How to migrate the imac 2007 to the new iMac using the TM backup drive?

My mid 2007 iMac does start more (gray screen of death) so I have a new iMac on command.

I expect to use the Migration Wizard when the new machine arrives in a week or two from here.  I'll need to do it from my Time Machine backup disk however.

The backup TM drive is a TB drive WD MyBook Studio 2 2 (physical hard drives 2 x 1 TB) in a RAID 1 array.  This is the Firewire 800 and it looks like 2 USB as well.

The new iMac looks like it's fall in love 2 and USB 3.

So I guess I'll need an adapter of some sort to migrate my stuff to the new iMac maybe?  Can someone advise please?

Connect the drive via USB. No adapter is required.

I own an Equium A60 PSA67E and need to know how to remove the CD/DVD drive. A few days ago I tried to completely remove the underside of my laptop by removing all the screws. After doing this I found that most of the underside was loose, but the CD/DVD drive was always held in place, which means that I couldn't

I m not 100% sure, but I think there is a screw under the keyboard that attach the drive. You must remove the keyboard and check if there are screws that fix the drive.

  • Satellite Pro L50 - a: how to replace the memory, HARD drive and battery

I just uploaded 2 new video from Youtube on the L50 - A. Satellite Pro

The first is a tear down showing how to replace the memory, hard drive and battery (you can also clean the fan if it detects overheating).

BTW why they made it so difficult to get just to the battery in this model?

WARNING - proceed at your own risk and don't forget static precautions!

Hope they help and if you have any questions let me know.

Thanks for these videos. It may be useful to replace the memory, but I think that the owners of the laptop should not open the case. This may void the warranty.
    Be careful about this.

  • How to migrate the relationship between two different epm versions. -

Hello, we intend to make an hors-place upgrade to our to environment. The only thing stopping us is the question of how to migrate reports. We have already considered the following options

    (1) LCM, LCM is taken in charge only between the same versions are at - it another way.

    (2) I know there is an option to export reports in the workspace, but the disadvantage that is that each report must be exported at the same time (atlease how it is in And we have far too many reports to make them one at a time.

    (3) I have also considered the possibility of replicating data in the repository Directory (HYPERION_HOME\products\Foundation\workspace\data\RM1_Servername) of to be used as the repository directory in the new version, assuming that reports and data analysis means the reports too. However after doing this I have connected to the new environment and could not see any of the reports.

What other options are there to migrate the reports. Help, please.

Thanks for the reply of John, I looked at this option. But if I select this option if it does not affect the current environment? Because it is an output level on the spot and we will be maintaining the old environment until we get the new environment to match the old. Thanks again.

Clone the existing databases, point to the clone.

  • How to migrate the production to the server in recovery planning disaster?

We use planning Oracle repository. Currently our name of the DR Planning Application is different from the production name and Windows of the DR server names are different from Production. Otherwise, any other configuration even.

How to migrate production planning to the recovery server disaster? We stopped planning on DR server. Then we exported repository Oracle of production planning and it imported in DR Planning. We restarted Dr. DR planning planning seems to work very well, but I'm afraid to click on "Refresh planning" DR Planning - it can update the Production Server. So, how can I be sure that DR and Production planning are disconnected?
Is there something we need to do? This method seems to be faster than the migration with LCM.

Published by: Essbase Fan on October 18, 2010 10:11

You must go about it the right way, if you migrate all planning an application, I agree that it is a safer and faster way.
The essbase connection information is stored in the planning system database/schema, so as long as you have not migrated that then you should be good to refresh.
To put your mind at rest, connect to the planning application and change the source of data associated with the application and then you will see where the essbase server is that it's going to update.

  • How to migrate from Fireworks CS3 to a new computer laptop when the key to the series is lost?

I'm migrating from Fireworks CS3 to a new computer laptop. I lost the serial key number so I can't install it again. Instead, I copied the program and export/import the relevant part of the registry. And also copied FLEXnet. However, the program comes the spirit the message "licensing for this product has stopped working". I used the ADOBE recovery tool, but nothing helped. Thanks for any ideas or help them.

Products Adobe may not be transferred, they must be installed using installation files.  If you have an existing installation, then you might be able to get the serial number of this one.

If it's a Windows machine, and then try running Belarc Advisor

I get this message when my iMac wakes up after sleeping, and the player has not been removed or disconnected or anything. It's an old USB 2.0 Seagate GoFlex drive.  Is there little sleep setting, such as turning off hard drives, the cause? Or is it just time to move my old faithful to a 3.0 version backup disk?

  • Satellite Pro P70 - Has: 2nd invisible HARD drive - how to initialize the 2nd HARD drive

    I have a P70 - A. Satellite Pro
'Primary' hard disk failed, and has been replaced by the service centre.

Now, only the main hard drive is shown and the Service Center said that I had to 'initialize' the second hard drive to make it visible. They assure me that the hard drive is there, just hidden.

    How can I make visible?
    How do I initialize it?

Usually, you can initialize the disk by DiskManagement.

In disk management, right-click the disk you want to initialize and then click on initialize disk.
In the dialog box initialize the disk, select the disk to initialize.
You can choose to use the master boot record (MBR) or the style of partition GUID partition table (GPT).

Once a disk is initialized, you can create partitions on it.
After you create a partition, you can format the partition to create a filesystem (NTFS).

In various cases the ODD replacement is very delicate.

the device DVD/combined my A100-692 is damaged and I want to replace it.
I found no still no guide how to replace the unit.

    Is there something available?

    Thanks in advance!

AFAIK, you must remove the keyboard first, before you can replace the CD/DVD drive. Remove the screws on the lower side, and then you can push the disc if you have replaced the keyboard.
It seems to be a bit tricky

Maybe you should ask a technician for laptop to help. They can replace the CD/DVD drive for you.

  • How to install the second hard drive in the Satellite A200-1 of body weight?

I see my new Satellite A200-1 of body weight has two hard drive bays, the research in the second span, I don't see how a second drive can be mounted as the plug into the Jack seems to be missing.

What parts do I have to mount to place a second drive that they are held in stock by out of the local computer and are quite cheap, can someone advise me on part numbers etc of the bits I need.
    Thank you

I know that this empty place for second HARD drive is a bit confusing, but the same situation is with my A200-1CR. The fact is that some A200 models come with 2 hard drives and laptop case design this place must be prepared for this second HDD.

But this does not mean that each A200 can be improved for the second HARD drive.
