  I'm totally clueless when it comes to computers, but I try very hard to learn. I am using the help section a LOT, but I can't seem to find an answer to the only thing that makes me crazy. How can you know what drivers and programs are essential and those that can be deleted without harming my computer? I have a very basic net accountant I learn on before I screw up a portable more expensive and I do a cleaning on my C and D drives to improve performance because it runs so slow but it tells me I have the drivers who slow down Windows. I would greatky appreciate any assistance from someone who has the patience of a saint and is willing to take the time to explain it to me, in terms laymans. Thanks in advance

  Drivers: you should know what you bought (in your machine) and what * you * want out of it.  If you want stability and things work properly - let alone the drivers.  If you want more performance check (and other games) in the drivers of motherboard chipset and video network from the manufacturers Web site... For more stability stick with the OEM website (HP, Dell, Lenovo - the assembler of the whole machine) and slightly more performance/push the limits (even if they want to work too - so still some stability) - access to websites of its components manufacturer.

  With regard to the programs: you can decide what you use and do not use.  If you are not sure, look it up (Google) or ask.

  For a long time, I had my Firefox (version 33.0.2 - even if I don't remember getting mentions "update") defined so that every time I clicked on the tab new symbol '+' to create a new tab (which has the "new tab Page" on that), the NINE inch nails would be shown for my SELECTION and PIN sites. I LOVED!
  Yesterday, I opened Firefox and NOW when I click on the '+' to open the new tab Page... FIFTEEN thumbnails appear, 5wide x 3down, (and to be honest I probably would have the habit of 15! ha).
  Here's the PROBLEM: NONE of the thumbnails are "compressed". They ALL have "liberated" up yellow icon to the left and clicking on does nothing to remedy this of course. Other that THAT, everything else behaves normally. (that is to say moving the thumbnails, deleting, swap... I just can't pin THEM!)
  FINALLY, I prefer my 9-repositionable decals on the new tab Page.
  I went through ALL the options on the side, upside down and backwards, and I just get more frustrated.

  If you can see all your tiles, you can change your settings in settings page:

  1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
  2. Click on I'll be careful, I promise! to keep the comments: config page.
  3. Search for browser.newtabpage.columns and change it to 3, or however many columns you like
     • Note: browser.newtabpage.rows allows you to change the number of desired lines as well

  Have you checked the settings > General > accessibility > greyscale > power off.

  If this does not work ty settings > General > accessibility > zoom > on. Triple, tap the screen with three fingers. Tap choose filter. Click None. Triple, tap the screen to get rid of the menu zoom. If you have enabled greyscale in zoom you can disable it in zoom.

  It seems a problem with missing or damaged system files. I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.
  Method 1:
  Let flow the Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if it helps.

  Check your Options bar.  You have the opacity set to 10%.  Easy to do.  Just hit the 1 key while the gradient tool is selected, and it's done. By pressing the 0 key will take you back to 100%

  Not knowing their processes or procedures or their mode of operation or the programs that they use or how you are on a network or how to configure your computer to work with their system, or many other things, we really can help you - especially if you do not understand these things clearly or not enough to explain to us.

  I highly recommend you contact one that provided the instructions (or this Department - certainly there must be an IT support department) and assistance on their part that they are those who know what to do and is really the only ones who can help you.  Take on your computer and put them in place for you or someone explain slower or do you offer a website of campus with the instructions documented in detail (if they have such a thing) - but I would try to help in person if possible, then phone or remote office support if they are available.

  I know this isn't much help, but we do not know enough to help you and they are the ones you need to contact for that.
