How to install OpenType fonts

original title: problem installing fonts!

I am running Win 7 Home Premium. I need to install a font OpenType from Adobe, but following the instructions for the installation of fonts leaves me puzzled. In Control Panel, my font management utility was not an option 'Install' in the menu, under 'File', as it should according to the Knowledge Base article. Drag / drop the police do not work either... Help!

Hi jbardwell,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Answers!

Windows 7 comes with TrueType and OpenType fonts.
They work with a variety of computers, printers and programs.

* TrueType fonts can be resized to any size and are clear and readable in all sizes. They can be sent to any printer or other output device taken supported by Windows.
* The OpenType fonts are TrueType fonts, but typically incorporate a greater extension of the set of basic characters, such as small capitalization, numbers of old style and more detailed forms, such as glyph and ligatures. OpenType fonts are also clear and readable in all sizes and can be sent to a PictBridge compatible printer or taken another output device supported by Windows.
* PostScript fonts are created by Adobe Systems, which are smooth, detailed and of high quality. They are often used for printing, especially professional-quality printing, such as books or magazines.

You can follow these steps and check.
1. download the fonts you want to install.
NOTE: You can download software, Internet or your organization's network policies. You can get the free fonts from the links to Microsoft Typography - fonts foundries.
WARNING: Before you download a font, make sure that you trust the source.

2 right-click the policy and click Properties.
3. on the general tab, click the unblock button if it and click OK.
NOTE: If there is not an Unblock button, then the police is not blocked. Go to step 4.

4 install the fonts Option One-

(A) right click on the downloaded policy and click on install.

(B) proceed to step 7.

5 install the fonts Option two.
