How to send data to a flash drive for windows 8

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop windows 8. I took the data from my old XP on a flash drive, but cannot find a way to transfer it to windows 8. When I plug the USB in, an ad for Clickfree appears and now at all nothing happens. Am I supposed to get the flash player will in another way? I only am not very PC to mind so would like a simple answer. Thank you.

Hi Ruth,.

1. what type of data you are trying to transfer using the flash player?

2. using a Clickfree Traveler automatic backup flash drive?

I seems that autoplays flash player when you plug in the appliance.  Instead of trying to Autorun flash drive, you can copy and paste the data to the PC Windows 8.

You can also turn AutoPlay and check if it helps.
a. in the start screen, type autoplay and click on AutoPlay in the list.

b. now, under removable devices, click the menu drop down and choose non.

c. click Save at the bottom of the window.

Now, to copy the contents of the drive to the computer, follow these steps:
a. plug the flash drive into an available USB port.

b. navigate to Windows Explorer.  To open Windows Explorer, simply type computer from Windows 8 start screen and click (computer).

c. here you can access your USB key. Double-click the device and display the data.

d. now you can copy and paste the data to the location of your choice.

Let us know if it helps. If you have any other questions, we will be happy to help you.

  • How to transfer pictures from the flash drive for PC

Uploading images to a flash drive

a friend gave us a flash player that has pictures on it. I plugged it in and it turns on but I get nothing on my screen says thast there download or anything like that. How can I get my photos once they are uploaded?

They don't automatically upload. In some versions of Windows, when you insert any type of removable drive (flash disk, CD, DVD, etc.) you will get a dialog box asking what you want to do with the content. I find it quite annoying, but, in this case, it would be useful, because then you can choose from various options that may include any software you have to display the photos.

As this did not happen, press the Windows key + E to open Windows Explorer, click Folders in the menu to display the folders pane, then click the icon that represents the flash player. You should see (depending on your display options), a list of the icons or thumbnails of the photos. Try a double-click on one to see if some kind of viewer opens (for example, if you have a recent version of the installed office and they are JPEG files, they will probably open in Microsoft Office Picture Manager). If this isn't the case, right click on one and choose open with. You can have a few viable options listed; If this is not the case, click on choose program... and select a probable from the list in the dialog box that opens.

Note that this will only display the photos; they are still on the flash drive. To copy them to your hard drive, you will need to drag them from the flash drive into a folder on your hard drive.
  • How to install the 'real' Microsoft Bluetooth Driver for Windows 7

I'm a developer.  My system uses Bluetooth and is designed to use socket connections.  It works very well with the 'real' driver for Microsoft.  I distribute a USB radio that works with the real Microsoft drivers (work and tested on Windows 7 with the Microsoft drivers installed) I continue to turn in computers with OEM (non-Microsoft drivers) taking control of all Bluetooth devices.  In XP and Vista I could usually update the driver and choose the right pair.  I find computers on which Microsoft drivers seem to be missing and so I can't select them in Windows 7.  It may also be that Windows 7 is not allowing me to choose (tells them best driver already installed).  Is somewhere to download and a way to install native drivers Microsoft Bluetooth of Windows 7 on an OEM modified system that does not include these drivers?

I get an error 0 x 80070570 when you access my flash drive using windows 7, but the same flash drive works perfectly on two other PC's with Windows XP. It's frustrating because I need to backup and transfer files.

    Hello

1 you get an error message with this error code?
    2. is it a problem with this particular flash drive only or all flash drives?

Let us run the check disk utility.
    Here's how:
    a. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.
    b. click the drive you want to check, and then click Properties.
    c. click on the Tools tab and then, under error-checking, click Find now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will be a problem, but not to fix them.

  • Use the flash drive for the paging file

Hello. I would like to use a USB flash drive for the file rather than the HARD disk to increase performance on an older system. I've set up to use the flash player and the system restarts. But whenever I check, it uses the HARD drive. Why doesn't the setting?

Hello. OK, well I got what I was doing wrong. I never put the c: for not having a swap file.

    http://www.ehow.com/how_6054256_use-USB-memory-RAM-XP.html

    @greenestguy

Swap file cannot be larger than 4 GB, so no need for a 8 GB flash drive. Save some $$.

Don't know why it would be a bad idea because MS have programmed it in Vista and Win 7 as ReadyBoost. I suppose there is always the chance that I don't see any difference on the old hardware, but I do not see how it would break anything.

    Hello

From Windows 8, Microsoft integrates Flash Player in Internet Explorer and all updates are distributed by Microsoft, no Adobe.

In addition to checking that Flash Player is enabled, please ensure that the ActiveX filtering is disabled, see difficulty ActiveX in Flash Player in Internet Explorer issues.

Today is patch Tuesday, which means that Microsoft will come out all sorts of updates, including an update to Flash Player for IE.  I don't know when they're going to live, because the update has not yet posted to Microsoft Security Advisory 2755801.  You can check this page later today, or run Windows Update later today or tomorrow to install updates.
