How to hide iCloud songs in smart playlists

Just found the option 'View' > 'Show iCloud music purchases', but unfortunately that changed not showing them upward in the smart playlists, I create. Ive tried all the different options to limit these playlists such as 'iCloud status' and 'Place', but none of 'em actually seem to filter songs undownloaded. Im not interested in playing one of these Id otherwise just download their in the first place. An interim solution would be to 'love' each song downloaded, but this really isn't a good thing because Id rather use this feature for what his destiny, and songs of theres 400 + Id tag like this.

"iCloud status" shows only songs or NONE, I guess because I don't use the Apple music?

'Location' like 'on my pc"shows only 8 songs (of downloaded hundreds), while if its 'on iCloud", it shows all but download these 8 regardless of status.

"Date added" includes all the songs like "purchase".

iTunes for Windows 12.3.2.35, no later than at the time of writing

  • Cannot copy all the songs from smart playlist in normal playlist

I have a bunch of smart playlists that I use regularly, but the smart playlists is not supported of Apple's music within the ecosystem of Sonos, so I'll try to copy the contents of each in a "beast" playlist that I can use effectively when music plays in my Sonos system at home. I'm having problems trying to get this in iTunes on my PC, though.

For example, I'm in my smart "Top 100 most played songs" playlist in iTunes and highlight all the songs. I then drag them all over a new normal mute playlist, and it seems that all 100 songs are copied on (based on the number and the red circle that appears on the slider as I drag-and - drop). When I look at the new playlist, I see only 27 songs. The common theme seems to be that only the songs I added to my library of Apple's music are copied. Local songs in my library that I actually own original (the 73 remaining in the smart playlist) is don't move. If I return to smart playlist and try to copy them individually owned the songs, it works, but I have to do than 73 times, and it's just for a playlist.

Anyone got any ideas how I can get all the songs to copy on the new playlist 'fool' massively? I can use the "duplicate" option if my source is another list of silent reading without encountering this problem, but it does not work if my source is a smart playlist and I am trying to create a regular.

  • Delete songs in smart playlists in itunes 12.4?

In the previous version of Itunes, there is a delete option in the drop-down menu when I wanted to delete songs directly from my smart playlists. I know that there is a shortcut in the mac version, I was wondering if, instead of the menu option, there is a shortcut on Windows or a way to remove them? It's a huge pain to click around to delete.

I use this on Windows 10.

There are three ways to remove pieces of smart playlist:

    • change the criteria for membership for the playlist
    • change the metadata of the songs so that they are is more selected reading list
    • remove songs from your library

This has not changed in 12.4.

  • The smart playlists in Playlist folder sorting

My question is how to sort the songs in a playlist, it's how can I sort playlists in a playlist folder?

If I have a playlist folder named "Genres" with three smart playlists named "Hip Hop / Rap", "Rhythm and Blues" and "Rock."

the folder will automatically be sorted alphabetically in the form:

    Genres

    Hip Hop / Rap

    Rhythm-and-Blues

    Rock

What I want to do is sort the folder manually if I put any folder in all positions as:

    Genres

    Rhythm-and-Blues

    Rock

    Hip Hop / Rap

    How can I do this?

You can not. I sometimes used an index number of foreground. If you have iTunes game or Apple music the order may change randomly after you update a list, but will return to alphabetical if you close iTunes and then reopen.

  • How do I rate songs while playing a smart playlist?

This used to be simple... I have a smart playlist consisting of all my music new, not rated. I want to shuffle through it and like a song, I want to be able to write it down. I keep seeing messages on by clicking on the... next to the title of the song in the window of playing on the top of the page, but I don't have an option to add stars there.

    Where is the rating?

The only place where I can find them is in the playlist itself, but it's a pain when you are in Shuffle mode.

You can sort the song (s) by pressing Ctrl click and selecting the rate. This can be done on the songs in the playlist by highlighting the song and pressing control click or that the song is played you can control click on the song in the title at the top area.

  • smart playlist, including music to iCloud

My iTunes is configured to hide the music in ICloud.  I tried to set up a smart playlist today, including the titles of classical music at random.  It included 4 tracks with the symbol of the cloud by it.  I then put one of the parameters of location is not in ICloud and he always has them.  I checked in my music and titles are not there.  Help!

    Thank you

    Deborah

I just implemented a very simple smart playlist.

    Media type is music

    Location on this computer

It showed all the songs that are stored locally.  I don't see those who are only in iCloud.  When I chose a song and made a Delete download on this song, it has disappeared from the list.  It seems to work, at least most of the time.

In your smart playlist...  Choose one of these 4 songs that are on your list with the symbol of the cloud in the column download iCloud .  Click on the cloud to download.  Right-click on the song and select Delete download (like me).  This song remains on the list (with the symbol of the cloud back), or doesn't it disappears from the list?

  • do not copy songs in the smart playlist for 10 iOS device

I have upgraded to 12.5.1.21 on my Mac Mini Tuesday and set iTunes to update my iPhone 6 and Air iPad for iOS 10.  I also have an iPod Touch 5 which is glued to the ISM 9, which turns out to be a blessing.  In iTunes I have a large number of smart playlists, which many turning content at least recently played or update filters to filter the songs that were played in the last week, for example.  So when I play songs in the list, then update the list in iTunes, the songs played are removed, and new songs come in.  Everything works well.

Until I update my iOS 10 devices.  When I update the playlist in iTunes on Mac, it shows the new content.  When I update my iDevice, it shows the set songs to date on the device, using the view from iTunes on Mac.  When I disconnect the device and check the reading list, there is no songs.  All the songs in the playlist have disappeared.  The songs are really there, but the device iTunes lost them or they were never really copied.

It does not have other types of playlists. It seems to only affect smart playlists with date restrictions. My iPod Touch always behaves very well with the same smart playlists.  So maybe not a problem with iTunes on Mac, but iTunes iOS 10.

I also found that the smart playlists which depend on other playlists (i.e. they understand a rule "Playlist is... ") are similarly broken and empty in the iOS 10 (but they agree in iTunes on a Mac (for now)).  This is true if the original selection is also a smart playlist, or just a regular manual selection.

However, I followed the tips in this article, and that fixed it for me: http://www.techradar.com/how-to/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/ios-10-pr oblems-here-s-how-to-fix-the-most-common...

In short, everything Unsync broken playlists (i.e. remove them your phone) and then add them in.  It took a bit big for me to understand how juggling UNSYNC all my playlists without him also remove the associated music (mainly because I did not want to wait that it will copy my entire library over), but after I made, my playlists all started working for me again.

Maybe he'll help with date rules as well?

  • Smart playlist files: overlap of the songs.

It is not a problem in itself, but it's a technical quirk that I can't find any information for, on these forums or elsewhere.

If I have 2 smart playlists, one for 'Top 50 most played' and one for 'Top 50 highest appreciation', there may be some songs that are in both lists. I want to know if I put both of these smart plsylists in a smart folder, and then play the file, the songs that are in two playlists play more often, or they all have an equal chance?

i.e. If there are 25 most played songs, 25 songs that are the most appreciated and 25 others who are at the same time, each individual song have 1/100 chance of play, or 1/75 chance? (as there are 2 lists of 50 but only 75 songs).

A playlist folder will have exactly one entry for each song that is in a confined playlists, no matter how many playlists, it is in, or if it is repeated in any of the regular lists. The number of copies in the playlists of the child cannot affect the random algorithm. If there are 75 songs in the playlist each folder a chance of 1/75 to be selected. (Ignoring the fact that iTunes can actually use a weighted algorithm to play higher rated the title more often.)

  • How to make a smart playlist

How to make a smart playlist with songs not played as often?

It depends on what you mean by "not play also" often  You can select songs based on the number times that they have played, or how recently they've been played or a combination of both.  This example:

with, select all the songs in your library who have not played in the last six months, or who have played less than three times in total.

    1. This button allows you to create a group of rules with variables AND / OR combinations
    2. everything here indicates that the rule will select the songs corresponding to one or more of the rules listed in this group (in the case of GOLD).  Changing at all means that only songs corresponding to each rule in the group will be selected.

Best thing to do is probably to start with this example and play with the different options offered by iTunes to get something that fits your needs.

  • Playing songs not controlled in the smart playlists

I have a lot of smart playlists to my favorite bands, all these work fine. Most of the bands have a greatest hits album and I Don t want these appear in the smart playlists, so I uncheck them.

Now I ve created a list of smart playlist to play only more great songs from hits of a certain kind and although the playlist fills correctly I can´t play because all the songs are unchecked.

Is there a way to get around this?

    TIA

Although the playlist fills correctly I can´t play because all the songs are unchecked.

    Tmoore,

If a song is disabled in the library, it will be disabled in any playlist it is in.

Instead of smart playlists, use regular playlists.  If there is an album ("Greatest Hits") that you want to include, just omit it.  Then, you can let all your songs checked.
