  • How can I add on my current C drive unallocated disk space?

    Recently, I removed a partition of my Win XP laptop running.  Unlike the example of how to do it, I was unable to extend the drive C partition to new disk space unallocated.  Just try to get more space program.  Already had a split of 50% between the drives C and D.  You don't want more than one partition.

    Unfortunately, you can not do with the tools built into Windows XP.  You will need a 3rd party disk management application.

    Here are a few options in alphabetical order (some free, some not):

    Acronis Disk Director
    EASEUS Partition Manager free

  • How can I ask as at least 10 GB of disk space?

    I added in increments of 10 MB of disk space for a total estimate of 30 MB.

    Is it possible to request a greater amount of disk space for my Apex (P-Track) application in order to share with the team?

    Kind regards

    -Joe

    Hey Joe,

    You can feel free to contact me directly.  So, just to set expectations, 10 GB most likely will not.  But we will be discussing (internally) what are your real needs.

    FYI - instead of use this external discussion board, you should feel free to use the link to 'Internal application Express Discussion Board', linked off the coast of the login page on the APEX instance that you are using.

    Talk to you soon!

  • ColdFusion 9.0 with over 9 GB of disk space

    I have a Coldfusion 9.0 Standard installation, it works great except for one year later, I noticed the use of more than 9 GB disk space.  I thought that software required only 500 MB of disk space? Please offer suggestions to reduce the disk space used, it seems more space is used by the runtime directory in the ColdFusion directory.

    Thank you!
    Tony

    Running Coldfusion 9.0 with MS SQL on a Windows Small Business SERVER 2003 box

    Indeed, it requires approximately 500 MB, have you tried looking at what the real files, take up space?

    I guess they are the log files in runtime\logs.

  • How to reformat the laptop with Vista

    I don't know how can I format my laptop.i have family vista premium, I made a file of data recovery d and I don't know what to do next to format.

    * How can original title - I format my laptop? *

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
  • How do I reinstall Thunderbird with minimum destruction to existing e-mail files
    To save you time and effort, I read through the General procedure to reinstall Thunderbird (TB). In my case, however, found nothing which describes the procedure to the smallest detail, beyond ensuring backup / image content in my current profiles folder.
    From what I've read, once TB is reinstalled, I simply copy (restore) content into the new profile folder created by the installation.
    In my case, that the backup has already been done - because I have little space on the startup disk, I led TB to keep all my data on another drive, which drive is labeled with the letter D. My current installation of TB correctly use D for all the data without any problem. So, in theory, everything is already safe during a reinstallation of TB. Except that, after the reinstallation, I lead TB to place all user data on the D drive.
    But who takes care of all the settings for a POP3, IMAP, and SMTP server for all my email, also well configured by the ISP accounts? Is that all that I have missed? Fear that you think I'll put it all on your shoulders, I intend to represent all of the system before reinstalling TB, just in case.
    The things you mention are in profile, that your imaging process will likely restore to the D drive.
    Education at Thunderbird refer on the drive D to find his profile is stored in the profiles.ini file, which will probably be restored by your C drive imaging process.
    So I think you're good to go.
    Only intervene if you change the structure, such as the transfer of the profile data on another drive, or change the path in a different way.
  • How expand you a healthy (C:\) partition in the unallocated disk space - used to be partitioned as D:\?
    At some point in the past, someone partitioned my hard drive in C:\ = 15 GB and D:\ = 95 GB.  It is the source of the problems. I can't afford to pay someone to fix it as I became unemployed.  SO after some research, I gutted and then deleted the partition D:\. Then I went to "diskpart" in command prompt and typed "extend", thinking that would extend the C drive in the now unallocated space that used to be the partition D:\. Got mssg "part of disk cannot extend the volume. Please make sure the volume is valid for the extension. "How do I do that?  Thank you.
    As you discovered, you can't extend the system (C) partition using tools provided with Windows.  You need a third-party disk partitioning application.
    This one is free: http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm and this one is $9.95: http://www.paragon-software.com/home/pm-personal/
