How to establish a remote desktop connection?
my place opperating
To whom it may concern, I recently had problems with my computer, I went to the HP website for more help. I was talking to the engineer on the phone or the person, I was helping me. After asking a few questions we could not solve my problem however, he asked me over the phone for my permission to enter my computer from his computer that he was home and solve the problem itself. He was able to take control of my computer to fix my problem.
Anyway, my father is an old man who only lives with me I live a couple 100 miles away from him. He had obtained a computer two years ago. I have myself worked on a computer on mine for 10 years I'm trying to help him when he called me on the phone better than I can, but it is very easily confused and has some good things down. My situation is that I can't drive because I am parapeliegic and I can't drive to his house. Therefore, it is very difficult for me to get down there to help.
So I ask, is possible that I can get into his computer to my site so that I can fix it for him.
Thank you for any suggestions you may have. Sincerely, Chris W.
his opperating system is windows xp. and mine is vista.

Remote - Windows 7 for XP Pro desktop
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate and try to use the Office XP Pro system remotely. I am the admin on both boxes and I have all of the necessary credentials. It errors I wonder if there are some parameters in 7 that I'm missing. Any suggestions?Hi Caslon540. Here's something that might help you troubleshoot:

Another thought, is that you will need to download a later version of connection desktop remotely (version 6.0 or later) so that XP can handle the incoming connection to Windows 7 that uses authentication NLA.
Hope that helps.

about Remote Desktop connection
What is remote desktop connection? How can we create remote desktop connection? How can we date or file in the network computer in the domain name server, we have created? If the connection is wired how can reconnect interrupted sudden on desktop connection remote connection? what the network discovery & network location? What is command prompt, how can it helps us to get information on the connection of the computer on the network?
Hi Berhanu,
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
Remote Desktop connection is a technology that allows you to sit in front of a computer (sometimes called the client computer) and connect to a remote computer (called the host computer) in a different location. For example, you can connect your computer to work from your home computer and have access to all of your programs, files, and network resources as if you were in front of your computer at work. You can leave programs running at work and then, when you get back, you can see the desktop of your computer work displayed on your computer at home, with the same programs running.
I would refer to the article below for more helpful information and Setup.

I need more info on how your network is configured to answer the question on the other. How is the computer connected to the internet? It connects wireless or cable to the router or modem or through ICS from another computer or what? How do you change between the sharing of internet connection currently? What happens when you try to enable both connections at the same time (or do not have two connections)?
Thank you. The answers above, I can be able to understand the problem, because right now I really don't know how you setup and I need as much information as you can provide about it.
Good luck!

How would enable remote desktop connection and asking for help?
Do you mean on this site? Sorry, but we don't do that. We do not have the software required to make the connection (it's too expensive to buy personally) and even if we did we would not get in this practice. We work by display.
