How to put text in columns in InDesign?

Hello

I'm creating a brochure in two columns in InDesign CS3. I would like to put some text in a column. However, when I try to place text in a column, the text does not align with the edge of the column and instead of it, is placed in a large text box that spans the width of the page. How can I make text go in one of the columns? Is there a setting that I need to have chosen?

I'm still new to this program, so any help would be appreciated.

First of all, let's be perfectly clear that "place" has a specific meaning in InDesign: import from an external file. Placing the text does not include paste it from the Clipboard or by typing directly into a frame.

If there is no frame, click on and release will draw a frame at the top to the coordinate y where the mouse is clicked. This framework will extend to the margin of the lower guide, and it will fill the space between the column on each side of the coordinate guides x where the cursor was clicked, if you click on actually inside a set of column guides. If you click in a box gutter the framework will start where you click and the width of a column, but does not relieve the guides. By clicking on the pasteboaed or in the margin is similar.

Add shift when you click on and release will debit all the text in the history. ID will add images and or pages to the need to keep all the text. Added frames will be strung to your first image and fill the column guides of top margin to the bottom margin. Adding Alt or Opt puts you in semi-auto Flow - your text is fillonly a framework, but the cursor will remain charged so that you can create a new mount threaded to the first in a location/size of your choice. Holding the two works very similar to just holding the SHIFT key, but ID will flow only as much text you have space to - no new pages will be added - and the rest will be in excess.

I'm new to APEX. I have a modifiable tabular report (SQL query). When I choose the column (which is a selection list) of a certain value, I want column B to be read-only (depending on the result of an another SQL described below). It doesn't seem to be a READ ONLY section in the type of tabular report where I could put my SQL condition.

In other words, "column B" must be read only based on SQL returning following true or Exists:
Thus, to determine if column B is ready only, I need the following logic:

SELECT 'x '.
of tab1
where key = (value of column A)
and the flag = "Y".

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm curious to know why you want to avoid having a VerticalFieldManager? It's a standard way of BlackBerry to arrange fields and managers vertically. He respects the flags of horizontal alignment (FIELD_LEFT, FIELD_HCENTER and FIELD_RIGHT) for "children" and does not take into account all verticals (naturally!).

It also respects the margins of fields, which is a huge advantage - you just put properly and let the BlackBerry primitives to take care of the presentation of the screen for you. Don't try to reinvent the wheel - channel your time and energy into the functional parts of your application.

First of all keep in mind the index itself can be assigned to a specific tablespace, but it's really irrelevant what the index itself does not store. It's the underlying tables to index such as DR$ indexname$ I,... $R, $X etc which occupy space and these can be assigned to specific storage using a [preference STORAGE | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/text.111/b28304/cdatadic.htm#i1008935].

The fact that you are using a data user store makes no difference: it is the same for all types of data store.

I just have a good time doing all sorts of paths with the pen tool and split each in a subpath in controlling by clicking on subsequent to each of them. Everything looks good, but when I write the text on one of the paths, others disappear. I have every path with the pencil tool, but I need the actual paths are so I can tap on them.

They are always in the path palette. Maybe added to Photoshop only display text on path is currently.

So you can address the issue in several ways: the simplest might be:

Exactly, what is not working? Your OccCurr and OccFcst values are printed to the screen? I notice some questions.

(1) If you want to display two outputText on one line, you can surround them with a panelGroupLayout and set the page layout to horizontal.
(2) I don't think that you can place an outputText in outputText one another as in the codes that you have provided.
(3) your EL is inconsistent. What is #{row.bindings.OccCurr.inputValue} or #{line. OccCurr}? If your values are displayed, but the background color does not work, it could be the first.

Also tried with CASTING... .but could not answer me.

I just tested the approach below, which works as expected.

Control the parameters of syntax in your formula.

Use timestampdiff function in answers column formula like this

TIMESTAMPDIFF (sql_tsi_day, container_received_date, Current_date)
or else
use the same formula in RPD mdb layer create a new logical column
Right-click logical table
Select the logical column
in the logical column check using the source from the existing logical table
Add this formula
