How to remove an HP Envy dv7-7230us bezel?

Recently, I cracked the screen on my computer laptop dv7-7230us of HP Envy and wonder how to remove the bezel to change my screen. I see no screws to screw to replace the broken screen.

A video tutorial is usually the best way to go.

The best way to find a way to do is to go to youtube.com and search for replacement of the HP Envy dv7 screen.

  • How to remove bloatware of envy dv6 Windows 8

    Product name: Envy dv6

    OS: 8 64-bit Windows

    Error message: no

Changes: No, just open the laptop

    Problem:

What I try to do is simple:

I recently bought a new laptop for my girlfriend, but was embarrassed to find that I could not remove all the bloatware that was installed with it (snapfish, games Wildtanget, HP +, HP Games, MUCH more).

I read a ton of forums, tutorials and tutorials on removing bloatware from what I thought was Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista, ect.  I found no usable information.

I went to uninstall programs in Control Panel System. Frustrating although applications such as snapfish, HP + and HP Games, for example were not on the list of programs.

I've restored the machine twice now and have found no change in the programs. The list of programs is unchanged. The laptop came with disks of recovery, and from what I've read, that they would also have the bloatware on them.

    How to remove these applications?

Most new laptops have an option called Image minimized in the Recovery Manager. This recovery HP only reinstalls Windows and important drivers/software. Have you seen such an option?

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03489643

BTW, HP Recovery Manager also offers the possibility to burn recovery discs.

  • Want DV7-7230us: HP Envy DV7-7230us dual band wireless compatibility

    Hi all -

I have a DV7-7230us that I've updated massively since the purchase at a great price about 3 years - new display, 500 GB SDD, Win10-Pro, memory maxed out, etc..

This laptop has all the abilities and raw power I need a laptop, but one thing that bothers me is the minimap original wireless in - it's single-channel video, 2.4 GHz a/b/g.

I would like to replace it with the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 2 x 2 Networok/Bluetooth adapter (7260.HMWWB. (R), but I just want to ensure compatibility before you start down this path here - anyone had success and/or advice I should on this? If not compatible, does anyone know card dual band wireless compatible AC that works?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Your machine was built long before mid-2014, so the chance to upgrade the wifi card is slim to zero. There is a list on page 7 of the following document:

Option: AC USB wireless card is the way to go.

  • ENVY of HP dv7 7230us repair - HELP!

    Hello

I am trying to replace my screen and processor, motherboard and having all kinds of problems. First my camera fell. During the re-booting I noticed the screen turned white, but the cooling fan has been executed and the charging light was still on. I also noticed that the cover lock blinking continuously and the wifi was on but orange. Since she was an ssd that I couldn't tell if the drive worked except the small led on the side front right was on. I then shut the machine down, not connected the power adapter, took out battery and not connected to the RTC battery. Then, I pressed the power button down for 30 seconds to erase all stored tension. I then reconnected the battery RTC, the AC adapter and the battery. After re-booting, the screen turn black. The caps lock blinking continuously and the wifi was on but orange. Essentially the description above. I bought a new view compatible, used ENVY dv7 7000 series motherboard and a processor AMD A10. The original processor was an A8. I then reinstalled everything and even put the hard drive installed in the factory, Toshiba 750 g, I got the same results as before. This time, I could actually hear spinning drive. If everything worked. I even tested the ram original in another machine and found it was good. I also plugged in a monitor and nothing. I am at a loss. I'm trying to send the Commission in Exchange for another. Anyone know what is happening here? I missed something? Would appreciate any input. Thank you

    Al Hebert

In addition, the original processor, AMD A8-4500 Series, has 2 functions? CPU and GPU or is it just a GPU or CPU. I do not understand how it differs from the older processors.   Thanks again

The relocation of the CROWD?  I'm sorry what is a MOB. Yes, I remove the RTC battery. I tried to start it with and without the RTC.

    Hi there @infohack

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

I can certainly understand your concern about this mix of partitions, and I am happy to help you with this.

As a first step, this page: partitioning and naming of readers (Windows 8)

There is also this post of @Daniel_Potyrala , even if reference is made to windows 7, it is loaded with useful information that applies to windows 8 as well. Its theme is more on the preparation of another drive with partitions, but this part of the update, there is information on the purpose of most of the partitions that you ask the subject.

How to repartition the disk HARD of HP notebook with pre-installed Windows 7

Since some of the partitions you listed are not labeled, it is difficult to tell what some of them are, but in a UEFI environment, it is possible one of those is a part of this environment. The recovery partition would have your plant to install the image. I would recommend you do a CD set of recovery as well via the recovery manager. You can make only one series.

I hope this helps a little.

    Hello

I tried Ubuntu in my HP Envy X 360 15 - w002nx laptop.  After you uninstall using uninstaller os, single operating system Ubuntu is deleted but not the GRUB. It always shows in the UEFI boot order. How to remove Ubuntu boot order entry? I tried EasyUEFI and also bcedit.exe command. It removes the entry, but after restart iis to come again. How to get rid of this problem?

    I appriciate your help.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum.

In order to achieve that you need, please read these articles and follow the steps.

You must first remove the EFI partition Ubuntu (actually, I think ths is what you see)

After that, you can remove the HDD MBR GRUB using bootrec.exe /fixmbr and /FixBoot Bootrec.exe (this is done using CD/DVD recovery Windows or with Windows 10 - >ISO)

    Hello

Did you know that it's a job for parts of authorized service provider ? If you wish, for the RAM, try it please:

    1. turn off the computer. If you don't know if the computer is off or in hibernation, turn on the computer and then stop it through the operating system.
    2. remove power from the computer by disconnecting the power cord from the computer.
    3. disconnect all external devices from the computer.
    4. remove the battery (see battery on page 27).
    5. remove the optical drive (see optical drive on page 28).
    6. remove the bottom cover (see low cover on page 31).

as mentioned on page #38 of the following record:

  • HP Envy 15 k046nd: Envy 15 k046nd how to remove the keyboard (shift of collage and key)

    Hi all

    Short version:

Does anyone know how to remove a single key on the keyboard without breaking? (or if it is still possible) I tried some things, but have failed.

    Long version:

Unfortunately, I spilled lemonade on my keyboard last week. I cleaned it all that quickly, and nothing is technically wrong. But after 2 days some keys on my keyboard started to stick very bad, especially the entrance and the shift key. They still work, but it's very annoying. I have tried lifting below them and cleaning, but that has not worked, and I also can't get down them. I looked for a way to replace the keyboard, but I have to essentially take the computer laptop all apart + it's expensive. I hope someone can tell me how to down the different keys without breaking!

    Thank you

    Leon

    Hi there @leonsmits,

Welcome to the HP support community! I read your post and wanted to tender hand can help you! I read that you want to remove the keys of the keyboard because they hold and you want to clean.

If a key is physically stuck in the down position, you should not replace your laptop. Many keyboards have keys that can be removed by inserting a knife to butter under one edge of the button and gently lifting upward on the upper and lower edge. Please NOTE: To avoid damaging the cushion under the key, insert the knife to butter only 1/8 of an inch under the edge of the key

After having removed the key, using a buffer with alcohol, clean the underside of the key and the key on the keyboard slot. Put the key in the snapping it back in place.

Here is a document for you called portable keyboard troubleshooting. There is a section in this document, called a laptop key stuck. This section will help you to guide you how to clean these keys.

If the keyboard doesn't have keys that can be removed, you may need to replace the keyboard or laptop service.

    Hello!

My question seems a little odd, isn't it? I bought a HP Pavilion dv7-1285DX two months ago. I don't know how to remove the battery from the laptop! Sounds crazy, I use HP laptop for 5 years, but I could not understand how the hell should I take the battery from this new guy! Could someone please tell me what to do. If you know how to do it please show it with a photo or something, or set up a website or video or something.
Thank you and all comments are appreciated.

    Hello

    Follow these steps: -.

    BE VERY CAREFUL!

Before you begin any Setup or uninstall procedure:

1 shut down the computer. If you do not know if the

computer is turned off or in hibernation, turn on the computer.

and then stop it through the operating system.

    2. disconnect all the external devices connected to the computer.

    3. disconnect the power cord.

    4. remove the battery by following these steps:

    a. turn the computer upside down with the front

    towards you.

    b. drag and hold the 1 battery release latch to the left.

(Disengage the front edge of the battery of)

    the computer).

    c. lift the front edge of the battery 2 and bring her back.

    d. remove the battery.

Reverse the above procedure to install the battery.

  • Upgrade the RAM for HP ENVY dv7-7233nr

How much could I add? I currently have 481 GB free of 569 GB. My computer will not slow down, but I use this laptop for games and I would like to have more space for custom content for the Sims 3 to download. It works not too badly, but there is a little late, and sometimes it freezes. I don't know if it is possible to add ram, so that's why I'm here.

I would like to know how I'm going to do.

    Hello

A little delay could be due to its graphics, BUT you can't do anything on this subject. Your machine currently has 6 GB of RAM:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03509235

You can switch to 16 GB as shown:

    http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/HP+-+Compaq-memory/envy+dv7/envy+dv7-7233nr-upgrades.html

You can buy from them or use the information (including the price) to buy elsewhere.

    Kind regards.

  • activate the AHCI mode on Envy Dv7 - 7398ca with SSD

    Year old i7 envy Dv7 - 7398ca notebook with SSD Samsung 840 Pro x 256.  Windows 8.1

I've updated to the SSD shortly after I purchsed the laptop.

No problem except the Samsung SSD Wizard software keeps tagging me as AHCI mode is disabled and must be enabled and I do not see it in the BIOS.

Or I see anything that relates in the device as IDE Manager or other.

It seems that the SSD is optimizing not itself based on the fact that it considers that AHCI is disabled.

I apologize for the issue being this topic seems to be beaten to death over time, but I do not see what relates to this model or similar.

    Thanks for all the ideas.

The system is set to ahci or RAID mode. You can tell that by opening the Device Manager and look at the storage controllers. Anyway it is optimized for SSDS and TRIM is activated. You can simply remove the program from Samsung and rest assured that your SSD is optimized.

  • Envy dv7 Motherboard upgrade successful... sort of.

    Hi all

I'm working on a laptop HP Envy dv7 - 7227cl.  I replaced the motherboard and have now two questions... one is that the system requires an activation again.

The other is that the new motherboard will not charge the battery... It wasn't a problem on the old motherboard...

Battery test told me that the battery failed the test when you use hardware diagnostics from the bios.

I don't have another battery to test with.

I know that the original motherboard is a 682220-501 (part number of HP), and the news he gave me is a 682220-001... Could it be the problem?
