  The use of Windows Mail in Vista Home Premium, how can I set a preference to leave a copy of each message entering on my server of the ISP? Currently, if I download email in Windows Mail, I can no longer access my ISP via iPad or iPhone.   I see your message that you get an error in the mail indicating that there is a problem with the mail server or the network.  To help get this problem resolved, I suggest that you follow the steps below:
  

  If mail refers to a problem with the mail server, or the network

  Mail will say that it is impossible to connect due to a problem with the mail server or the network. For example, the message may refer to a connection that has expired, or too many simultaneous connections:

  

  If you are connected to the Internet, but the connection has expired, your email provider might be affected by a discontinuance of service. Contact them or see their status Web page to ensure that their e-mail service is online. Examples of status pages:

  • iCloud mail status
  • Gmail status
  • Status of Yahoo mail
  • Status of the AOL mail
  • Status of Outlook e-mail

  If the message indicates the number of simultaneous connections, too many of your devices is check your e-mail account at the same time. Quit Mail on one or more of your other devices.

  If you are still unable to send or receive e-mails

  1. Make sure that you have installed latest version of the Mac software updates, especially if the problem occurred immediately after the installation of a previous update.
  2. In OS X El Capitan or later version, you can see a status icon and the short error message in the upper right of the Mail window, under the search box. The message may indicate 'Network offline' or 'Connection failed', for example. Click the message to see more details on the issue.

  At the same time, according to the account, you had a selection in Mail preferences to store messages for consultation offline. You no longer have that option in Mail. Now Mail keeps a copy for viewing offline on all accounts IMAP automatically, and you cannot change that.

  You have different options with other e-mail clients, but I'm not sure about this. Your other option is to not use an e-mail application and just access it from webmail via a browser. Then nothing is stored on a computer.

  Subscribed IMAP folders accounts configured to synchronize and place a copy of the folder on the server in the profile of mail, but this issue is constantly updated to match the server, so if you have new messages then these changes are made to the server folder and the folder on your computer is updated to match the server folder.   It is not all the time, but it happens sporadically. The only way to retrieve messages to work is then to restart the Mac set. I'm running El captain and only, it started to happen after I upgraded from Yosemite to El captain.  Any ideas how to fix would be appreciated!

  What e-mail program? I see two easy options.
   
  1: Open the folder with the pix. Select one and then Ctrl + A will highlight all. Right click and drag them to the body of the e-mail message and copy here box. Who should attach if you use an e-mail client.
   
  2: right-click on the folder with the pix and send to | Compressed (zipped) folder and attach that.
   
  Note that your mail server has a size limit for the size of the message which the \pix can be a problem. If this is the case, use a site to download like Photobucket and provide the link. Let the recipient download them.

  Windows Mail does not highlight for bad luck or an AutoCorrect entry.
  Windows Live Mail will highlight with red, but not auto correct. It will show you the possible spelling on the spelling list.

  Either you empty your emails in MS Wpord then copy to Windows Mail, or install Windows Live Mail.
  Do not give up Windows Mail, they have to coexist, except that you must choose a default.
  Windows Live Mail will automatically copy evrything you have in Windows Mail when you have finished installing.

  These keystrokes work in most lists in Windows:

  1. Click on an item to select it;
  2. Click on an item to select it, hold CTRL and click on either one to be selected at a time;
  3. Click on an item to select it, hold the SHIFT key and click another to select both and everything in the meantime;
  4. Click on an item to select it, hold CTRL and press A to select all the items.
  Press DELETE to remove the selection.
   
  You will find it easier to select multiple items in the Contacts folder, if you select view > Details.
