  Because I had problems with cursors of runaway value depending on size of Image in Photoshop, I went to turn off and simply uninstall CS4 Photoshop to have my serial number, rejected by the Adobe site. During a live help chat, I learned that I entered the serial number is ONLY VALID for the WHOLE of the CS4 Design Premium Suite - not individual programs - and that I had to disable and uninstall all the components of the Suite. Did this, re-entered my serial number, then downloaded the DPS CS4 from the Adobe site. No problem.

  BUT when I double click on the 'setup.app"and the status display shows things proceed well, without warning EVERYTHING STOPS at the point to halfway to disk 1. During this status quo, the status bar continues to indicate 'progresses' even if NO progress!

  As I am a Mac OSX 10.7.5 with 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory and 258,83 GB of free hard disk subsystem, memory, and storage are not the problem.

  I had CS4 Design Premium (education) on my 2006 MacBook Pro. The computer crashed, I bought a MacBook Pro 2013 and I am trying to transfer the license or product on the new computer. I don't have the original disks, but I had saved the software in Time Machine. CS4 downloaded on the new computer, but it gave me a license error when I tried to open it. I uninstalled on the Mac to 2013, got my serial number of MyAdobe and I am try to download again, but it tells me that my serial number is not valid.

  I found through the forums/troubleshooting there are a few reasons why it doesn't work:
  -New material/new Mac software is not compatible with CS4

  -All products in the suite has its own serial number and must be entered individually * (I don't know where to find these individual numbers)

  -Teaching discs purchased through 3 parts (College Library) might have codes different series/product numbers

  Anyone have an idea how I can do this freakin thing ' work? I need to get my CS4 working again for school/work and cannot afford to buy another version.

  CS4 is compatible with lion, lion mt and the mavericks, but NOT to transfer the files.  use the installation files to install your programs.

  If you have a problem dl'g, you don't follow all 7 steps.  the most common mistake is not meticulously follow the steps 1, 2, and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system, allowing you to download the correct version of the adobe.com site).

  I am re-installing CS4 Design Premium (on Windows 7 Home Prem), but the file I have all my downloaded files bought in (I didn't buy the CD) all files .exe and .7z but not setup.exe.

  Last week, I ran all the .exe, and once they had finished, I rebooted, hoping that maybe the setup.exe can run at startup. Nothing happened, so I went back to install/uninstall and cliked in uninstall, I cancelled, then install window came. Strange, but I went with it. Installation completed, but with errors. I needed to move on to a project, so I was able to run Dreamweaver and Fireworks, but yesterday Illustrator had a fatal error (in his first inning).

  
  I uninstalled again, but this time cannot deceive the uninstall program to run Setup again.

  My readme file. PDF, said I should have a setup.exe, but I looked in the downloadable files online and nothing there.

  I am trying to upgrade to CS6 Design and Web Premium CS4 Design Premium on Win 7 (32 bit).  I am nistalling from the DVD that was purchased at the Adobe store.  The box says it is for the upgrade of 3 or 4 x.   I'm in the CS6 serial number and he is able to validate it.   When he goes into preparation mode install the status bar does not change ever, and after what seems to be a very long period the Installation failed message appears.  I ran the Adobe Support advisor and followed the link to the page that you explained how to solve problems and chose to go into the registry and look for 'In Progress'.  There is no 'ongoing'.     I have CS4 and CS6 serial numbers, so they should be valid because the two were purchased through the Adobe store.   I am very frustrated!

  I just installed CS4 Design Premium on my early 2008 Mac Pro with 2 GB of RAM and a lot of hard disk space.  At the end of installation, I ran Adobe Updater 6.2.0.1474 (created 21, 2008 Ot) that was installed with the rest of the Design Premium Suite.  It seemed that nothing has been last updated by it, but I couldn't be sure.  I went to the Adobe site and searched "Updater" and downloaded a "Update Manager" that the site proposed as the only result of my research.  This file downloaded installed an "Adobe Updater" that has been created in 2008!  I tried not to run it because it doesn't seem to be updated.

  I saw a newsletter today, July 31, 2009, at MacFixit that produces a link to a page of Adobe website that is dated today!  This page shown links to the individual updates for Acrobat, Adobe Air, and Flash.  Without MacFixit, I would never know it existed.

  My experience today with the Adobe update service is mind-boggling.  Heavy is a kind word for her.  It would seem that the mere presence of an app called Updater would do exactly this - update of the entire suite CS4 Design.  Is this really the purpose of this app?  It work?  What is the latest incarnation of the Updater?

  I see where some people have mentioned on the forum that they are usually manually updating.  Why?  You confirm my suspicion that the CS4 update is not to be trusted?

  Sorry for all the questions, but I'm new to this game was updated following the scale and I need advice from more experienced people.  Please advise this noobie on more reliably update to update this beautiful suite of applications.  Thank you.

  To install a different language - MUI (MUI) - you must have Windows 7 Ultimate. If you do not have Ultimate you can do an Express upgrade to ultimate.
