  you're right, that Append table report will change the width of the column, according to what is specified on the column width and the system of measurement for the width of column entries. However if you set the width of column-1 than cells in model of is not changed.

  To answer your question, there is no specific VI which will give you the width of excel cell, but you can use the activeX calls and information. If you open the Excel function, you can see how these Excel ActiveX calls are made.

  I'm trying to convert a string of csv containing a cluster in a string array as part of a definition of profile for temperature/humidity chambers. I don't want to just format the output array because the values are not the same type. Can I use an empty string over the terminal of formatting? I have attached the VI. I also saw a few wiz bang csv read/write of things, but it's a school project so I can't use the code.

  Just use %s as your format string.

  Do not use table of cluster and then ungroup cluster.  This is a hack, a Rube Goldberg.  Just use Index Array.  It's resizable down in order to get successive indices.

  If it's a web application, you might do the following:

  Download the file from the client to the application server, there is a FileUpload-bean in the sample forms.

  Write an ontop of some excel library such as Apache POI-RICH or JExcelApi java program to extract the necessary data.

  Use the importer-Forms-Java (I'm not sure, but it should be already there in forms 6i) to create a PL/SQL-wrapper around the java code. Now you can use pure PL/SQL for reading excel fields and process the results.

  I have a VI that displays an array of strings.  The display is about 20 high of 20 channels of wide channels, while the berries in it are much more important.  I compare two files to find the differences.  When differences are found, I want to somehow hilight or focus on the block or the string that is different.  Is there a way to do this?  Is there a way I can visually hilight part of my array of strings?  I looked through the nodes of different property, but could not find something for this.

  I don't know if tables can highlight a particular section.

  But you could do a thing.

  Display table in a table, and then display the background color of these special cells where the differences lie.

  If you place a table not formatted (Excel spreadsheet) in the cells of InDesign with '-1' are not displayed :-(

  The Adobe solution is to use the tables formatted, but that is no option for us, because if the numbers in the excel worksheet updated, InDesign loses real formatting and rebuilt the Excel formatting :/

  The problem is understandable for Adobe, but we didn't have the suspicion to ask in the forum for a solution.

  I think the problem is the operating system and independent version of InDesign - we everywhere (Windows 7,8,10) and Mac OS X, CS6 CC problem - there is a bug/feature in constand.

  Does anyone have a solution or a solution to our problem? :-)

  In Excel, you must precede the - 1 with an apostrophe (so '-1). As you probably know, this is unnecessary with other negative numbers... If I remember correctly.

  It is not sufficient for formatting just these cells as text in Excel, the apostrophe is necessary.
