  Anyone know how to remove Windows Defender? It is not on the list of programs that can be uninstalled. When I try to remove it from the tree, I get a message that only a "TrustedInstaller" can remove it.

  It's been nothing but trouble I got my new PC in August. I spent in Avast and MalwareBytes, but I can't stop the system to get scans in tenacious Defender.   You are running Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG, Norton or McAfee? If you run one of those, she didn't have Defender. It's good, not bad.   Kaspersky does not automatically turn off Windows Defender. However, it is recommended that, as usual, Windows Defender real-time protection is not enabled when Kaspersky is installed. Its a similar situation with Windows and Kaspersky firewall products that have built in firewall.

  I used Kaspersky products for several years and it has always been the case in my experience. I just tested with Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 race and I was luckily allowed to activate the protection in real time of the defenders of Windows and the Windows Firewall.
