How to fix? Windows Photo Gallery keeps closing
Hi, I've seen other posts on this problem here, but have yet to see someone follow up and report on a solution that worked. So I ask you once again. When I try to open Windows Photo Gallery, it opens briefly, then stops. The only thing I did recently was reinstall Office 2007 and Outlook 2003 installation. Here is the error information I receive:

Hi John,.
Thanks for the quick response! After that, I tried the reallocation of photo gallery Windows Live as the default application for photo files. So when I saw your response, I followed it for Windows Live. I don't understand what you mean by "you'll have to recataloguer." I changed the name of the file, and then open the photo gallery, according to the instructions. But shortly after a stop too it (a few minutes with 'Live,' immediate versus with regular photo gallery).
What I started to do, is try to copy old photos from a CD on this relatively new computer. They would not copy. Then I tried to select 'Import pictures' rather than 'open folder '. That's when I noticed the problem with the photo gallery Windows stops immediately. It seems to be the same problem another user has pointed out - Data Execution Prevention stops the program. But I can not turn off DEP for library - it will not allow him. I tried an update, or a DEP-compatible version, but found none.
Here's a maybe stupid question: can I just move to another photo application? Aren't my files always in there somewhere, accessible by another application? Or am I totally off base regarding how it works?
Thanks for the ideas!
Veronica

New catalogue means when you rename or delete the .pd4 file... your Photo
Gallery will return to the way it was the first time that you opened. The
Photo Gallery will fill again.
It may be interesting to try to uninstall Windows Live Photo Gallery (you can not
uninstall Windows Photo Gallery). And if it is a recent issue... it can be
worth a try to restore the system to an hour before it began.
Yes you can use another software... IrfanView, Picasa and FastStone Image
Spectator got three which may be worth a try (all free).
Your photos are probably in your pictures folder.
Good luck.

How to change Windows Photo Gallery to be default for images of the camera?
Can someone tell me please how to change windows photo gallery to be the default program for my camera. Also, if I delete pictures in the gallery it also removes that I put in a separate folder.
Help. Thank you
Hello
These could work and be sure to check with the manufacturer of the camera for other options.
Use another program like the default binding for the types of files instead of the Windows Photo Gallery.
That Picasa support associations or assign to it.

How to uninstall Windows Photo Gallery or Windows Live Photo Gallery
I have both programs on my computer laptop Vista Home premium. The space is essential and I need to get rid of one of them - I would rather uninstall WPG. However, I failed to find a way to do it. The program does not appear in Control Panel and I searched for an answer without success so far. Can anyone help please.
EllGeePee January 20, 2010Hello
While no program takes up a lot in terms of space, there are limits. Windows Photo Gallery is a native component of Vista, there is no option to uninstall. You use either it, or you don't. Windows Live Photo Gallery is a component of the suite of live software and must appear in the control panel of configuration/programs and features for removal.
If space is at a premium, there are better solutions:
(a) get a drive bigger and transfer the installation. It's the best solution because it definitely eliminates the real problem.
(b) not to store the data files on the hard drive, use a flash drive or external.
(c) reduce the amount of space allocated to system restore (default is 15%) with the VSS command utility. Good luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Crazy" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Windows help - www.rickrogers.org

Windows Photo Gallery keeps hanging!
It just started with me after only a few updates last couple weeks for my Vista Ultimate (x 64) SP2. I'm getting this hanging just after I have try to open any image - not always - but too many times, it will be pasted the whole PC and hang every step inside, especially the explorer.exe. I tried to close and reopen the Manager tasks, but who was worse and not help and sometimes even stuck mouse moving.
The main solution to this problem is simply by clicking on the small button of my camera. IT IS REALLY BAD, MORE TIME I LOSE MY FILES.
So, what would be the solution for this. BTW, I have another PC in Win7 having the same problem. Yes IS THERE ANY DIFFICULTY for this please!Best regards

There was a "fix" Windows Photo Gallery button which you given then repair of redeye, color enhancements and cropping options.
the new version on this new computer is Windows LIVE photo gallery and it is not very easy to use and has none of the features that I like that are listed above.
where can I find these options on the new version.
If this is not possible
How to use the old version without getting rid of the new version of the photo gallery?
I look forward to continue to transfer my photos from this computer to my old machine to my editing.
You might not be able to use these features, because you haven't gotten to complete editing the page again,
Click on the photo you want to edit in any way,
And press the Enter key,
This will open the photo selected in the edition full edit where the toolbar is available, also listed is close file on the right end of it, by clicking on file close will take you back where you started.
Crop a photo is the only edition that you have to click twice
Time to start the process and once after finishing harvest so it will save the changes.
All other changes are to be saved after you click Close file, red eyes may also have one separate record other than close file.

When I want to work with a photo in Windows xp home, I use the Windows Photo Gallery. I can open the photo, crop the photo very well, but when I want to adjust the settings and I say "Fix", the photo becomes a black rectangle, so I do not see what effect have adjustments on the photo before I have record improvements, so I have to go all the way back and open up to see the changes. Is there a solution to this?

Original title: photo library
My operating system is Windows Vista. I lost a lot of hard drive space. Looking through the computer, I find that I Windows Photo Gallery, but also Windows Live Photo Gallery. Should I have them both? What is the difference between the two? Which do you recommend that I keep?
Al; so, I have some downloaded items in Windows Live Photo Gallery which I don't want. Systems says I need permission to delete (in order to recover the disk space). I am the only user of this computer, but do not know how to remove them. Please notify. What I don't want are clocks, calendars, and the types of button "play" of things.

How can I get the tags on the Windows Photo Gallery to attach the photo file?
In the past, I had problems with the tags disappear as if by magic of my photos after many hours of their entry. A few years ago I tried, as a measure of precaution, to make the files read-only and eliminate a bunch of change permissions, thinking that might prevent data disappear. (FYI: it didn't.) Anyway, recently I have been seized all the tags through the Windows Photo Gallery (mistake #1). Only problem was, I don't remember I had changed permissions (error #2). I have since reset the permissions, but now I have a bunch of pictures with labels WPG, but not in the files themselves, and I know from experience that it will be a mistake to keep it like that.
So the question is this: How can I transfer the WPG tags only to the photo files themselves? (Please tell me that there is an easy way...)Hi mysteryg45,
You can try to re - mark photos & check if the problem persists.
