  We need our Tecra A9 PTS52E be reconfigured with Windows XP, rather than the provided Vista Enterprise.
  I can get most of the drivers on the site, but I am stuck how to get the HDD to boot XP when the BIOS is set to Mode = "AHCI" SATA controller - it only start if I put this setting BIOS to "compatibility".

  I read on the storage and Intel Matrix controller but don't know if it's the right place - besides it doesn't seem to work anyway.
  Another question is what are the various arguments to leave in the mode of "compatibility"?

  The problem is that you will not be able to install XP on Tecra A9 without the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. This driver (driver SATA control) must be installed in order to recognize the HARD drive! Without the driver SATA XP will not see the HARD drive!

  The Intel Matrix Storage Manager can be downloaded from the Toshiba European page.
  Then, you need to include this driver by using an external USB FDD drive. During the XP installation process, you will need to press F6 to start the driver installation.

  After successful imbedding you can proceed with installing XP ;)

  Standard mode 1.) (and 2.) Expert mode.

  You must choose expert mode. There you can choose the partition where the OS is to be installed.

  AFAIK it's win-BIOS version (windows version) and not a version TRAD (traditional), so the update of the BIOS must be running OS.

  There should be an exe file that must be executed to start the update of the BIOS!

  Very simple;

  -Download the XP driver from the Toshiba page
  -Unzip the ZIP driver package
  -Go to Device Manager, select the graphics card and the update (the driver installation)
  -then choose the option install from list or specific location, then Don t find. I will choose the driver to install
  -Choose the driver downloaded and unzipped file
  -to complete the installation and restart the laptop

  I don't think that you can install Windows 7 with Boot Camp on El Capitan:

  Windows 10 is simply too new for your Mac, and Windows 7 is too old. It is quite a difficult situation. If you really need Windows, you would need to get a copy of Windows 8, or put to level to an earlier version of Mac OS X with a version of Boot Camp that works in Windows 7.
