  In the Finder (or an alternative file manager) is there a way to show previews of image files, but not for the other files?

  With the image files, it will display a preview. With other types of file, a preview is useless and its best to see a standard icon indicating the file type.

  Any decent file on all Linux distributions browser lets you choose Preview vs standard icon based on case by case basis depending on the file type. I can't see how to proceed in the Finder (or the various alternatives as TotalFinder). How can I me Finder for this?

  The thumbnails, you mean? I don't think that there is a 'decent' solution for OS x. But then again, I don't know everything.

• Import of 3 images fail - no preview, no image, but metadata are there?

  I upgraded to LR 3.2 and I am satisfied with her performance and improving the image. However, I have three images taken during a recent trip to the mount Rianier who refuse to import correctly.

  LR does nothing with the original files. He built that a preview of the file. If the file is already damaged LR will not be able to build the required preview.

  The original images that you see in LR are the preview embedded in the RAW file jpg files. It is likely that this is what you also see in other viewers of the photo, rather than a rendered preview that's why no corruption shows.

  If the preview rendering corruption, or not at all, as is the case, the most likely reason is corruption that occur because of a defect on the map sd/cf. The next most likely reason is emerging hard drive failure.

  Hi Gregory Trinidade,

  You can try to create a folder in the C: drive and copy the images on the desktop folder C: drive.  After copy in C: drive then try again copy on external hard drive and see if it works well or not.

  Make sure that you have access to the C: drive. Also instead of cut photos copy in another location.

  When I'm in a folder with images of the thumbnail of the file or the Preview on the right side, preview the file. In other words, the thumbnail and preview displays the photo icon 'generic '.

  I have several pictures and I just wanted to see if there is a way to view them as thumbnails in the files tab in Dreamweaver cc 2015. Just, I think it's silly to have to open/preview each of them.

  The active panel (under window > active if it is not open) has a small generator to preview when you click on an image.

• I can acess the present lowres preview for images in offline mode?

  I manage one archive image big enough and I don't keep the last shoots which are held in a single volume to the computer (online). All the old shoots are offline. From time to time, however I have to send some lowres old shoots off line, but I have no need for the RAW-res file. Is there a way to access the lowres previews? All export functions are disabled until I have reconnect the missing volume. From now on I just took a screenshot from lightroom, but it would be useful to be able to simply take the lowres directly from the Lightroom Catalog. Someone knows a way to do this?

  Yes, there are several ways, and depending on the platform, you may or may not wish to ulitlize even.

  Select the preview, hit Print, then go on print to JPEG are a way to do what I think you want.

  If there are a bunch, you can implement a Board-contact, and print to JPEG.
