Title: Windows original Photo Gallery and Windows Movie Maker

Windows Movie Maker and windows photo gallery. picture of Windows live and Windows Live Movie Maker. What is the difference between these programs and who is better and easier to work with?

The answer is all one could expect from a "Microsoft Support Engineer". "." It is not an answer, it is a lazy response that obscures the issue. Who the * wants to sit here by clicking on the reference links? Try to take the time to answer the question correctly and clearly. The fact is that Windows Movie Maker, despite its flaws, is logical and easy to learn. Windows Live Movie Maker is the product of developers geeks trying to justify their work by producing a piece of absurd confusion that would be considered to be an 'upgrade' because it seems different from its predecessor. The fact is that Windows Movie Maker is MORE like film professional software publisher of Live Movie Maker, which is just no unwanted standard which is more like a project of diploma a graduate programmer. Movie Maker design allowed me to make the easy transition to the most advanced professional software, but this can never be achieved with the Windows Live Movie Maker, which is ridiculously long as stupid as his name.

  • How to fix? Windows Photo Gallery keeps closing

Hi, I've seen other posts on this problem here, but have yet to see someone follow up and report on a solution that worked.  So I ask you once again.  When I try to open Windows Photo Gallery, it opens briefly, then stops.  The only thing I did recently was reinstall Office 2007 and Outlook 2003 installation.  Here is the error information I receive:

    Hi John,.

Thanks for the quick response!  After that, I tried the reallocation of photo gallery Windows Live as the default application for photo files.  So when I saw your response, I followed it for Windows Live.  I don't understand what you mean by "you'll have to recataloguer."  I changed the name of the file, and then open the photo gallery, according to the instructions.  But shortly after a stop too it (a few minutes with 'Live,' immediate versus with regular photo gallery).

What I started to do, is try to copy old photos from a CD on this relatively new computer.  They would not copy.  Then I tried to select 'Import pictures' rather than 'open folder '.  That's when I noticed the problem with the photo gallery Windows stops immediately.  It seems to be the same problem another user has pointed out - Data Execution Prevention stops the program.  But I can not turn off DEP for library - it will not allow him.  I tried an update, or a DEP-compatible version, but found none.

Here's a maybe stupid question: can I just move to another photo application?  Aren't my files always in there somewhere, accessible by another application?  Or am I totally off base regarding how it works?

    Thanks for the ideas!
    Veronica

New catalogue means when you rename or delete the .pd4 file... your Photo
Gallery will return to the way it was the first time that you opened. The
    Photo Gallery will fill again.

It may be interesting to try to uninstall Windows Live Photo Gallery (you can not
uninstall Windows Photo Gallery). And if it is a recent issue... it can be
worth a try to restore the system to an hour before it began.

Yes you can use another software... IrfanView, Picasa and FastStone Image
Spectator got three which may be worth a try (all free).

Your photos are probably in your pictures folder.

    Good luck.

No guarantee... but the exclusive database may be corrupted.

    Read the following article.

(944221) freezes Windows Live Photo Gallery
    or does not start
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/944221/en-us
(according to version, database can be
    Pictures.PD4, Pictures.pd5 or Pictures.pd6)

Rename the Pictures.OLD file will force Live Photo
Gallery to create a new database on the next launch file.

Know that the gallery will be as it was the first time that you
open and some metadata and labels may be lost.

  • Resizing images using windows photo gallery live

I use library windows live and am resizing of TIFF images that are about 50 MB in size. I want to be able to choose the size of MB, but the Application it in reduced connection between 2 to 4 MB. Should we accept the size?

If you try to reduce the size of the file to free up space on your hard drive...
changing the file format of the photos in JPEG format can be worth a try. That
will significantly reduce the size of the file without the need to reduce the pixel
    Dimensions.

  • Parameters for importing Windows Photo Gallery is completed. (They simply disappeared!)

In the photo gallery Windows and Windows Live Photo Gallery the 'import' settings have disappeared. I can open the parameters dialog box and tab 'import' itself is still there but it is empty. There are no settings to change. I am still able to import, but I can't change where pictures import to or anything. The parameters are the same as the last time they were available before their disappearance.

Basically: I open the Windows Photo Gallery (Live) and everything works fine except for one thing. When I click on import one file - Options-, there is nothing in the importation of the settings box tab. (There are no settings to change. They are not there.) It is empty. Why is it empty? (If there is already a forum for this question, would someone please direct me to it?)

I scanned a few photos, but its entry in the adobe format, I wan't it in windows photo gallery, which will make

I right click on the image, click on the Prog by default to choose, select windows photo gallery, but it did not open, he writes

"Photo Gallery can't open this photo, the format is not supported.

Your better off using paint to scan directly to, because for one, it has a way to change the types of files and two he has a check-in feature, more than anything the photo library has.

All you have to do is open paint, click the blue button and click option of scanner or camera, follow the prompts.

    CAN ANYONE HELP?

    Hi MANIC724247,

Remember to make changes to the computer before that happened?

This can happen due to conflicts with other photo editing software installed on the computer.

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Put the computer to clean and test start

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

Important: n ' forget not the computer to start normal follow step 7 in the link.

Step 2: Remove the incorrect color profile

To remove the incorrect color profile, follow these steps:

    1. click on start, type color management in the search box and press ENTER.

    2. in the color management dialog box, click to select the use my settings for this device check box.

    3. in the profiles associated with this device list, click the color profile you want to delete, and then click on remove.

Note If you receive a warning message, click Yes.

    4. click on close to close the color management dialog box.

    5 restart the computer.

Open a picture in Windows Photo Gallery to verify that the problem is resolved.

When you view an image in the photo gallery Windows on a Windows Vista-based computer, the image is yellow

    If the problem persists,

Step 3: Windows Photo Gallery database which keeps images and videos in your collection may be corrupt. You can rebuild your database tracking the steps provided by Steven, the technical support engineer as of Monday, October 5, 2009 14:21 in the link below
