  Thank you to have moved. And you're right, this isn't windows, just a coincidence with the time of installation. I don't know what happened, but now everything is wobbly. I was getting a black and purple theme by entering in my bios instead of blue and yellow.

  The solution to remove the shadows of the desktop icon is to show the performance Options screen and remove the control of the last listed issue "use Visual styles on windows and buttons" then click on apply and then OK. This will change the global settings for Custom.

  a. right click on your desktop, and then tap rearrange icons by.

  b. see if "Lock Web items on your desktop" are checked, if checked, uncheck it.

  I saw the screen shot, I think that Aero is disabled, or the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager service is disabled or stopped. Try to run the troubleshooter 'display the Aero effects. I still don't know what caused it in the first place, but at least now I have an option of fast food if it happens again. I'll recreate the image on the hard drive after all major software install from that time, I have two images. A fundamental right after pilot installations and one after each installation of software.

  Well, I tried what l1willia said, but it does not solve the problem.  I ended up uninstalling Power4Gear Hybrid and it seems to have solved the problem.  What piece of garbage that the software was lol
