How to import my site on Dreamweaver?

I just bought a MAC and bought a new version of Dreamweaver. How to upload my Web site?

1. in your old version of DW, export the site for the site definition to a *.ste file.

2. copy this file of the site definition to the new computer.

3. copy the site files themselves to the new computer.

4. in your new version of DW, import the site definition.

Make sure that the paths of the site are all set correctly for the location of the local root folder on the new computer.

You are finished.

How to import a site of CS3 to CC? The import function is looking for an .ste file, and I don't have one of these files. Where are the definitions of site for CS3 and how I import them?

    Thank you

You must first export of wihtin CS3.

Access the Site > Manage Sites > Export

Which will create the .ste file. The .ste account basic site info and settings, not the real site files. If you switch computers, you will need to copy your real folder on your hard drive, and the file .ste, on your new machine.

If you stay on the same machine once you exported from CS3, all you have to do is to open CBWMS and access the Site > Manage Sites > import and import the .ste file.

  • How to import the Muse in Dreamweaver

I'm trying to import my site muse in Dreamweaver, because I want to design my site in muse and then use PHP and MySQL to make blogs and membership etc systems. When I open dreamweaver and right-click on the site of Muse and tap 'Open with - Dreamweaver', it begins to open (it only opens the Muse website and shows just an empty HTML)... then Dreamweaver stops responding and I have to close it. If there is a way to make a membership system and blog muse (that only certain people can change [not not using Muse]) then please reply an answer... or if possible can people please answer on how to open a muse site in dreamweaver.

    Thanks in advance

MU is a code generator while DW is an HTML editor.

I don't think you can import MU files directly in DW.  I think that the best you can do is open the HTML of the pages in DW the same way you would with any site.

The first step of DW, is to set your local & remote site folders by going to the Site. Manage Sites > new Site...  Say DW where on your hard disk to find the files on your local site.

    Thanks for any help!

There is no provision in DW.  You can open the file in Fireworks and slice on your graphics, but you have to build the page in DW.

I want to work on an existing html site. Is it possible to integrate the complete site via ftp maybe?

    Thank you for your message.

From now on, you can only 'create new sites' or "publish sites" using Muse. Muse does not include the ability to import a site HTML in Muse.

  • How to import web site in Muse

I created the site of Muse, transferred to host and it is online.  Now, I need to change the site and cannot find my files.  How can I download it from the host so I can change it?

    Hello

Perhaps, if you had enabled the 'Change in the browser' feature available in Muse you can always edit your site online even if you do not have the file of Muse.

Please refer to this link:- http://helpx.adobe.com/muse/using/in-browser-editing-websites-third-party-hosting.html

In addition, if you can't find the Muse file, then the only option remains with you would be working on the html files that are hosted on your server, and then make the changes using HTMl, CSS etc.

    Kind regards

  • How can I import an entire Web site in dreamweaver using an IMAC?

How can I import an entire Web site in dreamweaver using an IMAC?

It doesn't matter which computer you use, as long as it meets the requirements of the specification for Dreamweaver (as almost certainly does an iMac).

You define a site in Dreamweaver and set up the connection information for the remote server. You can then connect to the remote server and download the pages of the site and other assets, such as images. The following video shows how to define a local site define a site in Dreamweaver. Adobe Dreamweaver tutorials CC. There is a separate video on the remote server configuration: put in place the server connection information. Adobe Dreamweaver tutorials CC. The second video requires that you have created the site locally, but the details on setting up the connection information for the remote server are the same.

  • How to import a Dreamweaver site created in CS4 for Mac at CC 2015?

So, I stuck my toe in the water with CC 2015, as my CS4 does more work on my MacBook Pro 15 "with Yosemite retina.  I am in a trial version to see how it feels and Photoshop looks and works very well, but DreamWeaver is problematic.  I have downloaded and run the my company website to DreamWeaver CS4 - which doesn't work anymore - and it doesn't seem to be an obvious option to import the site to CC, 2015.  Anyone an idea how to do this?  When I go to "Manage Sites" and click on "Import Site" I wonder to find and identify site ending with ".ste" - However definition files, I do not have those in my site files.

  • How to import a Web 4 of Expression Web site in Dreamweaver cc?

Hi, I have problems importing my existing Web site in Dreamweaver as there is no .ste file.

looked everywhere and not a hint of what to do.

    Thank you

. STE files are just the setingss of site definition you have created and exported from DW.

If this is a new installation of DW, you have still no .ste file.

Access the Site > new Site > tell DW where your site files on your local disk folder.  C:\yourSiteName.  See screenshot.

Under servers: FTP login credentials for the remote server entry.  Root directory is any folder on the server of your hosting provider told to use for your files in public_html.  This varies by host.  If in doubt, check with your web host for more details.

  • How to move the outside host Dreamweaver site to Business Catalyst

    Hello

I have my Dreamweaver site hosted with Hurricane Electric now and you want to move to Business Catalyst.  I tried to do it by opening my site in Dreamweaver and clicking on the choice of the Site/New Business catalyst Site menu but the dialog box only appears for a second and then disappears.  So next time, I tried going to my catalyst for business portal and the creation of a new site by importing my site existing since its URL, bitsong.com.  This imported most of the site but did not import the SWF files and the Unity3d player does not work.

My question is, how do I get connected to this temporary site Dreamweaver: http://bitsong.businesscatalyst.com/ and get the rest of my downloaded files and work on this temporary site?  I can do this with FTP or I have to use a new Protocol, SFTP.  Thank you.

    Barbara

P.S. I know that to push the live site, I have to change the server names of Hurricane Electric to Business Catalyst, but I would prefer not to push the live site until I have everything working on the temporary site.

Thanks, I managed to get my site downloaded from Dreamweaver using the Site/New Business Catalyst Site menu in Dreamweaver CM³.  Then, once the site has been created, I deleted everything that was already there and downloaded from my own site.  It worked.  I had to download Dreamweaver CC for this.  For some reason, the menu new Business Catalyst has not worked in CS6.

Answer: Dreamweaver does not migrate the self-sites - you must export them before upgrading, and then import them after the upgrade.
