How to restore files from a backup made during a system recovery?

I have a HP Pavilion a6700y Desktop PC running Vista 64-bit. I had to do a system recovery, and I backed up my files, such as recommended.

How can I restore them?

Thank you

Tiggy

Acutally, that I found was in a folder named MINWINPC, there was a folder with the date of the backup, and that is a file named Backup.1.exe. When I ran that the files have been restored - very slowly. What you say can be applied to a different version of what I have.

Thanks a lot for the input!

    Hi Davey5852,

    ·         What program did you use on Windows XP to back up files?

If you use NT backup: backup the files in Windows XP, then you will need to download and install the Windows NT backup - restore utility to restore the backup created with Windows XP.

My system has blown. I used the system restore gateway with backup of user files. Running again. However, my images and Document file folder doesn't have any of my data in it.

I searched my C: drive and found the backup. All my data is in the file Documents & images. My question is: How can I copy the Backup\Documents and the Backup\Pictures in my current photo system and Document files.

As you have guessed, I'm not real informed on the use of a PC, especially when something goes wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

    ·        Have you tried to copy the files and photos from the backup location and paste the folder documents current systems by selecting all the files and right-click on it and clicking on copy and paste it in the folder of document? What happens when you do that?

I suggest you to send all the files and other data that is present in the location c:/backup on the USB drive and then copy the files to the USB in the documents folder and check.

    Thanks and regards.

  • After trying to synchronize with my laptop and failure, I've restored files from a backup and make me "this connection is Untrusted" I have not found a solution.

I uninstalled Firefox 40, deleted the profiles folder, reinstalled Firefox, restored Firefox 40 and profiles from a backup and I still get this message. I even downgraded to a previous version and restored the profiles for this version and still this nasty error pops up on everything I try to do. I can't find any info on where are stored other files of files I'm not restore or change which still linger. I've never seen anything like this. That's after spending 3 weeks completely updated and change Firefox according to my needs and dumping Chrome, that's what I get. It seems I have to go back to chrome that I need a browser that works. I tried everything I can find this issue nothing works. I am really upset over this especially after that spent all the time from Chrome to Firefox. I really need an answer or I'll have to remove Firefox and return to Chrome, as much as I hate to do this. It still works!
Someone has an answer for this? Is their draw at Mozilla to help with this? Help!

Sorry for the delay in answering your question.

Another possible reason for "sec_error_untrusted_issuer" If Firefox is not configured to trust your security software, such as Avast, BitDefender, ESET or Kaspersky. If you use one of these popular products, reinstall your product can take care of the problem, or some manual adjustments may be necessary. If you use one of these, please mention which for more specific suggestions.

  • In any case to restore files from a backup .inp to reformat?

OK, so recently I had to reformat my Windows 8 Pro ultrabook. I tried to update the operating system, reinstall the OS before that I had to format and restore from a previous restore point. Unfortunately, none of the above methods worked as I couldn't get past a never-ending startup screen or a blue screen error. When I tried to reinstall the operating system he saved all my files from the user to an external hard disk in a .inp file format. It also creates a file migr.xml and include.xml to this folder location. After crossing the include.xml file in a text editor, I saw all my files that were lost were in the .inp archives. Is there anyway to recover these files?

I know that it is about a year too late, but if anyone runs into this problem (like me) there is a simple solution. Go to the dell Web site:

    www.Dell.com/.../en

and download the MigRestore software, this will allow you to recover the INP.files in your backup folder. Dell Backup and Restore software will not recover the files that contain files in XML document which is a major flaw of course.

I spend hours looking for the solution, so I hope that this will save someone some time.

    Kind regards

  • How to recover data from a backup of HP without HP Recovery recovery

Have HP p6230f AMD processor under Windows 7 Home Premium desktop unit.  Got infected with a Trojan horse really serious and it has corrupted so badly, it wouldn't boot Windows.  I did not have a recovery disc and can't find not all disks containing software to purchase, but I could start in the HP/Win 7 recovery page and backed up my hard drive of 10 DVD of the .wmi files.  After that, I couldn't repair Windows so I had to download a Windows 7 .iso file from online and do a fresh install of Windows 7 without the HP software.  Now, I have 10 drives backup but none program Cyberlink/HP Recovery.  How can I get the info from these to repopulate some of my programs such as Quikbook and Quicken?

Browse DVDs, probably on the last of them must be a file named RecoveryMgr. If you find it, double click RecoveryMgr.exe, activate the authorization, it will unpack wim files in a folder on drive C named "system recovery" will take time to decompress all the files.

I have music files to the trash by mistake; How can I restore them back?

    Hi there butcher.

Looks like you have your entire music library in your basket and you want to return whence they came. This step of the following article should help you to do:

OS X Yosemite: delete files and folders

If you change your mind before you empty the trash

Click on the Recycle Bin to open it, and then drag the item to the trash, or select it and choose file > put back.

  • Restore files from a backup

I got a Windows Vista Home Premium, I have all my files on an external backup hard drive before I did a factory setting.

I updated to Windows 7 Home Premium, now when I try to restore my files is not the date to which I save before the factory setting but if I go to the computer and click on the external drive, it shows the date I backup my files.

There is another way to restore my files?

  • take files from a backup of the laptop and put it on windows 7 / firefox

My laptop has been cut. I would like to take files from a backup made a few months ago on the laptop - and put them on an upgrade to windows 7. I want only a few files and my tax file is on the computer of windows 7 (from the laptop). I don't know what would happen if the laptop backup C D has been placed in the windows 7 computer.

  • How to restore the days mulitple backup in a single pass

I have a Windows Vista Home Premium computer, had implemented the Windows backup to back up every day. The computer exploded after a year. The computer has been fixed. Reinstalled the system software and ran all the updates. Then mount the backup drive and fired up Windows backup - went into Advanced Restore. He presented the list of the files that were essentially dates from the backup (of course more 365 of them) and when I clicked on the last date, and progressed to restore it gave an error message.

Spent a lot of time searching forums without help.

Decided to try to restore the backup more FORMER first - it worked like a charm. Then I thought, well, maybe this restore process is primitive and I need to restore each day in turn. So I went to an older and she restored correctly. I did it for approximately 10 cases, but each of them took about 10 minutes or more to restore.

Please tell me there is a better way to bring back all these files.

Also disappointed to learn that only the folder of the USER has been saved and more expensive versions of Windows Vista has done a more robust FULL backup - including applications and the ability to perform a system recovery. I hope that the variants of Windows 7 do not have such a gap in quality of backup.

    Help, please

Hello h20sdavid ·         Are you able to browse the files that are created in the backup? ·         Requires external drive that you are installing the software and/or before pilots to use and you have installed them after reinstalling Vista? ·         What is the error message you get when you try to restore the backup? You can try to change the drive letter for your external hard drive and check if you are able to restore the backup. 1. open computer management by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-click computer management.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. 2. in the Navigation pane, click Disk Management. 3. right click on the partition or drive that you want to change and then click on change drive letter and paths. 4. to change a drive letter, click on edit, click on assign the following drive letter, click the letter you want to use and then click OK.
