  Are these really necessary? I understand that one or possibly many may have to do with Bitlocker, but the #3 partition in particular looks like it's just foreign. It's not like she's taking a lot of space, but it seems unnecessary.

Its theme is more on the preparation of another drive with partitions, but this part of the update, there is information on the purpose of most of the partitions that you ask the subject.

  Since some of the partitions you listed are not labeled, it is difficult to tell what some of them are, but in a UEFI environment, it is possible one of those is a part of this environment. The recovery partition would have your plant to install the image. I would recommend you do a CD set of recovery as well via the recovery manager. You can make only one series.

  Windows 8.1 is more or less updated to Windows 8. The only way how to make a dual boot these two is to buy a license retail of Windows to get a new system with the OEM installed by default in. The version of Windows 8 must have disabled Windows updates in order to ensure that it does not refresh to Windows 8.1. I see no logical reason why having a dual boot like this. It's like a dual boot with Windows 7 and Windows 7 SP1.

  I did 6 recovery disks for win 8 installed at the factory. I upgraded to 8.1, HDD started failing so I tried: external cloning, cloning of 2nd HARD drive in the Bay from 2nd and two of these operations failed. I formatted the HDD new and loaded my original win 8 and it says 100% installed then rebooted and said that he could not find \EFI\MICROSOFT\Boot\BCD. Please, I need one direction other than jumping off a cliff.

  Ok. Sorry to hear that you did not have serial or usb disk recovery recovery media.

  This means that, unfortunately, in your case, than to buy a set of HP or send to drive hard reimage is your less expensive options.

  It would be wise to buy a set of recovery disks or to ask if an instant multimedia usb HP rcovery disc is available for your laptop.  At least this way, you would be not dependent on any other repair of your PC. You could do it yourself after reading a tutorial or watch a video on using the recovery media.

  I have a DV7-7230us that I've updated massively since the purchase at a great price about 3 years - new display, 500 GB SDD, Win10-Pro, memory maxed out, etc..

  This laptop has all the abilities and raw power I need a laptop, but one thing that bothers me is the minimap original wireless in - it's single-channel video, 2.4 GHz a/b/g.

  I would like to replace it with the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 2 x 2 Networok/Bluetooth adapter (7260.HMWWB. (R), but I just want to ensure compatibility before you start down this path here - anyone had success and/or advice I should on this? If not compatible, does anyone know card dual band wireless compatible AC that works?

  Your machine was built long before mid-2014, so the chance to upgrade the wifi card is slim to zero. There is a list on page 7 of the following document:

  Just a few questions if you let it. Unfortunlsoately my laptop fell on the floor and the screen cracked. I have a new replacement on the way. Mind you, I replaced the screens of laptops before gently and smoothly. On each of them, in the place where the cable Ribbon which extends from the motherboard and attaches to the screen he is and was a warning label 'do not touch'. Take this warning seriously I've always avoided this and do not touch.  On the WANT DV7-7230us the place where the ribbon cable connection is made it is difficult, but not impossible, to do not touch this area. It is a possibility, I might have to hold a small area to re - attach the cable on the new screen. My question is why he cannot be touched? I somehow damage the new screen if I accidentally touch or hold this area? Just one simple answer other than 'just don't touch' would be great.  Thank you.
