  You can remove your USB flash drive write protection using the method below:

  a. open the Start menu and in the search bar type regedit and press enter. This wil open the registry editor.

  b. navigate to the following location:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies

  Note: If the StorageDevicePolicies registry key does not exist, you must create it manually.

  c. in the right window, double-click the registration key and set the value to 0 in the value.

  d. data area, and then press OK button

  e. restart your computer and try to copy files to your USB drives.

  It depends on your preferences settings. By default, Bridge is set to store metadata in an XMP file. This is the file that has the same name as the original, but it only use the extension ".xmp" instead of Raw file extension.

  Bridge stores this file in the same folder as the original. If you use Bridge to move the files to another location it selects automatically the xmp files to travel with her.

  If you use the view menu / show hidden files, you will see what Curt meant by XMP are hidden files, all have a document icon.

  If you converted to DNG RAW format this data is written to the file itself, as is the case with other types of files such as jpeg and tiff, that can be managed by the cab.

  Should be no problem at all if you use the version of Windows 8 EVEN because the product key is now embedded in the BIOS of the machine. The process is to get the right installation of Windows 8 media (DVD, USB, downloaded file) and then install on your client computer.   Yes that's correct. The LR catalog must be on the computer's internal drive. Then when you have smart previews activated you can change the image without going through the reader that they are connected. When you connect this drive images will be updated.

  Simply COPY these 4 folders on your internal drive in a folder called Lightroom catalog that you create. Then open LR and go on the file menu point and select open catalog. Navigate to the folder you created called catalog in Lightroom and select the Lightroom Catalog.lrcat 5 file and click Open. Once restart Lightroom open change preferences, > preferences, and under the general tab, in the catalog default section make sure that "when starting to use this catalogue:" listings in the area where you copied the files. Everyone can use the pen drive except the user who originally installed when the GPO was in place.

  (S) backup starts and ends with the message: * full backup: XX:XX:XX *.

  (T) remove the CD disk and a pen. Click on * output * and confirm that the computer may restart.

  (U) you have now a complete picture of you system, without installing any software. It woks with all versions of Windows including Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

  You will need to use a full copy of Windows XP.  Should be a sticker with the product key on the side of your desk or below if it is a laptop.

  Once you have this drive, you can reinstall Windows XP.  After you have installed all the software and drivers, you will be able to transfer all your data to the new HARD drive.

  If you don't have a copy of Windows XP, you can probably get a copy of the recovery from the manufacturing of computer media.  Just to provide the model and serial number and they should sent it.

  Its with great pride and joy to inform you that I formatted my pen-drive successfully. After almost one and work hard for semesters. I tried several software but they all failed.

  I ask you all to try transcend recovery tool online to achieve this. (link:- http://www.transcendusa.com/Products/ORTCount.asp?URL=Software/OnLineRecovery.exe&action=Download ).

  Its a small tool. He RAW file system format, even if our pen-diving is not made by Transcend. Even if the format successfully completed, we are not able to use the device because it shows that it is write protected. So can you please do the following:

  1) click Start-> Run.

  (2) type regedit and press to enter.

  4) click the plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

  5) click the plus sign next to SYSTEM

  6) click the plus sign next to CurrentControlSet

  7) click the plus sign next to control

  8) click the plus sign next to StorageDevicePolicies

  (9) write click on WriteProtect and click on modify.

  (10) if the value is 1 change 0, and then click ok.

  (11) the registry editor close and restart the computer.

  Now, you're done. Your pen-drive is now ready.
