How to make a straight line with the Quick Selection tool?

Hi, I'm experimenting with Photoshop CS6 and wanted to autofocus on poles and the alley only, everything is blurry (the sky, cars, trees and higher levels). The image shows a better idea of what I mean. I am currently using the Selection tool quick to fill between the poles, then using fuzzy area, but is at - it a faster and more efficient way to do this? In addition, the quick selection tool is not perfect and shows jagged - like of the spots along the edges of the poles. I thought maybe it's posible to right field line as a box between poles and blurred in this way?WP_20130806_12_45_41_Pro[1].jpg

You would like to use the Polygonal Lasso tool to create your form of selection. Once you use blur filters, this will create a cutting edge on the mask. Select the mask in the layers panel and then apply a Gaussian blur to the mask to smooth the edge. (or use refine edge)

Once you have the choice of the exact size you want. You can move the mouse cursor in the area of selection, then click and drag the selection. If you have guide lines and align the guideline allowed the selection will jump to your guide line when you drag it close to them.

If you set line guide first. When you drag a selection section should align with your guide lines.

  • How to make default tool wand (instead of the Quick Selection tool)?

    Hello

Whenever I open my photoshop software, the default value of 'W' is the quick selection tool. I'd rather be the magic wand tool. Sometimes she stays tool magic wand, other times, it comes down to the quick selection tool. How can I get the 'W' to stay the magic wand tool by default and not switch back to quick selection? I don't want to get rid of quick selection as I use it sometimes, but I used the magic wand.

Click on the three dots at the bottom of the toolbar, and choose edit toolbar.

Drag the Quick Selection above the magic wand tool and click done.

  • Stupid question CS6. How can I get rid of my experience after using the quick selection tool?

Stupid question CS6. How can I get rid of my experience after using the quick selection tool?

The best way would be to make sure that your layer is not a background layer: click the lock icon in this case. Then click the icon at the bottom of the layer panel layer mask. This will create a mask that you can refine and not be destructive.

  • Cannot see the whole picture when you move into a smaller template with the direct Selection tool

    Hello!

I recently got my laptop cleaned in preparation for examinations and such (I'm in high school). As I belong to art class, when Basic programs have been re-installed we also got the Adobe programs, but we got the CC 2015 version instead of the version CS5, we had earlier. After a stressful week, I finally had time to sit and work on my projects aside, but I quickly found a big problem which stops at my work. After re size the image at the size I want, I don't see the whole picture when I move in the smallest area with the direct Selection tool more. Photos I use are generally quite large, that I've tried to work with now are 451mmx338mm after the scaling down and I have a 'framework of standard departure' to 60mmx15mm (I make the bosses), so now I have basically has to guess my way toward a good composition...

Can I make it work again?

Click on the image and hold the pointer of the mouse for a while. And then drag.

    Hi breeves,

Please go into Photoshop preferences > performance > advanced settings > change the drawing to Basic mode > restart Photoshop and then check

Additionally, make sure that your graphics card drivers are updated.

If this does not help, give additional details, including the version of Photoshop, you use? What operating system?

  • Tolerance of the Quick Selection tool

I was wondering if there is a way to select the tolerance for quick selection tool - like option for the magic wand tolerance.  Too often, I find that the Quick Selection selects too, so...

The logic of the quick selection tool is quite different from the magic wand tolerance digital option probably does not apply, but there is a way to make it less select. Do you know the Option key thing? If clicking on the selected too quick Selection tool, Option-click on the tool Quick Selection on areas declined. Who teaches the Quick Selection tool does not select again similar areas. Having done this, the next time that you click the quick selection tool, it should be more accurate. Clicking turns the desired areas and Option-click on the areas that you don't want, gradually refine you your selection until you get the selection that you like. Then, you can use the refine edge to tune in to the edge.

In other words, instead of juggling with figures of tolerance, you can learn the tool by clicking on.

  • Using the Quick Selection tool

I'm new to CS6... after the tutorial in welcome after that start the Narrator merges the two images... He selects a giraffe with a single click using the Quick Selection tool and adds it to another layer (Beach) is it possible even in CS6?  I tried to reproduce what has been shown in the tutorial... and can not... can you help or explain?

Without having seen the tutorial, you have to guess what was going on.  You would not be able to choose the giraffe with a simple click on the Quick Selection tool, but you may be able to select the background if it is a single solid color, such as white.  Having done this, you can either remove the background, or invert the selection (Ctrl Shift I) leaving only the selected giraffe.

Recommended from here would be to copy the giraffe selected on its own layer (Ctrl-j).  You could then drag the giraffe to the other image.

  • I would like to cut out an object using the Quick Selection tool and drop the object into another image. Can anyone help

I use background images and want to cut objects of other JPEG files using the Quick Selection tool and drop them in the background image. So if I have a banana and select the object, I need to copy the banana in the context on the other.

    Hope it makes sense.

    Gary

Select the banana. Right click > copy layer. Move tool. Click and drag to the other file. Place on the image.

GOLD: load history and banana in a stack (file > Scripts > load file in the stack). Select banana and layer for copy or create the layer mask.

  • Why the 'Quick Selection' tool works so slowly? -CC Photoshop in Windows 7

Whenever I try to use the quick selection tool, it REALLY takes a lot of time to choose. I got CS5 and it was super fast, even with large RAW files. Now with CC, it takes at least 20 minutes to choose one in a photo.

I tried "resetting" the tool - that didn't work at all.

    Help, please!

Hey! I had the SAME problem... solved in 30 minutes because I had put the CC on my laptop and the quick selection tool is fast, but on my desk of mega-fast (16 GB, 4.2 Ghz, blah, blah) Photoshop CC was by DRAG the BUTTOCKS.
The difference is that I have loaded the Office from scratch. The laptop has prviously CS5 and copied PS Édition/préférences/Performance settings that existed in CS5. ... It was the section history & Cache. "Large, flat" for the 1024 K cache sizeaffect and it States cache the value 6. I supported up to 4... EH whatever

    You are welcomed
(I was about to uninstall the CC PS! It's all good now... BTW - I have even torn from the Nvidia GTS450 thinking it was a driver problem, but there was no difference with the i5 Intel HD Haswell 4th gen... integrated graphics card then, don't do this!)

[redacted] I just did some experiments, 8 levels with a small cache size works too... so, just get out the 2 levels of 128 k if it is what you are willing to. I'm Big and flat which is 6 levels / 1024K.
