I downloaded an .iso extension online game and I am not being able to play. Help, please

The free VLC Media Player can read a. ISO file.

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

VLC Media Player

(works on XP/Vista/7)

Open VLC and go to... Media / open file / browse to
the. Double and left click the ISO file.

Or you can use the following freeware to burn
one. ISO on a DVD file...

FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system

Download ImgBurn:
http://www.Digital-Digest.com/software/download.php?sid=470&SSID=0&did=1
(The download is: SetupImgBurn_2.5.5.0.exe)

(During the installation there will be an option to install
Shortcuts of UniBlue and the "Ask Toolbar"... you can
you want to deselect those)

Iso file of windows xp can directly be installed USB on a formatted hard drive?

    Not directly.

There is a SMALL chance that if your hardware supports it (unfortunately never say you anything on your PC or BIOS), you can boot from a USB stick or an optical drive and install Windows XP like this.
    But it is unlikely.
In addition, tell us what you mean by 'windows xp iso file. This is very vague, and we do not know what you are talking about.

  • I am trying to remove the read-only in a file of windows vista program

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the program files in Windows Vista. I have a file that I need to be able to write to and I can't get out of the read-only mode. Can someone help me with this please?

    Thank you.

You really shouldn't be messing around in the Program Files folder unless you REALLY know what you are doing, because the wrong action can cause a lot of damage to your programs (more than one in some cases).  You experience trouble intentionally caused by Vista.

But assuming you want to do anyway for some reason, the said problem as a Teen geek is ownership and permissions.  They are particularly tight on the programs folder (and hard to get around even for people experienced in this sort of thing).

You must you give full permissions and take ownership of the files or the folders that you intend to work with.  You may need to change the permissions of the parent due to inherited permissions folders.  You may also use the advanced permissions option to deal with special permissions (maybe change some while they are not inherited or others in order to provide the right permissions as well as the main permissions screen.  I don't know how long until you go to appropriating, but start with everything that you need and work upward only when necessary.  Here are a few guidelines for permissions and lines taken possession that should help you:

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

I can't believe you can "burn" a flash drive. (Someone correct me on this)

    danoVista

    Hi DanoVista,

Thanks for posting the request in Microsoft Community Forums.

With the ISO downloaded completely, simply transfer it to a USB flash drive. To burn an ISO to a USB stick, download Windows 7 USB/DVD tool is probably still your best bet.

If you encounter a problem during the creation of bootable flash drive, you can use your favorite search engine for any utility that allows to format and create bootable USB flash drives.

  • How to mount an ISO file

    Guys,

I'm pretty new on the VMWare environment so apologizes in advance for what might seem basic questions.

I want to mount an ISO of Windows 2008 file in the client VSphere 4.1.

Now when I Googled what he tells me to open a command prompt at the host and use the Assembly tool.

First question is I see a list of virtual machines, built by a previous contractor who took the site for reasons that I will not.

When I do a right click of the mouse I have a console open for each virtual machine, but what I want to do is mount an ISO file of windows 2008, so I can build a new virtual machine.

I see a name and an icon called VMCluster and under that 3 servers then under all virtual machines.

What I see is an option to go to the command line to mount the ISO file.

Can anyone please tellme how to proceed?

    Thank you

    Fred

Do you mean you want to mount the ISO in a virtual machine on a host?

If so, there are several ways to do so.

Best way to demonstrate would be: right click on the virtual machine, select "Open Console" and then in the top bar look for the icon that appears to be a CD. Click on this icon, select the CD/DVD drive and select "connect to the ISO image on the local disk.

A picture is attached below to demonstrate.
