How to return to NO PRIVATE browsing in FF v 19.0.2?

I chose the PRIVATE BROWSING to security checks, now I want to go back to NO PRIVATE browsing in FF v 19.0.2? And it is gray and Ctrl + Shift + P does not work either.

This feature should be built in like the previous versions.

How can I return to STD or NO PRIVATE browsing. Yes, I'm the only person who uses my PC and I'm over 21.

see you soon,

klxdrt

Hello ariel, with a simple click you can close the incognito, only if you click on the [x] in the upper right of the window (or close the window).

Thank you

Your list of details of the system shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time you start Firefox.
The user.js file will be present if you or a other software created this file and normally will not present.

You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: 'Open with'; do not double-click).
The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

Windows hides certain default file extensions.
Among them .html and .txt, so you can see only a file name without .ini and .js file extension.
You can see the type of actual file (file extension) in the properties of the file via the context menu in Windows Explorer.

  • How can I know if private browsing works? The purple mask does not appear when I click on the mask icon. In my privacy settings "never remember" is selected.

I'm trying to confirm private browsing works. At the moment, I have no way of knowing whether or not it is enabled. The purple mask, referred to in the help does not appear when selected. I should say in my privacy settings, I have never chosen "remember", for the story.

Hi willpublx, when you have selected never "remember history" in the privacy options so you are actually in 'permanent private browsing mode' and that there will be an extra mask icon to indicate that.

  • How can I completely disable private browsing

I would like to know how to completely disable incognito at least preference to withdraw all my Apple devices.

No, you cannot remove it from Safari on ANY iOS device. If you do not turn it on in the browser, it does nothing. It's as good as it gets. You can try a third part of the browser, but frankly most of any decent browser will include this feature in one form or another.

  • Is there a way to return to my private browsing for what it was? Seriously, I hate the windowing system.

The name says it all. That devil thought windows were a good idea? I'm sure that's the reason for which tabs were invented. IE5 called, it wants it's windows return.

Y at - it a setting or an addon any who can tackle this terrible change?
If this is not the case, what is the language of the addon for firefox and what is a good website to learn the basics.

I don't want my private and mixed public. I want to be able to press ctrl + shift + p, have all my tabs disappear and come back only when I press ctrl + shift + p again.
Since it does not seem to be a real solution for this delayed change, I'll just reinstall 19.

  • Ok. I am in permanent private browsing mode. Don't know how I got there, but how to get out? If I can just click on private I navigation ned it?

somehow I'm always private browsing mode. When I click on the file and go to "new private window", I get a new window but no small mask at the top on the right. " I understand that this means that I am always in private browsing mode.
How can I disable this function so I can open a private only when I need one?

    Hello Smokenguns,
Thanks for asking! It seems that you use some custom settings for history and an option enabled lock you in a permanent private browsing mode. Here's what to do:
Go to Menu > settings > privacy there, uncheck the box that says always "use Private Browsing Mode. See the screenshot if you can't find it.

    Have a great day!

  • How to cancel a download in firefox's private browsing mode?

Hello. When I download something in private browsing mode, I understand that it does not appear in the download window.
How to cancel a download without closing the private window?
I don't want to close all the windows because I have several tabs open and it will be really bulky to close all tabs and trying to open all again just so that I can cancel a download.

Details of my system is as follows.

    Name Firefox
    Version 24.7.0
    User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0

    Thank you.

You can perform the same operations for downloads in navigation mode as in your regular browser window. There are no pop-up downloads, but should open a separate tab for downloads in private browsing. Alternatively, while in a private window, you can enter topic: download to your address bar, and it should show you your downloads that are spend in your private browsing windows.

On another note, is there a reason why you are using Firefox version 24? The current version of Firefox is 32.0.2

  • How does private browsing exactly work?

I know how to open and use the incognito using my FireFox, but I want to know how it really works. Need temporary save my navigation data to a particular location in my hard disk, and then delete every thing once I close my window private, or it keeps all the navigation data in the RAM?

All data is kept in memory and not stored in the Firefox profile folder.
When you open a new private window all the session data is stored in the Firefox profile folder and new data is created for the private browsing session.
When you end the session mode PB by closing all windows in PB mode then the data is flushed and session data are reloaded.

In Safari, tap the icon at the bottom right of your iPhone which shows 2 boxes stacked one on the other. After this tapping, tap private in the lower left corner. You can disable private browsing following these same steps.

My employee began to use it to do work unrelated to private browsing search during the day, how will I know what she's doing online if she uses the private browsing? I need to be able to monitor the use of the internet.

You can use your network, firewall, routers, modems, etc. to track the use of the internet. If it is not currently implemented, refer to the manual or call a COMPUTER professional to set up monitoring of the internet.

  • How options are related: "confidentiality > don't remember history ', ' privacy > settings customized user > permanent private browsing ' and ' security > remember passwords?

It is said in support of the pages that the option ' Privacy > don't remember history ' is equivalent to private browsing.
He said also that after you activate private browsing does not store history or passwords.

So how are related options: "confidentiality > don't remember history ', ' confidentiality > settings customized user > permanent private browsing ' and ' security > remember passwords?

    (1) if I activate "Privacy > don't remember history" fact it also means that the passwords are not stored?

    (2) activate instead
"Privacy > settings customized user > permanent private browsing."
This still implies that passwords are not stored?

3 If 1) or (2) are together, what is the role of the apparently independent option "security > remember passwords?

I'm sorry but the logic of the user interface is not really clear for me

    Thanks for your help.

    1. Yes. Setting "Firefox will: don't remember history ' prompts you to restart Firefox, after which 'always use private browsing mode' will be checked. The option "Remember passwords for sites" will be disabled and unavailable (grayed out).

    2. Yes. It's the same thing.

    3. as I said, in this case the option "Remember passwords for sites" would be unavailable (grayed out). The rest of the time, this option allows to disable the registration of passwords not in private browsing mode.

    Hello

As mentioned in the description of the add-on, this add-on can only be disabled / removed when Firefox is safe.

    Use the following steps:

    1. Closing of Firefox
    2. Hold down the SHIFT key and open Firefox
    3. When the "Firefox Safe Mode" window choose 'Boot mode safe' - NOT 'reset Firefox. "
    4. Click on "Firefox" button and choose "Modules". Remove it.
    5. Close Firefox, and then open it again to the top (this is getting out of safe mode)

The add-on should be gone and you can use Private Browsing Mode even once.

    I hope this helps.
