  Ok. To open a document in your own format in silent mode, you register your file using AIFileFormatSuite::AddFileFormat format. Then in the GoFileFormat Manager, you treat the document, and then return an error code, e.g. kBadParameter. The document never appears and Illustrator shows no error, but you treated the file data.
