When I tried to play on windows media player I get error msg-file type is not supported or the codec is not compatible with the player. They are .zip files. inside are the mp3 files that I need to listen to. can someone help me.

    Hello

You need to open ZIP files, which are compressed to make it smaller, then use the content
in the application appropriate - so if the audio or video content can use WMP.

Compress and uncompress files (zip files)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/compress-and-uncompress-files-ZIP-files

Although Windows has integrated ZIP, you might be more comfortable using a program
with more features (and works with different types of compressed files).

    7ZIP - free

  • How to backup on DVD under Windows Vista?

I have windows vista... Last year this time, I made a back up on 3 DVD... This week I'm redo it... I erased all the DVD... and made a return to the top... but it isn't on a single dvd... I missed something... and that was clear an error? Thank you for the answers

Hi thanks for the info... I went back and started a full backup (dvd) disc 1 well... Disc 2. a HR in and almost done, I came back to comp and it says error code access denied... !! What is the devil. ?

    Thanks for all info

I don't have a solution to your problem of file using DVD backup.

I just want to make a suggestion...

Abandon the DVD method. It's stone age, and several times he does not. I know, I have here.

Please, invest in an external hard drive and backup with it.

It will secure you all the aggravation of the use of DVDs.

You won't have to sit by the computer, feeding beside with dvd, whenever he asked one.

You can simply walk, watch TV, read a book, etc. and let the computer and the ext.hhd are doing their job.

According to the country of whichn you are, an ext.hard of 1 TB drive can be had for less than $150 in the United States and the Canada.

  • How can I open the file ASHX on Vista 64 - bit PC

I downloaded an ASHX file on the internet and my PC Vistia 64 bit does not recognize.  How can I open the file?

    Hello

File with the extension to ASHX file is an ASP.NET Web Manager.

ASHX files are files used with the ASP.NET programming and can be opened with any program code in ASP.NET (like Microsoft Visual Web Developer). ASHX files are not intended to be read or opened by the browser. If you have downloaded a file ASHX and expecting that it contains information (such as a document or other recorded data), it is likely that something is wrong with the website and instead of generating usable information, she provided this file server instead.

You can search on the Internet a program that can open this file.

Important:  Take great care when opening file formats executable received in e-mail or downloaded from Web sites, that you are not familiar with as it could cause damage to your computer.

  • How to open .eml files in Windows 7?

Original title: opening eml files stored in My Documents.

I recently changed my desktop to one using Windows XP to one using Windows 7 computer. I transferred from my old computer a great archive of .eml files stored in the My Documents folder and subfolders. These files will be open on Windows 7 unless I have change the suffix, in which case they open in a undesirable format. If I save new eml files to My Documents in Windows 7, they will still not open. For me, this is a major flaw in the Windows 7 system because I can't access previous records and store new depending on their subject. Is a practical solution to this problem? Surely, it is not unusual to store documents received by e-mail? This facility has been available in Windows XP, in Windows 7?

Right-click on the eml file and go to properties and click on the button to edit, and then designate WLM as the program with which to open the file.

I'm afraid that this answer does not help. I have Windows live mail already, but do not normally use my direct email address but my bt address as an alternative within the Live Mail "envelope. All emails open in my Inbox email bt and Live Mail ones. However, as soon as I save a message in My Documents, it opens. This applies to messages received on my account of LiveMail and my bt one. I checked this earlier by recording a message on Live Mail in connection with this request. It seems ridiculous to me that Windows 7 should allow live mail to use for communications eml files, but makes them useless for the economy. It seems to me that the only solution for me is to upgrade to Windows7 professional, and even then I have my doubts because my current Windows 7 Home premium came me pre-installed and I'm not sure whether it will accept the upgrade and if so, what will be the effect on the programs and data I already installed.

  • Password protect Zip files in Windows Vista 64-bit

    Hello

Windows Vista Ultimate allows me to send files to a compressed folder.  I read several answers elsewhere that you can then open the folder and select "File--> Add a password...". "to add a password.  However, I can't find it.

    Can anyone help?

    Chris

    Hello

The ability to natively password - protect a zipped file was removed from Vista and Windows 7.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/can-I-protect-files-or-folders-with-a-password

If you want to protect a zipped file, you will need to get third-party compression software that supports this.

  • I get an error when you try to restart my computer adpu320.sys is corrupted under Windows Vista 32-bit.

The operating system was installed when I bought the computer and it asks me to fix it by placing the windows vista disc. I don't have the disks but have the product key on the bottom of the computer. How can I solve this problem without the disc. I tried to recover from a date earlier and who does not.

Appreciate any help I can get.

    Hi Mcsimmons,

Did you the latest changes on the system?

Because the adpu320.sys file is corrupted, you will need to arrange for an Installation of Windows Vista disc repair to start the system to solve the problem.

The option is not absent from CC. The Preferences dialog box has been redesigned a bit. Go to the workspace and disable the Documents open as tabs.
