  What operating system?  For Windows 7, you would go to start, devices and printers, right click on the HP Deskjet 3050, printing preferences, select the paper/quality tab and some Plain paper media quick project, apply, then click on the Advanced tab and under the characteristics of the printer, select printing in levels of gray and black ink only, apply, OK.

  Which driver do you use?  Are you using the UPD or the specific printer driver?  You can find the latest version of the driver here http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=375781&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=375773&lang=en&cc=us.  If this does not work, there may be a way to configure the printer to print only in black only from the control panel of the printer, but it would mean that EVERY work of that print in grayscale not on a basis of employment on the other.

  What file format you save the image in? It is important, as indicated by error. If you left it as a PSD, then FM performs a conversion to RGB. A TIFF or EPS file properly remains blank (i.e. on the plate of K). Other formats, such as PNG to grayscale are actually indexed color and solve RGB when FM creates the PDF file in the presence of plates of Spot and where the components are mapped to the CMY plates also.

  Here is a sample generated using SaveAsPDF with the CMYK option with the same 'gray levels' file saved in the format PNG, TIF and EPS in Photoshop (Note how the PNG isn't all there, on the plate K):

  Hi, is what happens in all programs you try and print since? Here is how I was able to print a PDF file to the envy of 4500 without using a color ink:

  File-> Print-> properties-> paper / quality-> advanced-> Options of Document-> grayscale printing: black ink only

  I had the same problem at first. You open the e-mail as usual. And then in the Actions drop-down list box, you select the print option. This has worked for me and printed the actual e-mail only.
