  • How to make a mask in Photoshop Touch?

Is there a way to hide the parts of images in Photoshop Touch?

Depends on the purpose. If you are looking, say, to make a mask of adjustment, you can do that. However, the masks are used to help refine the elements such as selections. (For example, to make a selection, and then press the selection button options (icon fourth from the top on the left) and choose "Refine Edge.")

If you want to adjust the parameters like saturation or levels, try to duplicate the layer and then use Mode set the Brush tool on 'Effect' rather than 'Paint' and choose the desired effect. (Or just use the icons settings or effects to change the entire layer or selections on a layer).

  • How to make a mask in Photoshop CS3?

I am very NEW to Adobe Photo Shop and I am trying to create a mask and have problems with the lasso selection and the Quick Selection tool. I read help with layers and masks and it seems quite simple: select the part you want and add or subtract to make the mask.  My problem is in the 'selection '.  I can not select only the part that I selected. I want to choose the high horizon of trees line and the bottom of the image.  But, after I saw the tops of the trees and try "lasso" the rest of the image, it snaps back up towards the top and I'm left with about 4 mm x 30 mm lassoed (instead of 30 x 30 mm).  I also tried to use the 'Quick Selection' tool and had better results with it, but I'm still left with a very bad tree line. Does just convenient?

It takes much more than a simple practice. There the tools and tricks of the trade.

I don't know what you do to get your selection of 'break' as you describe, but I would hazard to guess that the lasso tool is not the selection tool, you need to use in the first place. The quick selection tool is probably a better choice, but you don't need to make a selection that is perfect in the beginning. This is just the beginning.

  • How to make a clipping to shape layer mask

I'm building a small widget to the web user interface, and trying to keep all of my the most changeable elements, I can (form of layers) and things instead of rasterize layer effects. I have a shape layer that makes a badge in the shape of burst, and he has a gradient on it overlay to give dimensionality. Now, I want to put a circular layer topped on it (with a transparent gradient melted in it) to give the badge a big nail gloss. The problem is that if I do the badge, a layer of cutting for the circular Fermata, the climax gets covered by the gradient on the badge overlay. I thought maybe I could dupe the badge shape layer, stip effects, then cut the nail that and set the fill opacity to 0% - making a transparent layer... but this is just the highlight disappear thus (I suppose that elements within the clipping mask are considered by embankments - and this is also why the gradient on the Baden he covers if I hang it there).

If I just rasterize my bland-in gradient and use a vector mask on it that has the same shape as the badge, it works fine. But it is not as elegantly resizable. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

Select the layers you want to hide, and then click the G command to put them in a group, and then either create a vector or a mask bitmap on the group. If you are having problems with the effects and how they interact with the mask, double click the effect and change the settings in red

make a group of them (Ctrl-G) then add the mask to the group.

    or

convert to smart object layers, and then add a smart object layer mask.

  • Created the mask - how to display the mask?

Seen about 5 tutorials, read 3 articles... see clearly how to make a mask. I'm here with my yellow box, my mask is feathered, but I can't go back to the pictures to SEE the mask in action.   How can I see the mask on video? I double-clicked everything and when I play the images, it's just a transparent background and my mask feathers.   Thanks for the help.Captghure (2).JPG

Duplicate the item in 2 layers. One directly above the other so that they are as part of frame synchronization.

Create a mask to the top layer on the badge. Pen tool

Click MASK in this layer.  Try check the box reverse in order to understand what it does to the mask.

    It feather at your leisure.

Apply a blur or whatever to this layer mask.

You must now follow if there is a lot of movement.

  • How to make a vector shape / layer in a mask without pixelation it?

Watching Nigel French on Lynda.com transform a form (using the custom shape tool) in a mask, but following the same exact procedure he does not work for me:

Select a new layer, press U, select Custom Shapes, has chosen to target record, size and release.

Voila! In the video, he gets a layer mask on this new layer. I just get a new layer - and it's driving me crazy. He goes on to pen the layer to soften the edges, which, if it is possible, can be useful.

I tried half a dozen variations such as drag and drop, creating a new layer from a solid fill color and me cannot work out how to make the shape in a mask. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I'm guessing that there is a setting I'm missing somewhere, maybe?

just to be clear, I know that I can put a mask on my vector form by clicking on the icon of the mask or of the layer > vector mask > current path, but this is not what I'm asking. I want to know how to make the shape I paint in a mask on a layer, we layer (as in the right of it).

If you can see, the video is here at the minute mark 7: create a logo with some shape layers in the Photoshop course for designers: shape layers

The transcript over this article reads

I want to fill the shape with white. So I'll do my foreground color white and press the Option or Alt + Delete as follows, and I also want to then adjust the opacity. I'll take the opacity down and here's something I want to do. I would like to pen, so that make us it sweet. Now, you may be thinking, wait a minute, all these layers of shape are vectors, how can they be feathered? Surely, they cannot be softened. Well, actually, they can.

If we go to the masks Panel, I can simply increase the amount of feathering and you can see as I do he soft all edges in this path. Now another problem I have is that the inside of this shape of the target is displayed in the center of the bagel and we do not want that to happen. So I could spend time trying to position it just so, so that we don't see. But easier than that I'll just double-click my masks to make it smaller.

Without having read what you have written here, I just Ctrl + click on the content icon in the palette shape layer layers to select the transparency of the layer.  This selection allows you to hide a layer in the layer to hide targetint then click on the Add layer mask in the layers palette.  The current selection will be used to create the layer mask.

  • How to make a layer mask to type in CC?

I am after this Tutorial: Photoshop: professional cleaning Logo - YouTube and can not find a way to make the mask layer type thing that makes the background show through. I know that the tutorial is for CS6, but they should be the same, right?

The layer mask is the same for CS6 & CC. There are several ways to do so. But the video showed him using the masking of the text tool. It uses the quick mask to make the text - where the color pink. You can size your text by holding down the ctrl/cmd key to appear of the transformation handles. Once you are happy with the size of the text, click on the checkbox validate or ctrl/cmd + enter to change quick mask in a selection. The video then shows the selection used to create a mask on a layer. To invert the mask, and punch through the layer text to show the blue below, the opt/alt key has been pressed while the mask icon has been selected in the layers panel.

  • How can I get a layer follow a mask on another layer in AE?

I know this must be a simple solution, but I can't understand it. I am new to the world of After Effects and have been dabbling in it as much as possible, but right now I'm STUMPED. I have a video clip of the tree lit up in the night and my pans device until the night sky. I'll call that the layer 'tree '. I created a mask around the top of the tree by eliminating black empty space and leaving the illuminated tree. In this tree layer pans device until the night sky, but the night sky is nothing but a black blob, so I put then an image of a night sky starry (call cela 'Sky' layer) behind that tree stratum and it shows through the mask area found (just as I want to). The problem is that I want this starry sky to go with my pan camera. It was easy to do with the mask on the layer of the tree, but I have no idea how to get the sky layer to follow this same path of retouching. Please, someone show me how easy it is. Haha.

    Thank you!

It depends on how you created your way. If it was with a mask, you can not. Layer positions cannot follow the positions of mask.

However, movement tracking can do you need: using After Effects | Tracking and stabilization of motion

  • How do while preserving clipping mask the structure layer sup?

    Hi guys,.

I'm editing a map and a need for my map divided into several rectangular segments. My card is composed of several layers and layers of sup I need to keep. When I'm mowing hide the map with a rectangle all the layers of subs merge in a single layer. How do while preserving clipping mask the structure layer sup? Looks like a "layer mask" is the right tool, but doesn't seem like CS6 has it?

    See you soon

    Carpet

Create new layer and move all other layers so that they are now under layers of the new layer. Draw a rectangle on the top layers, and then click the button mask in the layer panel. You have now created a clipping from the base of the layer mask.

  • How to make a vector in a shaper of transparency on a layer rather than in the form of layer?

I'm working on a drawing that somehow, I created a layer-all blue, which has what looks like a vector mask

on it, but the vector mask, rather than shape layer, creating transparency in the layer.

And I don't know how to reproduce this effect!

Whenever I create a vector mask, it shapes the layer.

If I take this vector search mask to this layer and try to copy it to another layer - it shapes the layer!

If I copy him on the original layer - it shapes the original layer...

So there is something on the vector mask that explains the shape of the layer is all 'outside' of the vector.

How in hell!  The "swap" button isn't available when you go in "masks" and look at the vector masks.

So, how I recreate this type of transparency mask?  It drives me crazy, because there is - as I want, but I can't

reproduce it!  I tried dup'ing mixture on the layer settings - but they don't seem to have an effect.

    Ideas?

With the active shape layer, select the path Selection tool, select

the path in the document by clicking somewhere in the path

or by dragging around the way access and then try clicking on the different shape

boxes of box in the tool options bar.

  • How to make masks.

    Hello!

I just discovered this site: Stephen Caver - luck is probability taken personally and I was wondering how the effect of mask in the title (luck is probability taken personally) was done...

    Thank you!

    Chris.

    Hi Chris,

The title on this site is actually an image, probably created in other software such as Photoshop or Illustrator drawing and then imported to Muse.

You will need to do the same, design it in any other software and place them in the Muse.

    Kind regards
