How to restore function HDMI on Windows 7

Stupidly, I disabled playback HDMI device in the audio control panel, because it does not switch back to the speakers of the laptop when I unplugged the HDMI cable and I wanted to listen to something on the laptop.  I thought wrongly that it will reappear when I restarted my laptop, but it did not.

How to restore this feature now that it has been disabled?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi Tania,.

To solve the problem for you, follow the steps below on how to enable the playback devices:

  1. In your peripheral system tray, right click on the "speaker" icon.
  2. Select the playback device.
  3. Click inside the window of playback devices , on the Read tab , select Show disabled devices and Show disconnected devices.
  4. Find an HDMI output, right-click on it and select enable.

Let us know how it goes

Kind regards

  • How to restore factory settings when Windows does not load?

I'm recovering from the laptop (Dell Inspiron N5010) friend who has been infected with a malware ransom (ICE Cyber Crime Center Backdoor.Win32.ZAccess.erds). I used the Kapersky rescue disc to remove the virus from the ransom but now Windows will not load and I suspect that the MBR has been affected.  At startup, the Dell logo appears and the window loading appears briefly, but then you have the 'blue screen of death' flashes and the cycle repeats.   The bsod error is:

A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO AVOID DAMAGE

    ON YOUR COMPUTER

IF THIS THE FIRST TIME YOU ' VE SEEN THIS STOP ERROR SCREE.

RESTART YOUR COMPUTER. IF THIS SCREEN APPEARS AGAIN, FOLLOW

    THE FOLLOWING STEPS:

CHECK FOR VIRUSES ON YOUR COMPUTER. REMOVE ANY NEWLY INSTALLED

HARD DRIVES OR HARD DRIVE CONTROLLERS. CHECK THE HARD DRIVE

TO MAKE SURE THAT IT IS CORRECTLY CONFIGURED AND COMPLETED.

RUN CHKDISK /F TO CHECK FOR HARD DRIVE CORRUPTION, AND THEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.

    TECHNICAL INFORMATION

    STOP: 0X0000007B (0XF78D2524, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

The F2 and F12 keys work, but the F8 key will not open the "Advanced Boot Options", so I can't to the "Restore Dell DataSafe and emergency Backup" or any other advanced option.  System Restore will not work either.

I ran chkdsk and sfc hard disk (via the Kapersky Rescue disk) and neither solved the problem.  Then I copied its data on the hard drive.

I would like to restore the laptop to factory settings (assuming that it would be better to reinstall Windows because the drivers Dell would be included already?).   There is a folder on the hard disk called "emergency" and contains a Backup*.exe file and several Backup*.dsb files.

Is given this scenario, possible to restore to factory settings?  Or am I forced to reinstall Windows from scratch?

    What version of Windows?

7b error message indicates the operation SATA (SATA Mode) setting got changed in the BIOS Setup or possibly the hard drive may be roasted.

Restart, and then press F2 before Windows starts to load to open the BIOS Setup. Look for the option SATA or SATA Mode operation (models name it differently).  I don't see the BIOS screen options in the online manual, but the options for this parameter can be: RAID, AHCI or RAID Autodetect / ATA. Post back and we say exactly what options are available and how she got now.

If you are in the BIOS Setup, also find the Boot Sequence option and make sure that the internal hard drive is ranked first on the list. If it is not first, move it to all first, save the changes and exit the installation program. See if it boots now.

If you reinstall Windows by using a Windows Dell reinstall drive, you should not ask for the product key. It should install automatically by itself. HOWEVER, you will need to have the product keys for all the other apps that you want on this system, for example Microsoft Office, so make sure that you have the product keys and the floppies to install before you clean the hard drive.

If this is a desktop computer, it is unlikely ever, there was a wireless installation installed in it.  That being the case, you will need to go into a computer store and buy either a Commission of add-in or a USB wireless device.

  • How to restore the icons of windows 7 original for shortcuts

    Hello

I use Windows 7 Professional. In a completely unexpected way (probably after installing Nero essentials 8) pictures of my shortcut (with the classic arrow) icons have changed. Now ALL my shortcuts are represented with the same icon files that are not associated with any program (generic icon).  Now, it is very difficult to distinguish things and to distinguish between files and programs.

Notice that this happens only with the shortcuts, all other icons are good.

IconCache.db is no longer available in Windows 7, or at least I can't.

I don't even know if it's a problem of cache if the icon itself of shortcuts is damaged or missing.

I tried restoring the system five times, I try every restorepoints that would be prior to the problem, but it does not solve.

Is it possible to solve the problem without having to reinstall windows?

    Sincerely

    Danilo Renzi

I did the same thing and had the same problem on my T500 (which includes a fingerprint reader...).

I fixed it to Client Security Solution (a ThinkVantage program); there I clicked on 'Footprint', then 'manage '. After authentication, I clicked on 'Settings' at the top of the window, then unchecked "Disable Fast User Switching Support. After a reboot, everything was back to normal.

  • Restore files lost on windows 8

How to restore files lost on windows 8

    Hi Ed,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. You have deleted the files you want to recover?
    2. Did you recently upgraded your system to Windows 8?
    3. What exactly happened which made lose files?

If you have lost files, there are some steps that can help you recover them. Historical files regularly backup versions of your files in Documents, music, photos, videos and office files and OneDrive files available offline on your PC. Over time, you will have a complete history of your files. If the originals are lost, damaged or deleted, you can restore them. See the following article for assistance.

Restore files or folders by using the history file

If, however, you reset, refresh, or reinstall Windows, your personal files are temporarily stored in the Windows.old folder for 28 days (unless you have formatted your hard disk before install). If you decide to part or all of these files, you can usually recover from this folder. So, I suggest to refer to the following article and check if it helps.

Retrieve files from the Windows.old folder

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.
