am lost about what to do. Even just a few tips in the right direction. I'm more that happy to go work it out I really don't know where to start.

  Sounds something like a map of contours. I don't know there must be a technically superior (read: horribly complicated) way to do this, use IndexColorModel, WriteableRaster etc etc, but if performance is satisfactory, I would go with a simple BufferedImage and setRGB.

• Pavilion Telechareger s5120y - I can't see the pictures on a drive in CDFS format. How to display these pictures

  HP Pavilion Slimline model s5120y, product KY818AA-APA, Windows Vista 64-bit operating system. I have pictures on a disc using CDFS file system. I can't see one of these files. I tried Windows Photo Gallery (no file or video) and others. I know that the photos are here because others have seen them. What should I do to see the pictures?

  Are you able to copy the contents of the disc in your computer and then look at the pictures? With the inserted disc, click Start > computer > double click on the CD/DVD drive. You should see (hopefully) a list of the files on the disk. Select all of them, right click and select 'copy '. Then create a new folder on the desktop, open it, right click in the folder and select "Paste". If the files copy successfully then you should be able to view them on your computer.

  If this does not work for you, maybe you could have someone make a new record for you. Using a computer which is able to view the pictures (but not the computer that made the record initially), copy the files using the method described above, and then burn a new disc picture using a different file system.
