How to separate vShield Manager with vCenter

People, we have installed vShield manager. Before you configure devices such as EDGE or APP, we decided to go for some change major grace to which we would like to uninstall the vShield Manager. I just wanted to know how we can separate vShield Manager with vCenter or simply if I delete device it will be deleted?

Please help.

Thank you and best regards.

Hari.

No,

VShield manager is a device managed by plug-in.

If you previously uninstall component vshield vshield link manager, you can remove the device and then remove the plug in. (like other component like Vmware Data recovery,...)

Kind regards

Julien.

I'm installing vShield Manager in my environment of vCloud/vSphere 'assessment '.  Working from the vShield Quickstart document [1], the vCenter configuration section says to check the configuration by going to "vSphere Client, select an ESX host and make sure that the vShield appears as a tab.

First of all, I use the vSphere Web Client, not the client application, then where would this 'tab' be in the user interface?

Then, just to check, I went in the client application, and I couldn't find the tab anyway.

HOWEVER, when I go into the web interface of vShield, I see the data centers of my vCenter in the tree of "inventory" on the left side; such, it seems that the vCenter has been saved successfully.

ALSO, is there an interface in the vCloud Director to control the vShield?

Can someone give an overview of these issues?  Thank you!

There is no such tag for the Web Client, 'functionality' (which is not really adding anything useful) is provided by a vSphere Client Plugin.

You can view the list of vCenter Server Extensions in the Web Client, which should list your vShield Manager like in this picture of the attached example.

Then, just to check, I went in the client application, and I couldn't find the tab anyway.

Make sure that the vShield Manager plugin is enabled in the vSphere Client.

HOWEVER, when I go into the web interface of vShield, I see the data centers of my vCenter in the tree of "inventory" on the left side; such, it seems that the vCenter has been saved successfully.

If this is the case, then Yes, the connection between the vShield Manager and vCenter is good.

In the attributes of the feature display HTML form elements, you can put

or similar, to influence the layout of the sign of the pipe.

  • How is it updated managed with JPG files created in a zone time and copied on a PC in another time zone?

I took a picture in France 5 / 31 at 13:45. The unit was set to the time European (France).  That evening, I copied the file to the SD card for my laptop that has been arrived at the normal time of the Center. When I looked at the Date modified time stamp it shows 5/31 at 06:45. It was the exact time that the image was created in France by using the CST. Why? How Vista handles this area in this case, and how he knew the zone I was in that?

    Hello Mike,.

There's no magic here, if I can understand how it may seem so.  Hard drives now use the NTFS file system, which stores all dates and times in universal time coordinated (UTC), formerly GMT.  When you view the file information, Vista applies the time zone selected by the user to correct the UTC value in local time before posting.  Some electronic devices also store files in UTC format, and of course your camera is one of these.

  • How to use eSign manager with my offline sales staff?

They are problems get contracts signed with poor cell with the iPad app service. It is said that you can get contracts signed in offline and then he download them when you have a signal strong. I have the sales staff that the profile of the contracts and then have one or two customers sign the agreement. When I log into the app without wifi service or cell service, it doesn't let me pull up anything.

    Help, please.

    -Jared-

    Hi Jared,

In order to get a document signed through offline, you must have a good connection to connect and download the document and use "sign in person." When you turn, you can work offline and once the document completed and signed, it goes to the Outbox and yet once connected to the internet, the transaction is complete.

  • Standard managed via vCenter essential Kit

    Hello

We got 3 ESXi 4.1 cluster host, but the version doesn't matter, because we want to upgrade in the nearly future. The thing is that we also want to expand our infrastructure, lets say with 2 new hosts. This cluster has a kit with a single instance of critical vCenter more essential. If buy us a license for vCenter standard server and a standard for this 2 new host license will be able to manage in a Standard vCenter? (essentially more host kit 3 + host vSphere standard 2 - by vCenter)

I dive with care through all licenses pappers from documentation and white, so I know that essential kits does not exceed 3 host limit, but if I buy the standard for vCenter license will be I be able to manage the two cluster throug or I have to re license old Kit essential cluster?

    I hope his celar enough

    Wojtek

It does not work. Kits only Essentials, you can manage with vCenter Server Standard are the "Retail and Branch Office Kits". In your case, you will need to purchase CPU licenses for all guests. What may be interesting to watch from a cost standpoint, is an upgrade of the Kit Essentials Plus a kit of acceleration (including vCenter Server Standard and 6 licenses processors) and then buy the CPU licenses also required.

  • How to install 5.1 VSA with vCenter virtual?

    Hi all

The organization I work for is planning to install a cluster VSA 2 server in a remote site (ESXi 5.1, 5.1 VSA). To reduce costs, they want to have a virtual vCenter on the cluster. I guess that the virtual vCenter also runs the VSA cluster service.

How the hell can I install this? So far, I have:

-built 2 5.1 with 1 local datastore ESXi servers each

-built a vCenter 5.1 on the ESXi server and installed the Manager of VSA on it (which includes the cluster service)

-joined the two servers ESXi, vCenter inside a data center

Have a running VM (the vCenter) forced me down the road of installation "Brownfield". Very well... I created 2 vswitches and groups of ports and launched the installation wizard. Everything in the wizard seemed ok and he started to install. He has done many things (clearly, it's a very clever installation program) and after some time he put the host without vCenter in maintenance mode. I watched with my eyebrows getting higher and higher... probably soon he would put the host with vCenter in maintenance mode, what magic he would do to manage loses its vCenter (and the cluster service)? No of course, and it has failed with an error message "cannot create the cluster VSA: Add Cluster HA hosts failed.

There is a lot I don't understand about a virtual vCenter on a VSA cluster out of the way to install it.

The vCenter may be on the VSA data store? The install doc does not, it is said "vCenter Server can run locally on a host in the cluster VSA ESXi." vCenter Server can also run remotely and manage multiple VSA clusters. "

But if it's on a local data store, how to manage servers wearing down for maintenance, updates etc? And that does not turn the host it is running in a single point of failure, if it fails the cluster breaks down? The point of the entire cluster is to avoid this.

Am I missing something? I would be grateful if anyone can clear this up, and if he's not going to be an option, can anyone recommend a small iscsi SAN or NAS? It is perhaps less than a 3rd Server vCenter, the VSA cost plus the cost of the internal hard drives in 2 guests. In the remote site, currently, there are only a few physical servers, I don't really have the possibility of the vCenter relying on another host and then moving to the VSA cluster that was an option I read on a forum. Don't really want than wan connects either.

    Thank you

    Matt

The VCS must be outside the cluster.  It does not need to be on a server, it can run on windows or Linux systems class office.  Small footprint PCs are available for ~ $ 200.  It has to be in the same subnet as the cluster nodes.  If the VCS was done in a cluster node, you actually lose the tiebreaker vote and if the node hosting the VCS were to fail, you would lose the quorum of the cluster.

VC running within the cluster will work, but it is complicated on a cluster 2 knots because you may lose the ability to manage the cluster if the node hosting the Victoria Cross were to fail.  You want to have the DB Backup VC and a strategy to recover.

  • How to associate a bean managed with model custom content presenter

    Hello

    We use webcenter Portal 11.1.1.8.

We have created the model of presenter content customized by using application portal Webcenter Framework. We use the Portal Server model Extension to extend Webcenter portal. The requirement is to associate a bean managed with the presenter of custom content model.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Nikhil,

You can download DesignWebCenterSpaces to the URL http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/tech/webcenter/files/DesignWebCenterSpaces_11.1.1.8.0.zip

It has the "WebCenterSpacesResources" project, which helps you to organize the active portals (including the content presenter models) and resources of portal to create/update.

If you want to use beans controlled inside the presenter content model:

(Development of components in ADF for WebCenter portal using the PortalExtension project http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29542_01/webcenter.1111/e27739/jpsdg_wcsres.htm#JPSDG14173)

    1. you create the bean managed in PortalExtension project

    2. set up in faces-config. XML

        myManagedBean

        com.Portal.CP. MyManagedBean

        request

    3 deploy a part of extend.spaces.webapp.war.

After deployment, the managed bean will be available for the presenter content model.

  • How to customize a VM-W2K3 with vCenter Server 4.0.0 running in a VM W2K8

    Hello

I am trying to clone and customize a VM-W2K3 with vCenter Server 4.0.0 running in a VM W2K8.

This fails because of "Windows customization resources are found on the server" in my VM W2K8.

Okay, but where exactly do I have to copy the sysprep files, as there is no such directory

    C:\ & lt; ALLUSERSPROFILE & gt; \Application Data\Vmware\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep

as described in the ESX and vCenter Server Installation Guide.

Customization of a VM W2K8 is ok, files sysprep (or equivalent) seems to be part of a W2K8 facility.

    Thank you

    Bruno C.

For Server 2008 is the path

    "C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep".

  • vShield Manager interface network & group of port / vlan

    Hello:

I'm new to vShield and looking to use it in our environment.  I read the documentation and seeks to install the first part, the Device Manager vShield.  By reading the docs, it specifies the management interface for the vShield Manager is in its own group of port.  Why is this?  Is it okay to put this interface in a group of existing port?  Is it possible in a port with another management SMV Group (vCenter, etc.)?  Also, is it better practice to have this in a standard vs dvswitch, or isn't it important?  I was looking through posts and the other docs and so far I don't see a clear reason why it must be in its own group of port.

So far, the only element that we will consider is vShield Endpoint, for now.  We have no plans to watch App or Edge, etc.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

The Manager can be put on any standard or distributed port group. Do not create any new groups-port. The only thing that is necessary to access vCenter/SSO and DNS, NTP server (mirror).

There is no need to create a new. IMHO, this could be a failure in the doc.

    Kind regards

have you tried to go to your manage & Monitor tab and then access your vcenter and see if there are errors in saying vsphield id inaccessible. If there ar enone, you could try reconnecting to vcenter and also specify the credentials for vshield manager. And then you try to do the task.
