How to replace a single key

I have an Acer Aspire S7 and I would like to replace a single key on the keyboard, which means that the rubber gromet and maybe the part plastic which contains the physical key down too. I would like to know the process behind this for the obvious reason that I break continually my key. If it's important I would replace the BACKSPACE and the more / equals key next to it.

Thank you

  • Replace a single quote

Hi all. Can someone please... in plain English... tell me how to replace a single quote by a space.
It has worked for other special characters, but not for a single quotation mark.

    UPDATE ON DOLLAR. RELATIONSHIP_TABLE
    SET DEPOSIT_RELATIONSHIP_NAME = TRANSLATE (DEPOSIT_RELATIONSHIP_NAME, ', ' ' ");
    commit;

    Thank you very much.

The code you have there replaces all commas with a space. You will need to escape your apostrophe using two of them as "

    Try this:

    UPDATE DOLLAR.RELATIONSHIP_TABLE
    SET DEPOSIT_RELATIONSHIP_NAME = TRANSLATE (DEPOSIT_RELATIONSHIP_NAME,'''',' ');
    commit;

  • Satallite A100: How to replace the keys?

Is there a manual on how to replace the keys once they come out?

My Satallite A100, a year, lost two keys a few weeks ago, and I am unable to replace them, even if I have all the parts (little). It got even worse when some more broke recently, when my grandson some peeled off, using exhibit created by the keys already disappeared.

    Thank you!

    Hello Mike

Read your ad I don't understand exactly what is wrong with your keyboard but deleting and creating keycaps (plastic with written symbol) is not problematic. You have to just put this right into place and push it gently. You will hear a click and the key CAP will be back to the square.

Under this cap is placed small plastic mechanism. It contains two small plastic parts. If they are deleted from the bottom, you can put them inside once again. To see how it looks like to remove any other key cap and see how it is placed.

I did the same today, and with a little patience you can put it in the right position again.

  • Tecra S1: How to change some keyboard keys?

    Hello!
I need to fix a Toshiba Tecra S1. To the old keyboard the 'Windows' key has been broken. We bought a new keyboard but the problem is, that the layout of the keyboard is English, but we need to German. So I have to change some of the buttons of the keyboard here.
Is there something how it goes easily? My first try isn't good, I can't hang up button in the keyboard support.

Can someone give me some advice?

    Thank you!

    Hello

You can replace only the key caps but not all buttons!
If you need another keyboard configuration I recommend contact the dealer again and replace the keyboard.
I put t see problems why not replace!

  • Satellite P200-1EE - how to replace the keyboard

Ive just bought a replacement for my P200-1EE keyboard, I have an idea but how to replace, anyone know?

    Hello

The keyboard is fixed with four screws that are hidden under the cover of the thin plastic strip above the buttons of the F1 to F12 keys keyboard.
You may need to remove this plastic cover to gain access to the screws.
But you must be careful because it could break.

The keyboard is connected to the motherboard with a flat cable.
First disconnect in order to remove the keyboard.

But note; If your warranty is valid you should not try this because it might void the warranty.

  • Instructions on how to replace a keyboard on a Portégé M800

    Hello

I messed up my original keyboard by flooding with water, then drying it up to the point where some keys melted.
I know it's a stupid thing to do. But, what I can say...

I tried to ask a technical center to fix, only a few buttons were unresponsive. Everything else works fine.
Without really looking in detail, they wanted to change the whole motherboard and a number other parts for a price close to that of the computer laptop itself.

So I bought a new keyboard on eBay. However, I am lack of instructions on how to replace it.
On the net, I found the instructions for older versions of Portege and unfortunately there is no place for the M800.
    Can anyone, please, help?

    See you soon,.

    / Numidic

    Hello

I think that you will not find instructions how disassemble a Portege M800. You can download just the user's manual and technical manuals are not for the public, I think that they are no longer available for s ASP.

Anyway, as far as I know to remove the keyboard support and two screws they secure the keyboard. Then you can delete it.

But to be honest I recommend to contact a technician from the laptop to help. Computer laptop disassembly isn't easy, it s a little more delicate and you need to remove a large number of screws. If you are on the safe side because M800 is fairly new to laptop. ;)

  • Equium - how to replace the HARD drive?

    Hello

I need to replace the hard drive on my Toshiba Equium.
Can someone tell me the procedure? I changed it once before, and I remember having to press one of the function keys when I turned on the laptop with the new hard drive installed.
Should I have the recovery disk when the laptop is turned on with the new hard drive installed?

    Thank you very much

    Tim.

    Hey,.

You should take a look in your user manual. Sometimes you will find a detailed how instruction replace the HARD disk, but it according to your laptop model.

If you swapped the HARD drive, you need to reinstall Windows. Therefore, you can take the Toshiba Recovery disk that will restore the initial setup in a few minutes with all the drivers and tools. You only have to boot from that drive and that s all! :)

Could someone give me instructions how to replace the DVD drive?

    Select this option.

    I found it!

It's the single screw! It is under the flap of the memory.

  • How to replace the keyboard Vaio 15 Flip

If the keyboard on my Flip 15 suddenly stopped working. Market not even work in the BIOS. I tried a coercive power off and battery off pinhole and nothing has helped. The backlight still works and if I press Capslock on a USB keyboard, the green light on the laptop press Capslock becomes very well, but not a single key on the keyboard does nothing. The key of the Windows logo on the screen still works, and the Assist button still works. Good thing the BIOS menu takes in charge the touch pad AND the touch screen!

I wanted to see if the keyboard was replaceable, so I can go on the order of one off eBay or something (unless Sony sells parts direct?), so here are some photos I took along the way.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/Step1.jpg

After power off, switch off the power of the battery using the trombone for 2-3 seconds

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/Step2.jpg

After removing the 3 rubber feet, there are 10 screws to screw

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step3.jpg

Lift the casing to open gently and work your way around the edges.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/Step4.jpg

There are 8 screws that hold the battery. Remove and remove the battery.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/Step5.jpg

Although only the upper-left corner of these 4 screws is now directly the keyboard, remove the other 3 and turn the shutters to exit both cables in water. Remove the hard drive here will make it easier to push on the bottom of the keyboard later.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step6.jpg

Yet once, only the top left screw shown here directly holds the keyboard, but the last screw attached to the keyboard is behind this metal, so unscrew the 5 others live here marked 1-5. These 5 will not come out all the way.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/Step7.jpg

Unplug the power to the fan by pulling upward. The last screw attached to the keyboard is behind the metal as shown. I folded just Assembly of the road a little to access the screw.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step8.jpg

Here you can see where the holes behind the hard drive, which allows you to easily start the withdrawal of the keyboard.

Only detach the superior, left and right by pushing upward and work your way around. The lower part of the keyboard (closest to the touchpad) will just slide upward and out after that the other 3 sides are released.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step9.jpg

Here is another view with everything removed.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step10.jpg

The back of the keyboard, showing where the 3 screws attached. Tablecloth for the keyboard cables attach to the motherboard by dragging the output to the front (not not turning up like those on top of the hard drive).

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step11.jpg

The keyboard is completely removed. Circles show where the 3 screws attach to the back.

Well, I hope this is all useful to people. I put all together and the laptop still works fine. The keyboard does not at all well, but I know that I can replace it myself now.

    * edit * will probably order http://www.ebay.com/itm//171781254290 because it does not resemble Sony sells direct parts I can find anywhere. Ordered http://www.ebay.com/itm/260951528702 instead for like $2 more, because the Canada ships seemed faster than ships from China.
