    Hello

It s takes longer to describe the complete installation of the use of BT for internet sharing.
I found this site with a statement of installation for Windows 2000.
The dialog boxes for Windows XP may be a little different, but the configuration will be the same.

Q2. What equipment I mean as a router, hub, NIC etc.? Please specify if these materials will be required for two PCs or for one.

Q3. What type of Internet connection sharing will be better to be wired or wireless (cost, speed and security wise)?

Q4. I need two IP address both part of connection to the internet between two PCs?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Zeff,

You can make Windows 7 the main computer for internet connection and then host the Windows XP computer.

For more information, see the article:

Start here to set up a home network in Windows 7

Networking of computers running different versions of Windows

With respect to the equipment as a router, hub, NIC depend on the connection (wired or wireless) you want to use. You can also check with the ISP (Internet Service Provider) for more information.

For more information, see the articles:

What do I need to connect to the Internet?

    Setting up a network home

Wired and wireless connections have great benefits, but they have also some disadvantages.

    Wired connection:

    > Faster and more robust than wireless connections but not so flexible when positioning of computers and devices because you must be connected to your Super Hub with an Ethernet cable.

    > Safer than wireless connections, but not so convenient for users of laptops and other mobile devices.

    WiFi connection:

    > Wireless! If you can connect when you want. However performance may be affected by walls, electric interference etc.

    > Ideal for users of laptops and other mobile devices, you can connect devices more but slower than wired connections

    > Very safe when used with higher level (WPA) encryption. You can connect your smart phone to your network wirelessly for faster browsing.

However, unauthorized users could try to use your connection (which explains why security is so important).

There are two types of IP addresses. external and internal. Both computers have the same external IP address but separate internal IP addresses. Each device in your network will have its own (internal) IP address. The external IP address, who sees the Internet is actually assigned to your router.

Hope the helps of information. Let us know if you need help with Windows related issues. We will be happy to help you.

  • How to share internet with router wireless and host of Win 7

I need to share my internet connection Windows 7 via a wireless router? I would like to share with the other win 7 and Ibook and iphone.

It is not clear from your question if you already have a wireless router or intend to buy one.  If you have the instructions with it should help you to get it implemented.  Whatever it is, the following may help: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/set-up-a-wireless-router

On edit: I just noticed you used the words 'Win 7 host' in the post title.  If you use a Windows 7 computer wireless router is just one of many possible devices connected to the router and the incoming internet connection sharing.  If you try to set up a wireless network without using a router, the following may help: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-is-a-computer-to-computer-ad-hoc-network

  • How to share files between Windows XP and Windows 7 without password?

Hey guys, I want to share files between windows 7 and windows XP. I don't want to put the password on my Windows 7 or Windows XP account. I am going on my Windows XP perfectly shared files from Windows 7, but I am not able to go on my files of windows 7, the cause of my XP he asks user name and password. I enter the user name and it does not accept it if I make a password for my windows 7 and enter as the user name... I don't know what to do guys any help?

Windows 7 only WILL NOT allow you to share files without a password, it's all just a common sense safety requirement.  It of a very bad practice to run your Windows installations with a null value, a password, give your facility a valid password.

The simplest around your problem is to create an account with the same names and passwords on each machine and so typed the password when the connection is too a problem allow AutoLogon on the machines.

    Hello Ashan,

    Thanks for the reply.

You can try to follow the following suggestions to solve the problem.

First, try to reset Internet Explorer and see if that helps.

    Reset Internet Explorer

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/923737

Note: The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings. Reset Internet Explorer is not reversible, and all the previous settings are lost after reset.

    Additional information:

We can also refer to the computer or the device manufacturer's Web site and try to update the latest version of the network adapter drivers.

    (Also works for Windows 8)

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

    To connect to the Internet

  • How to share computer laptop computer wifi laptop bluetooth that can use internet with Bluetooth?

    Hello

I want to share my laptop wifi with computer laptop bluetooth, how to share?

    I need now

    Please help me...

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand that you want to share mobile Wi - Fi.

I would like to know some information.

    1. What is the brand and model of your two laptops?

    2. The other laptop only has a Bluetooth but no Wi - Fi?

I wish to inform you that unfortunately, you can not use Bluetooth to connect to the internet. You must have a wireless PCI card.

Wi-Fi connections can reach a distance more than the alternative wireless listed above. Many newer computers, especially laptops, now contain integrated Wi - Fi capabilities makes it the first choice in most situations. A Wi - Fi connection can be used with or without a device on the network. With two computers, Wi - Fi networks under a luminaire (also calledad-hoc mode) are particularly simple to implement.

Bluetooth technology supports wireless reasonably high speed between two computers without the need for a network device. Bluetooth is more commonly used when the network to a computer with a consumption as a handheld device phone cell. Most desktop computers and most do not have the Bluetooth capability. Bluetooth works best if both devices are in the same room in close proximity to each other. Consider the Bluetooth if you have interest in networking with handheld devices and your lack of computers of the Wi - Fi capabilities.

    You may consult:

Hope this information helps. Please let us know if you need any other help with Windows in the future. We will be happy to help you.

  • How can I share files between Windows 7 Pro and a Mac with os x?

I have Windows 7 Professional and my colleague had a Mac with os x installed. We are physically in the same room, sharing a wifi connection. How to share files between two computers? That each of them should do on his computer?

If you display links, please check beforehand that the procedure for the mac is here. I found in the internet or other of the procedures for older systems Win or network only between Win 7 PCs.

    MOSH

Of course, you can do it easily. In fact, the implementation of sharing on Win7 last month was almost as easy as it is on OS X.  ;-) I find that the snow leopard has the same bugginess of show Windows machines only randomly in the sharing of the Finder section, as it did in Leopard, however. I usually connect to Windows machines by opening a window of Finder and using go > connect to server > smb://Windows-computer-name instead. In the Win7 box, I have the network to the desktop icon (you can get this to customize > change icon).

On OS X, make sure you have checked in the file sharing system preferences > sharing. Click the Options button, and then select "share files and folders using SMB." Add the shared directories as you wish.

You must create accounts/passwords user on the Mac and Windows 7. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop in Win7 (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this.

Start > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

You can find options to logon automatically for OS X in system preferences > accounts.

On Win7, go to control panel > all items in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You do not want to use Homegroup.

Discovery of plug in the network
Open the files and printers sharing
Turn on the sharing section Public folder sharing
    Plug the password protected sharing

Configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, Configuration File and Printer Sharing ON will take care of that for these machines, and if you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

OS X Firewall is done in System Preferences > Security. Click the lock to make changes, and then click the Advanced button to ensure that SMB sharing is allowed. If you set up in the share pod, it will be.

On Win7, create shares as desired. I usually just share the Public, users desktop folder and all hard drives of additional data in the system. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!
