How to reverse a clipping mask?

I was curious on how to do the opposite of what would normally be a clipping mask.

As a general rule, apply a clipping mask would do this:

But I would like to know how to do this:

Using a method which does not require the magic wand tool and who can do the inside edge anti-aliasing.

Turn off and unclip the layer acetti.  CTRL click to load a selection and add a layer mask to the rectangle layer.

You're OK with path Operations in the Options bar (with the tool pen or selected shapes?)

    Create new layer and move all other layers so that they are now under layers of the new layer. Draw a rectangle on the top layers, and then click the button mask in the layer panel. You have now created a clipping from the base of the layer mask.

  • How to create a clipping mask in photoshop touch?

    I want to be that lines with a photo showing through it, like a window to the text. I think I need to create a clipping mask. I can do it in photoshop touch? If so, how?

    Hi Sashakit,

    In Photoshop, you would definitely be able to use a clipping mask, you have the right idea. There is no function of masking in Photoshop Touch, but I found a way to get the same effect you!

    1. open the image you want to show through the text.

    2 choose the menu " more ' (& symbol) and choose the option text.

    3 type the word or the sentence and fix it where you would like to show through. Choice of black or white for the color is the easiest to see, but a lot no matter what color you choose.

    4 use the Magic Wand selection tool and do not forget to click on the additive . When you tap each letter, it will be a group of pieces for you chose the additive option.

    5 now that your letters are selected, make sure that you type on the bottom layer (with your photo). The selection must always remain active.

    6 choose the menu with the pencil icon and choose extract... This will delete everything outside your current selection.

    7 now you can delete the layer with the text on this subject or replace invisible to see your new picture!

    I hope this helps. See you soon!

  • How to apply a clipping mask to this image?

    bit.LY/1VM6deh - please help! I created this image in Illustrator, but can't apply a clipping mask. I thought that I converted paths to an object. I only objected to feature of contour - path. I have also grouped objects.

    Consolidation is not sufficint.

    You need to combine them using the Pathfinder palette.

  • How to make a clip play back in the timeline and how to reverse a clip from left to right?

    I would like to know if it is possible to:

    1. make a video play back in the timeline

    2 reverse a clip from left to right orientation

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, both.  The specific method may vary from one version to the next.

    1. make a video play back in the timeline

    Right click > speed / duration > reverse speed

    2 reverse a clip from left to right orientation

    Apply the simple 3D video effect.  Adjust rotating it 180 degrees.

    I have a script which aligns a groupItemToBeAligned on a layer to an another referenceGroupItem on another layer, well. Problem comes when the groupItemToBeAligned consists of elements that have a clipping, masks just to help

    groupItemToBeAligned.position = referenceGroupItem.position;

    Does not work, he takes the position of all, what is the best method to align what is actually visible? I tried to use:

    var vBounds = referenceGroupItem.visibleBounds;
    x1 = vBounds[0];
    y1 = vBounds[1];
    x2 = vBounds[2];
    y2 = vBounds[3];

    Produces the same results unfortunately.

    In the document bound are 4 groups of 2 or 3 forms.  envelope mesh gradient distorted within a clipping mask is the one on the left.  I need to try a lot of different gradients to see how they look distorted in order to release it and again it will be tedious.  I just click on look look-click click on watch by the nuances of gradient.  I know that I can use Recolor work to change colors even if there is an envelope.  But I want to be able to change things in an envelope just as you can change things in a clipping mask, because I know that the data is always there, no way to use it?

  • Clipping Mask reverse

    Hello

    I'm working on a simple design of a Sun. I want that all the rays of the Sun to have an as far away from the center circle. The rays are three lines which run all the way to appear at the other side of the Sun. I made the rays using lines with a heavy blow, and then I chose each line, went to the object > path > stroke outline to convert the lines into an object of four points.

    I reached equal space around the Sun by simply applying a white line around the Sun, I did as an example of what I try to achieve. Is it possible to apply a reverse clipping mask or another method to cut all the lines perfectly around the circle?

    Sun.pngthe circle of the Sun.

    You can select all the objects and select object > break down (it can offer to break up the look in option)

    If you expand all objects you can then use Pathfinder > fracture to cut all objects on another. If you ungroup then the resulting objects, you can remove all additional thresholds that you don't need, leaving you with your rays and the Sun (note that they will be all filled objects, without hits)

    This will also cause the paths underlying rays have cut through your circle, so if you select all the "pieces" of the circle and use Pathfinder > unit you can "go back".

  • How to make a static clipping mask?

    I have a group of objects that move in a work plan 700 x 500 px. The size of an object in this group is a map that is outside of the artboard. I want this group to be only 400 px high, but doesn't change anything within the group. Just shorten the height of the clamp. When I tried to cut just the height to 400 the clipping obviously followed the zoom of the animation of the group. I want the hight to be static at 400 when playback of the animation.

    Any ideas? Do I need a second clipping mask as I would have added if I worked in Illustrator? If I could move a group within a static clipping mask. If so, how can I create one?

    I'm not sure I understand.

    If you want the circles do not follow the group what you have to do is:

    • Select the div and make overflow hidden group
    • resize the size you need
    • Select only the elements of the group you need
    • Move the item where you want it.

    Hello

    I've been using illustrator for awhile now, but I keep coming across this sort of thing in free vectors that I download. I enclose a simple file to illustrate this. My question is, how do they do that? How to create a circle inscribed in a circle in which the inner circle mask filling of the outside circle, but can also be repositioned and resized?

    I hope that makes sense! I tried very hard to understand this part of the Illustrator, but I can't get it. What is a characteristic of clipping mask? It's in the way that you save the file/create the file that allows you to do this?

    Anyway, any help is very appreciated. The vector below is extracted from http://www.freevector.com/grunge-apartment-vector/

  • How do I cancel the application clipping mask permanently,

    Hello

    I hope someone can help me.

    I am having trouble with adjustment layers.

    I made a choice I want to brighten up a bit, and then I make a selection in the appropriate field, and then choose "curves" in the adjustmenlayers to inform the selected area.

    I also want to remove some red, only that chosen area, and then I choose "colorbalance" and I "alt-click on" between two layers to adjust only the desired area and whole picture, and it shows by a small 'broken arrow' he uses the previous layer to create clipping mask.

    And it works just great!

    But no more!

    Because now it suddenly applies this clippingmask - without me permannetly "alt-click". So now when I choose 'curved' the little broken arrow is here! And that bothers me big time, because I can't figure out how to make it stop. I know I can "right click" and click on "version clippingmask" but my point is, I don't want to do that, I want to stop it, unless I said, by "alt-click on ' betwwen the layers.

    I browes severeal forums, and the only thing I can find is how to make the clippingmask, not how to cancel it (Undo permanently, that is...)

    He owes me a sort of parameters... But I can't understand it. Does somebode please help me

  • How to get the transparent lines in a black box (clipping mask)?

    Hello

    This is the first time I use Illustrator, so I hope it's a simple question.  I created a black box and a series of segments of white line through it.  Now I need those white lines to 'cut' the black box.  At the end of the day, I need just the black parts of the box with transparent bottom lines in it (so the lines take whatever the context located - that is a different image or color).  I tried to group the line segments and create a clipping mask, but had no luck.  Does anyone have advice on how this can be accomplished?

    Thank you, Marc

    Expand the white lines, then use the Pathfinder Palette tool for either Subtract (without tool) or divide the white lines in the cup of the black box as desired.

  • How to make a clipping to shape layer mask

    I'm building a small widget to the web user interface, and trying to keep all of my the most changeable elements, I can (form of layers) and things instead of rasterize layer effects. I have a shape layer that makes a badge in the shape of burst, and he has a gradient on it overlay to give dimensionality. Now, I want to put a circular layer topped on it (with a transparent gradient melted in it) to give the badge a big nail gloss. The problem is that if I do the badge, a layer of cutting for the circular Fermata, the climax gets covered by the gradient on the badge overlay. I thought maybe I could dupe the badge shape layer, stip effects, then cut the nail that and set the fill opacity to 0% - making a transparent layer... but this is just the highlight disappear thus (I suppose that elements within the clipping mask are considered by embankments - and this is also why the gradient on the Baden he covers if I hang it there).

    If I just rasterize my bland-in gradient and use a vector mask on it that has the same shape as the badge, it works fine. But it is not as elegantly resizable. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

    Select the layers you want to hide, and then click the G command to put them in a group, and then either create a vector or a mask bitmap on the group. If you are having problems with the effects and how they interact with the mask, double click the effect and change the settings in red

  • How to close a form image drawn to create a clipping mask?

    Hi friends,

    I hand - drew a skirt, took a picture of my design and trace the image to create a vector of my image.  I now use the clipping mask to fill my skirt with a pattern of drawing. See my skirt of drawing and model below.

    Screenshot (39).png

    The only problem is that my drawing is not closed.  In the upper left corner of the skirt, there is this opening in the drawing (detail shot below).  What is the best way to bridge that gap, so I can use the image as a clipping mask?

    Thank you!

    Screenshot (40).png

    Use the shapebuilder tool to fill the inside of the skirt with a color (any color)

    To close the gap, first double-click the tool in the tools Panel to enable detection of space.

    The colorful filling can be used as a clipping mask.
